Love the new«Tokyo Sushi»!!! Me and my son go here every Friday. Staff is great and restaurant is very nice and clean. If your looking for a great sushi spot with great people and great food, try this place out!

This was very good! I got the mixed sashimi. It was fresh and delicious with beautiful presentation! The staff was friendly and professional. This restaurant itself was clean and orderly.

Ok, first, I really wish Unilocal would remove all the old reviews from former owners, it isn’t fair to new owners. We had to try this new owner out, having heard good things. So we gave it a go this week. The food is legit, very good, in fact, BUT prices will keep folks away, I fear. I would love to come here more often, but I won’t pay that much. Price has to be inline with other places. The staff were great, one waitress recognized me from long ago! Please dial back the prices, I want to come more often!

Although Tokyo Sushi has been around for awhile, a new owner has taken over and made quality the number one priority. They are a family run business and just barely setting up shop, so their identity and service will have a learning curve and will take some time to develop. However, when I go to eat sushi I just care about how fresh and flavorful is the food, and Tokyo nailed it. I got the Kung Fu roll which is full of salmon and tuna as the main items and all kinds of flavor coming from the sauce and extra ingredients. They have real wasabi and the restaurant is neat and clean.

INREGARDSTOTHE *NEWLYOPENED* TOKYOSUSHI. I would give 2.5 — 3 star rating. Mainly due to portion size versus the price you are paying and service. Came in really wanting to love it. Regarding service — The younger waitresses are so kind, but the lack of communication is so unfortunate. Once they work better together as a team, I think things will go so much smoother. Wait time and other — Came in and ordered two things. They brought us Miso soup, and we got one order shortly after… after that, we were handed our receipt. They forgot to make our second order and we had already been there for a little over 45 minutes. I believe three — four different people helped our table, which I suppose is fine because it is a family business and I know they are just getting started. That being said, no one knew what the other had said, offered etc, which made things a bit awkward. When we finally got our second order, it had an item on it that was not listed, which is an item that my boyfriend is allergic to; so we had to sadly pick the entire roll apart. The waitresses felt pretty bad, and it was not even their fault. It was all just a super lack of communication somewhere. Taste — The taste is not bad. Seemed fresh enough and the sauces they used were flavourful. Extremely small portion sizes though. The main highlight I enjoyed, is you can ask for real wasabi. I am now a bit disappointed. While reading another review, I see how one customer got edamame on the house… seeing as my boyfriend and I had an order forgotten and we waited so long, we got nothing of the sort. Would have been nice to have been offered something like that in the meantime. Price — For two items, we paid about $ 40.

At first, I wanted this to be a cute decent sushi place. The first this I noticed when I sat down was that it was empty. Dead. The owner was watching a tv. Then I look up at pictures and lamp chains that are hanging over the table. I would hate for the dust to fall into my food… disgusting! This place is filthy. I was terrified of how my food was going to taste because I heard nothing but microwaves beeping and the doors shutting. The miso soup was very salty, almost too much. The sushi was disappointing. The sushi rice had too much vinegar and the pickled ginger was putrid. My ton katsu was surpringly not bad, taste wise. Overall, I was upset. I felt a little sick afterwards. I would stay away. It’s not worth the time nor money.

Too bad I can’t give a ZERO or F-. I called and they stated that it was«all-you-can-eat.» They’re liars and no business having a telephone if they lie. I drove 5 miles and they stated it wasn’t all-you-can-eat. I just wanted the Unilocal planet to know of their unsavory business practices. It should be called«Bait & Switch Sushi. The more I type the madder I get.

The service is slow, unfriendly, and very disappointing. The sushi was warm and inedible. I was the only one in there and now I know why! Unfortunately not returning. I would not recommend.

I went get my sushi fix, I love the spicy crunchy scallop role usually and didn’t have much time so I thought I would try Tokyo… it was quick, BUT, she charged me more than the menu said it was for this roll. I got to work and was so excited to eat my sushi… OMG it was HORRIBLE! the texture was off and the flavor was awful!!! I have to say I will NEVER go here again… YUCK!!!

I was in Manteca for the night and was craving sushi I drove around and found this place. I was a little concerned because it was empty. But I decided to give it a try. I was semi greeted I sat down at a table and waited to get a menu. I knew what I wanted and was ready to order but the lady was in the kitchen. I waited for 10 min then a white couple with a kid walk in they where greeted and and sat down. Right away the lady brings the man a drink and tea and water for the lady and a side salad. I had not been given water or tea at this time. Finally she decides to take my order. I was so upset and humiliated that I was not given the proper service so I kindly told the lady that I would take my business somewhere else.

Not a place to go to for sushi. Fish that needs to be defrosted in the microwave is not legit sushi. Calamari is battered not breaded. Flavors were way off. Highly disappointed. Sad since it’s only the 2 owners working. Should have known not to dine here after noticing the front door is propped open directly to the dining area.

I used to go here all the time. The couple that owns the place are super nice. They were always my favorite sushi restaurant until my last few visits. They used to have. the freshest sushi and the biggest rolls reasonably priced. Somewhere along the line their quality in fish went down, their prices went up and they seem to be a bit slower and short handed now that they no longer have a good waitress that can communicate clearly and food takes a really really long time to get to your table. I really hate to leave them a bad review but sadly i will no longer be coming here for sushi. especially since last time i went and all i ordered was sashimi and i heard the microwave turn on(im assuming they were defrosting the fish). They used to have the absolute best dragon rolls. Sorry guys!

My California roll was falling apart the crab was suoer stringy my entire bento box smelled like bleach the miso soup tasted straight up powdery. I will stick with driving to Matsumi in Ripon from now on. By the time I got home I had a serious stomach ache & I only ate ¼ of my dinner!

First time at this place. Just happened to see it while driving by. Little hole in the wall restsurant. Owners are very nice and accommodating. We ordered their Tiger Roll and Manteca roll. Both very good and reasonably priced. While there, we spoke to another patron who frequents the establishment and he said his family loves the ramon bowls. So next time I think we shall try it. I will def. go back. Owner said they have been in business at this location for 11 years.

This is the only place I will order Sushi in Manteca. The menu is very«american» but the fish is always fresh and of high quality. They will make customized rolls upon request. Service is always fast and friendly, prices are cheap compared to competitiors in the area.
