Not bad. Place is busy and some of the servers can be a little rude. Overall it was a good experience.

This is the second time we have come. The first time I was not impressed with the service and this time it was even worse. We had made reservations weeks ago and confirmed the same day for a party of eight, six adults and two children. The dinner was for my mothers 95th birthday. They tried to put us at a table for six. It was like pulling teeth to get a table for eight. I also had asked to speak with the head hostess because that was the person to speak with and she never appeared. Will never come her again.

Amazing happy hour. Food is delicious… drinks are plentiful! Try the truffle Mac and cheese and the buffalo chicken bites. Sushi is outstanding as well!!!

If I could give it more stars I would! This is my favorite restaurant down the shore. Everything is spectacular. Great things: Nice bathrooms Top notch sushi(some of the best I’ve had) They have lots of seating options(booths, high tops, bar, and sushi bar) All around great food(tons of options even for the pickiest of eaters) All of the staff is friendly Not so great things: It is crowded and always buzzing. Overall I give it a 5 star review. My favorite restaurant of all time.

Tomatoes excels in every facet of the restaurant experience: adequate service, unique ambience, and exceptional food. For a place of its up-scale caliber, the food came out rather quickly. The crab cakes are bountiful and filling. Everyone at our table was happy. The truffle Mac and cheese is a must try! Tomatoes, nestled in a congested strip of competing restaurants nearby, stands out as the clear favorite.

The food was great but I was disappointed with the service. My friend who I was eating with was not hungry so she didn’t order anything to eat and I wasn’t that hungry either so I just ordered a caesar salad with shrimp(I was told it was not possible to grill the shrimp although they offer grilled chicken) and edamame. Now, the waiter was extremely nice, but what transpired after I ordered made me a little mad. The edamame came out relatively fast. After, I was told the salad was coming right out. Then, a group of three old(wealthy looking) men sat down two tables away. The waiter took their order. Then, about 10 – 15 minutes later, their soups and salads all came out. I was confused as to why I had ordered 20 minutes before them and my salad still wasn’t out. Then, about 20 minutes after they got their salad, mine came out. So essentially, I ordered edamame and a salad which shouldn’t have taken over an hour in all to receive. Second, because the three men were definitely spending more money than me and we were going to be leaving a bigger tip and were more intimidating then a young girl like me(even though I actually am intimidating but thats a different story), it seems as though they were given much better service because they were going to give a bigger tip but I think a paying customer is a paying customer regardless of their demographic and should be given the same service if they are respectful(which I was). However, the salad was great and I am still going to come back.

Party of 10 for Mother’s Day, appetizers; broiled octopus, mussels, calamari, and shaved brussel sprouts all delicious. I had skirt steak which was excellent, cooked perfectly, other entrees of branzino, fillet mignon, crab pasta, euro chicken, and others were well received. We have been going to Tomatoes for years and the food never disappoints. The wait-staff is super.

Went for the happy hour specials today and it was great. The bartender Veronica is extremely personable and makes you feel at home. We ordered wings, sliders, ribs and martinis. We each had 2 martinis and the helpings were pretty large. For 50 bucks it’s a great deal! Would definitely go back!

We enjoyed the dinner. The atmosphere was energetic. Our two year old loved everything. I loved the soup, salad and the dessert. Our only complaint is that they over cooked the seafood. I ordered a lobster dish and the lobster was cooked well done. I lived in New England for many years, so I think it’s very hard to mess up lobster. All you have to do is not over cook it and that’s exactly what they did. However, the sauce and the pasta was very good. My husband ordered the Chilean sea bass and again they over cooked it. The veggies with his Chilean sea bass was excellent! Our veggie soup, Brussels sprouts salad and the lemon blueberry cake all was delicious. I didn’t try the sushi, but I will give it a try next time.

I normally love the food at Tomatoes but last week I had an experience that will make me reconsider going there in the future. I got to the restaurant late and asked the hostess if the kitchen was still open. She was very nice and said that yes, the kitchen was still open. I sat down in the booth and the waiter came over to the table to set it. He clearly had an attitude when he walked up to the table and seemed annoyed that we were asking to be served food a half an hour before the kitchen closed. He slammed the silverware and menus on the table, made a face, and was clearly copping an attitude. Needless to say, I decided at that point that it was not worth staying to eat and left to find a more customer-friendly establishment.

Love Tomatoes especially happy hour. Pink Prozac and the ribs are the favorites. We have brought several friends & will be coming back.

First time visit and yay, I’m a fan! Service impeccable, food was delicious, and atmosphere very sassy. Since it was a Saturday night, there’s a DJ and dancing so the noise level goes from 100 to about 1000 real quick. If that’s an issue, go to dinner earlier in the evening.

This place was a secondary option for my bday dinner and we only came here because there was an open seat and we couldn’t wait for our later reservation at another place nearby. Tomatoes is over priced and the menu is confusing as hell. T has small plates that range from Mediterranean to Japanese. They even had sushi. It just didn’t flow. The food was good but confusing. We ended up sitting at the bar which was shine because I was looking forward to a great drink. The drinks were not impressive at all and for what we paid I would say it was not worth it. I wouldn’t go back.

I’ve been here a couple times this summer and I have to say, this last experience has been the worst. Overpriced! And just rude clientele. Very pretentious. Bartender was nice enough, but I couldn’t stay. Even during happy hour, everything was overpriced. I guess that what you get at a touristy beach town location.

I am a very big fan of Tomatoes whenever I am in Margate. I especially love their happy hour! They have awesome drinks and friendly bartenders! The sushi is always fresh and they have a pretty big happy hour menu! A few of our most favorite items are: Thai style mussels(cannot go here and not get these!) Sushi(their spicy salmon or spicy tuna are always a solid option) Ribs(So full of flavor and so tender, fall of the bone!!! Another don’t miss) Rocket Salad(simple yet delicious) Shaved Brussels Sprouts(chock full of flavor) Salt and Pepper Calamari(really fresh and lots of flavor) Of course I have other items that I love, I usually come here with 1 or two others and we share a bunch of the happy hour items(never missing the mussels or ribs) and we always make sure to try something new with our usual items as well! Dinner here is great, a little pricey, but certainly worth the money. It can also get loud on weekends here, so its great for groups, but if you want to have a more intimate conversation, week nights are best since they often have live music on the weekends and have a late night bar scene. Also, it can get VERY crowded, so be sure to make a reservation when you are here on the weekends! I really enjoy Tomatoes, and it is certainly one of my favorite spots down the shore!

Pretty solid margate spot that always seems to be crowded. They have a great happy hour that is every day but only at the bar. It doesn’t not include the tables that are also located in the bar area bough FYI. We made that mistake but then couldn’t find anywhere else to go. I’ve had s few dinners here. Recently I had the crab pasta which was really good. I’ve also had their sushi. Which is also really good! Although a bit overpriced I feel. They’re on special during happy hour though. Great drink selection. On weekend nights they have a DJ that gets the place going. Usually a fun time.

One of my favorites down the shore. If you can, get there by 6:30pm to make their happy hour! Half priced martinis(the best is the key lime of course) and a full menu of really good apps. 7 days a week!

Had a reservation for 9 people at 8pm on Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. So, yes, going into it we knew that the place would be incredibly busy, but we heard great things from locals, and hence, made a reservation. We were seated at 8:45! 45 minutes later! Did we hear an apology? I know that situations come up like this when the table previously doesn’t leave, etc, but the hostesses were all very bratty to us when we followed up a few times and gave us the generic«just 5min» response. My friend and I had to catch a train so we notified our server to take our orders first and please put a rush on the order. I asked what kind of miso soup the broth was made of, and when she said it was chicken, I chose another appetizer. She still brought it out and said«why don’t you just try it first». Uh… what. There were literally zero vegetarian entrees/salads/appetizers on the menu(I’m sure I could have paid $ 19 for spaghetti without the meatballs but why) so I opted for two avocado rolls. I expected my enamame and two avocado rolls to somehow blow my mind, but obvi they didn’t, on top of the $ 17 price tag, and no-so-rushed order. The vibe here is very ‘real housewives of new jersey’, my group of 20-somethings was definitely the youngest group there. I would skip this place all together.

I found this place based on a combination of a friend’s recommendation and Unilocal reviews. I have been here twice. Once during restaurant week. With the name, I was expecting an upscale pizzeria. I was surprised when I entered because the décor is upscale and trendy. The restaurant is well kept and looks great. The menu certainly does not fit the name of the restaurant. They serve sushi and Italian food. The service was great. My waitress had a great sense of humor. and was attentive. I ordered sushi as an appetizer. It was great and I would order it again. I also tried the prosciutto wrapped dates and hoisin chicken. Both had great flavors. Overall, a great experience both times. I will come back.

Super disappointing. My boyfriend and I ate here last night for Valentine’s Day. I had read some great reviews and the menu looked amazing so I chose tomatoes over Steve and cookies(which I’ve previously been to and is amazing). Anyway it was a weird restaurant. Sushi mixed with Italian. The décor was odd and different in each section of the restaurant. All of this means nothing to me but figured I’d mention it. What really matters is the food and service. Service was fine. That’s pretty much where they are getting this star. The food was HORRIBLE. I’ve never said that I don’t think ever in a review before. For my entrée I order the lobster ravioli it looked so promising when I got it with huge pieces of lobster. It had absolutely ZERO flavor. I was shocked. The lobster was overcooked and to be honest I didn’t even taste a hint of lobster at all or anything for that matter. Such a huge huge let down. My boyfriend was also very disappointed with his lobster margarita again no flavor. I would recommend dining somewhere else.
