I’m torn in how to portray this place. On one hand, my beer connoisseur hand, this place is well lacking with no taps and the only decent beer they have is Shiner and Sierra Nevada. However, on the other hand, my historian and aviator hand, this is a one-of-a-kind place and a working piece of history. There are signatures on the wall that comprise the Air Force whose who from Hap Arnold to Chuck Yeager. March is also where Bob Hope started his USO affiliation, so he probably spent a bit of time here as well. This is one of the few true, old time military aviator bars left and operational. They also have a great covered patio and a non-covered patio that has really great deck furniture. So if you have base access, go there on Wed. evenings and drill weekends and you’ll have a great time with great people.
