Taco Del Mar

I don’t get why the low ratings? We love this place and come in multiple times a week. Jay is so amazing and the food is great! Trust me the revues are off this is one amazing restaurant!!! Give it another try!

I used to love this location. The staff was friendly and was able to put my meal together efficiently. A couple of months ago, it looked like there were some wholesale staff changes. They are still friendly but it seems like there is a lot of turnover lately. There is always someone new now and it shows. I used to eat here twice a week but not anymore. It’s too bad. No cabbage today for my fish tacos and this was at lunch time.

The slowest worst experiences of my life. Taco Del Mar is usually quite good. Avoid this one if you want your food in any kind of hurry. Like fast food should be. Taco Del Mar I hope you read this and train your people to work with some sense of urgency for people who are waiting for their lunch on a limited time schedule

Very slow service… and very inconsistent. Probably too much employee turn over. The management is about as poor as I have ever seen. If they stay open it will be miraculous.

If you are looking for slow service, dried up selection of meats (except for the grease saturated ground beef) then you’ve come to the right place! Food prep counter is an absolute sloppy mess. Skip it, send the owner a message!

Two stars only because it is sometimes good. Very inconsistent. Can only be due to poor management.

Came back a second time to try once more since its close to house. Food at this location is just ok. I think the difference is the lack of customer service, that makes you feel like they are doing you a big favor taking your money. I know that not all fast food with teen to 20’ish food slaves have this attitude like the young girls working on the evening shift at this joint. Subway for life… eat fresh from now on…

I’m a fan of Del Mar. The food here is their standard fare, and I love my Baja Bowl. This location has a few opportunities though. (at least from my perspective as a corporate field trainer for another company)
First, while the employees were all very nice and I was greeted multiple times, they kept repeating questions about my order; seemed unsure of basic procedures. One team member kept asking another how to assemble various items for customers. The cashier wasn’t sure how to ring my order and I was under charged. Ouch!
Second… While the food prep area was clean and sanitary, not so much to floor of the eating area. I could see the area under the trash receptacle and it was littered with crumbs.
Finally, while the good was good, they are very stingy with portions. I know the food is all premeasured using their scoops and spoons, but my prep guy didn’t even fill those. My Baja bowl was a tad over half full. I expect more for a seven dollar item.

Went back in to give this location another chance. NOTHING had change from my previous review. One person working, overwhelmed, meats all looked to be not fresh and sitting in the bins from the night before. I expect much much more for a $ 10 burrito.
