Very impressed– delicious food and attentive service, combined with a relaxed atmosphere and an affordable(and tasty/high quality) kids menu. We particularly enjoyed the clam«chowder», tuna, and blueberry clafoutis. The Chardonnay recommendation was spot on. Looking forward to returning.

New to East Cobb and decided to check out Common Quarter for a Friday night date with my hubby. The service was impeccable. Comfortable environment. We’re vegetarians and the food choices were plentiful and delicious. Highly recommend it! Looking forward to a return trip.

I had dinner here this past Saturday with my wife after hiking up and down Kennesaw Mountain. She thought initially they were a seafood place which after I looked over menu online we realized that was not the case. I ordered the Chickent thighs served with gnocchi, asparagus and other stuff in the truffle sauce(I’ve not enjoyed truffle before). It was amazing! They had other menu items that I thought I would like to try sometime but I might just order this same thing for future visits. I have prepared chicken thighs in several recipes at home and until now I thought I had done pretty good. I’m also slightly indifferent to gnocchi(unlike my wife), but again this gnocchi raised the bar for me. It kinda melts in your mouth like the chicken. So highly recommend the restaurant and we’ll be back!

I’ve been on a search for the perfect burger… and found it here. It’s crazy good. They have great daily specials. The day I went — fried cheese curds were on the list. Delicious! Everyone here is really nice and well informed about the menu and ingredients. Oh and if you go, you must order their rolls! Can’t wait to go back!!!

Everything was delicious and our waiter was awesome. My party was extremely loud(just having fun) and we didn’t get any complaints or dirty looks from the staff, just a few other diners. Will definitely be back! Recommend the chips and blue cheese dip, as well as the lamb pasta and the burger

My husband and I got a last minute reservation here for Valentine’s Day and loved it! Loved the ambiance and the food was spectacular. I had the potato soup, flat iron steak, and peanut butter pie. We also did the wine pairings that went along with the fixed Valentine’s menu. Highly recommend and excellent service. Will be returning for sure! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening!

Just hosted a birthday party w/about 20 guests and they did a great job taking care of us. Food, drinks, and service were all top notch. Also, they had Frogmore Stew on the menu that night. Don’t let the name scare you away; it’s one of the best things I’ve had at CQ.

So my sister took me here for my birthday brunch on 09÷13÷15. The buffet included coffee, iced tea, and soft drinks. Kids ages under 6 eat free & kids ages 6 — 12 eat for half the price. Price: $ 17.95(used to be $ 20) Anyways, I ordered a unsweetened tea(I think. it was a while back and I don’t remember which drink I ordered. oopsies!) The food which came out were listed here: Late Summer Fruit Salad(I didn’t get to try because it didn’t look appetizing.) Salad of Local Lettuces, Cucumbers and Tomatoes(Very good and fresh. I enjoyed eating the butter lettuce in the salad! So good!) Brabant Potatoes(I didn’t eat this one. I think I’m not really a fan of potatoes.) Cheddar Scrambled Eggs(They tasted ok. Just a bunch of cheddar on top of the eggs. very cheesy! Yum! Who doesn’t like cheese, right?) Logan Turnpike Grits(Normally, I do enjoy grits. but for some reason this grits wasn’t that great to me. It was slightly dry and clumpy.) Red Wine-Braised Pork Grillades(It tasted fine but certainly not my favorite.) Applewood Smoked Bacon(I didn’t try this one. but lil sister, Crystal H didn’t like the small bits of hashbrown in it, because they were stale. gross, much?) Bananas Foster Pancakes(The presentation of these pancakes looked very messy and were piled up and mushed together with a lot of bananas inside the pancake batter. wasn’t a big fan of this either.) Eggs Sardou(It was poached egg with Hollandise sauce mixed with cooked baby spinach. This was my favorite! I wish they continued making only this dish. I would come here only to eat this. lol and it also had bacon on top of the spinach. Yum!) Leah Chase’s Smothered Chicken with Mushroom Gravy(I didn’t try it. Sorry.) Buttermilk Biscuits with Andouille Gravy(First of all, I didn’t like the fact that the biscuits were mushy because of all that gravy. The gravy tasted ok but a bit bland. Who likes to eat mushy and wet biscuits? Not me!) Powdered Sugar Beignets with Café au Lait Crème Anglaise(It was ok. The sauce for this dessert tasted weird with the beignets. was it suppose to taste so bland?) Shrimp & Mirliton Casserole(This was also considered to be my favorite! The shrimp were big not the normal small size you see at other buffets. so this dish was great!) Mississippi Mud Brownies(I ate these first, then my breakfast meal. They tasted good but too sweet and mushy, again. I guess I enjoy eating crunchy brownies.) My overall first time experience was excellent. Our server, Nick was very attentive and friendly. I think that was his name. I apologize if it’s incorrect. I think I would come here, again. It’s just a bit far from where I live. but maybe if I’m in the area.

I’ll add pics, but how I haven’t reviewed Common Quarter yet is beyond me… bad Unilocal Eliter: p. First off, they are in a challenging spot tucked in the corner of a shopping center off Johnson Ferry behind S’bux, if you’re having issues, but as you approach from the parking lot you’ll realize you’re in my «run of the mill shopping center spot». The patio with the fireplace is a super big win for Fall & Winter nights with friends, great wine and nibbles from the kitchen! The cocktails, beer and wine selection are top-notch and atmosphere and bar are super comfy, reminiscent of upscale Charleston beach spots. The food, also with a beachy-feel, varies from comfort food to healthy comfort food and is inventive and interesting. Chef Jeffrey Gardner isn’t afraid to try new things and it’s always exciting to see what happens with the seasonal menus. Tonight was no exception with the Fall release! We tried the Sweet Potato Gnocchi, Roasted Cauliflower and Beet Salad and the hubby had Jeffrey’s take on the In-and-Out«Animal Style» Burger, which did not disappoint. Looking forward to a return trip to try some of the entrees and sit by the fire! Casual, dressy, date night, celebration or just because, this is a great spot to add to your list and worth the trip from anywhere in Metro Atlanta!

Sunday brunch: I’d have to say that this place is pretty good, but I went in with high expectations, and it wasn’t exactly what I thought it was going to be. I had a few favorite dishes including the salad with the amazing balsamic dressing(favorite), the chicken and mushroom dish(although a bit too salty in my opinion), and the poached egg with spinach and prosciutto. I loved how the egg was cooked, perfectly cooked whites with runny yolk. Some of the other dishes were a bit bland and stale. The Applewood bacon and«hashbrowns” —(small cuts of fries) were stale. I might be biased because I like thin, crispy bacon, whereas this was thick cut bacon. But I understand this is buffet style, so the food does stay out for a while. I really like grits, but the grits here weren’t very tasty, so I was a bit disappointed. I tried the beignet(pronounced: ben-yay, lol) with the sauce, which was okay, I guess I’m not a big fan of it… The location is pretty convenient because it is at the far right hand side of a plaza, right next to Chik fil A and starbucks. Outdoor seating was great that day because the weather was awesome. Oh, and Sean was a cool server. He was friendly and quick. The brunch is now $ 18 compared to before when it was ~$ 20.(This includes coffee, sweet tea, or a soft drink.) Overall, the service and atmosphere was great, but the food wasn’t as good as I anticipated. I heard that the menu does change all the time, so it might be better the next time I go.

So this is a good addition to the burbs. The décor is good and it doesn’t feel like you’re in a strip mall(which you are). The drinks were tasty and the service was very good. The eggplant was the best app we had and I’d get it again. I ordered the skirt steak because the waitress described the sweet crusty outside and I didn’t hear anything she said after that! Here’s my only gripe and it maybe a matter of taste but when I normally eat skirt steak I order medium or medium+. It’s a very flavorful but stringy cut of meat that actually becomes more tender cooked a little bit longer(opposite of a strip or ribeye) as the heat must break down more connective tissue. Anyway, the waitress said the chef recommends med rare so I went against my norm and took the advice; as did the others at the table. The steaks were chewy. The crust on them though was delicious. My hunch is that the waitress may not have been completely familiar with the dish when she suggested med rare. Unfortunate because it made for a very mediocre dish which also was the most expensive on the menu.

I’ve been to Common Quarter a few times, both for dinner and one of their brunch buffets, and have really enjoyed everything each time I’ve been. All of the staff are very friendly and attentive, and my water is never empty which I very much appreciate! I’ve had various things on the menu and I really don’t think you can go wrong with anything you order. Everything is always cooked to perfection. Last night I tried the eggplant dip, which is new to the spring menu, and wow was it amazing. In addition, their pita is very fluffy. Nom nom. I’m hungry writing this now. Sigh. I crave going here because I know there will always be something amazing on the menu, and since options rotate seasonally, there will always be something new to try! Their burger was great — no ketchup needed! — and I tried the truffle mayo as a dip for the fries it came with which was to die for. The duck is perfectly cooked, and flavors pop. The lobster pasta is amazing but be hungry! As everyone writes, the peanut butter pie is also quite tasty. My favorite part of it was the granola crust. Yum! The ambience is really nice — a southern coastal theme, and although it can get loud depending on the crowd, has always been a fun atmosphere. I love their patio which has a big fireplace too! The drink menu for beer, wine, and cocktails is amazing(all normal Atlanta pricing). Plenty of free lot parking outside. It’s located in a strip mall, so I don’t think everyone would know such a gem was here!

«Uncommon beauty is commonly overlooked.» — The Woodsman(2004) I can’t believe it has been almost 18 months since I wrote my review of CQ — I’m here monthly, if not twice a month. Pretty much all the food items in my original review have been replaced, so truly this update is LONG overdue. It helps that CQ is close to where I live, but I love it so that I think that I would make the trek anyway. This restaurant has everything I enjoy — relaxing atmosphere, not loud — even when it’s super busy, excellent servers, delicious cocktails, amazing and comforting food and great value. They are the whole package. I have often walked right in without a reservation during the week — but that is tough to do on the weekends. Thank goodness for the OpenTable app on my phone. The staff is well trained, friendly and always remembers me — not just my face, but my name and my allergies. I regularly go to remind them and they instead remind me. They have to have a file on me someplace — which is great! Sean is typically my waiter, but I also have had Chase, Braeden, Drew and Andrew — they all do a stellar job. Drinks filled, recommendations made, dead soldiers removed from the table quickly, and not too many interruptions at the table. Even Chris Talley, Owner & Operating Partner, always comes by the table to make sure we have everything we need — and even delivers food or drinks. That rarely happens at other restaurants — that is FULL service. So let’s talk food. I love that they change out the menu regularly, but keep some items on the menu through the season. Surrounding restaurants that I have previously frequented have not changed up their menus in 2+ years — keeping the menu fresh and new says a lot and keeps bringing me back. I’ll find a favorite dish and will come back again and again to have it, but then I get very excited for new items to pop up! –Red wine braised pot roast –Shrimp and Grits –Brussels sprouts with cauliflower purée –Buttermilk Fried Okra, Mississippi Come Back Sauce –Mexican shrimp salad –Chicken Saltimbocca –Lobster Spaghetti –NY Strip Steak –Peanut Butter Pie, Graham Cracker Crust, Candied Peanuts, Whipped Cream So out of the above, my favorite is the pot roast. It is actually a short rib braised and cooled in it’s braising liquid. Then brought back to temp in its liquid, served with roasted root veggies, served over a parsnip pureed and topped with a horseradish cream. This is to.die.for! I’ve had it half a dozen times — easily. My only reason for being sad that Winter is ending, is this is leaving the menu until fall. I’ll miss it so. The succulent meat, caramely veggies, smooth parsnips — heaven on a plate. Also a big hit for me — the Brussels — roasted until crispy and caramelized. Served with crispy bacon served atop a cauliflower purée(man, Chef Jeffrey knows how to purée some veggies) and with an arugula salad on top. I could eat these every day of my life. The okra is also delightful — crispy and that comeback sauce… YUM! My mother adores the shrimp and grits(off limits for me due to the lobster broth) and she is picky. The saltimbocca is also delicious — perfectly crispy yet still moist chicken cutlets with prosciutto and a sherry mushroom sauce atop creamy mashed potatoes. But you cannot eat here without getting the Peanut Butter pie for dessert. This is the best dessert in the city — it was gone for a good 6 months but has returned by popular demand and I cannot get enough! I don’t even have to order it — the staff knows to bring it to me at the end of my meal. They just wait to hear of my dining companions want slices as well. I recently did their brunch buffet again(last time was last Father’s Day). For $ 19.99 you get a full buffet with 15 + items, plus coffee, tea, soft drinks, etc. Cocktails are extra, but who cares. SO much food and I can eat 3 plates worth and coffee and tea without blinking — so it is well worth it. I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy, beignets, bacon, pork shoulder, grits… okay well, everything, I guess! A must try, for sure!

Fellow Unilocalers, Will S. and Lindy F. have raved and raved about this place so I knew I had to try it out. I was a bit hesitant at first since I’m a Cobb/Marietta noob. But I am so glad that I made it outside my 5 mile radius. We sat out on the patio instead of the inside dining area. I would say outside the ambience is a bit more casual, and inside it is much more romantic. The patio was a nice intimate setting for our party of 5. Service was great! Sean, our server, was very accommodating to the allergies and requests of our table. One of our party mentioned that he couldn’t drink alcohol and when it came to ordering the entrée, Sean made sure that they put his sauce on the side because it had liquor in it. Mind you, this is without my friend even knowing there was alcohol in the dish. You definitely won’t get that attention to detail everywhere! The executive chef and managing partner also stopped by to check up on us and even personally delivered dessert to the birthday girl! Common Quarter has a seasonal menu and all ingredients are locally grown. For appetizers we got… Roasted Brussels Sprouts — I love brussel sprouts and these did not disappoint. Rendered in bacon fat and on a bed of cauliflower purée, the sprouts were super tender without any bitterness. The bacon bits were huge and had a nice smoky flavor. This was probably my favorite appetizer of the night. Mexican Shrimp Salad — I can’t eat shrimp but I picked around it. The grilled avocado stole the show. It was warm, and sweet. I thought the rest of the salad wasn’t particularly memorable. Honey Beet Salad — My least favorite appetizer of the night. Sad because I picked it for my love of beets! The beets were cold, and had a strange vinegary after taste. The goat cheese flavor wasn’t strong and didn’t add much to the dish. My favorite was the arugula, which is … Just arugula. Grilled bread — Interesting side. Had beautiful grill marks but I would have liked some butter to pair with it. Side note, I also got a Moscow Mule and they served it in a copper mug! Yes! That is the only way to serve a Moscow Mule. For my entrée, I ordered the butternut squash risotto. YUM. I don’t really know what«bad» risotto is but this isn’t that. It was creamy and had small butternut squash cubes and pistachios. I feel like this dish is the epitome of an Autumn dish. I was really pleased with my order. It held the next day upon reheat as well. I also got to try the pot roast and the chicken saltimbocca. The pot roast was fantastic. Fall off the bone(boneless) short rib meat. Definitely hearty and a comfort food. I did think it was a bit salty but my palette and isn’t that heavy. The chicken saltimbocca was good but unmemorable. I found the chicken to be a little dry but I really liked the breading and crispy bite to the chicken. Dessert is really what made me a believer of this place. The peanut butter pie should NEVER be taken off the menu. Holy crap. I thought about getting the crème brûlée but I’m so glad I went with the peanut butter pie instead. This pie is more like a mousse on a graham cracker crust with a schmear of chocolate on the side. The peanut butter mousse is seriously PERFECTLY dense. It’s not too heavy and I just wanted never ending bites. The dark chocolate schmear is delicious and pairs well with the sweet peanut butter. The whipped cream is incredibly light and not sweet at all yet a perfect addition to this dessert. I look forward to many more peanut butter pies to come at Common Quarter!

My friends and I dined here for my birthday dinner on a Thursday night. We were seated outside on the patio before the drinkers arrived so we had an entire heated, quiet patio to ourselves – what a treat! Our server, Sean, took great care of us and the restaurant manager, Chris, also stopped by to greet our group. I cannot emphasize enough how great the service here at Common Quarter! We ordered a few appetizers for the table: MEXICANSHRIMPSALAD: gem lettuce, pickled tomato, charred avocado, crispy tortillas, citrus, HONEYROASTEDBEETS: goat cheese, pecans, Tucker Farms arugula, fennel, citrus, and CRISPYBRUSSELSSPROUTS cauliflower purée, bacon, Tucker Farms arugula, lemon. I honestly can’t say anything bad about any of the appetizers we had; they were all delicious! If I had to pick a favorite out of the list to recommend someone, it would be the Brussels sprouts, but mainly because I really, really love Brussels sprouts. If this gives you any indication of how delicious the appetizers were, our group finished every last bite from every plate! For my dinner, I tried the lobster spaghetti. I love this dish! I also finished every bite, although I probably shouldn’t have, but I couldn’t resist! Perfectly cooked pasta, lightly seasoned with a hint of spice that grows on you, this dish is where it’s at! I love the huge lobster chunks and the pieces that came straight from the claws. This is probably the most generous lobster serving I’ve ever had at any restaurant. For dessert, we all ordered the one thing you absolutely have to get: the peanut butter pie. Only available seasonally, this is definitely a must. I’m not a huge peanut butter, chocolate, or pie fan, but everything in this pie just screamed delicious and you can really taste the fresh peanut butter in every bite. The homemade whipped cream, light and fluffy and nearly tasteless, is also a great addition to the pie. I am not a big sweets person and you’ll rarely hear me say this, but this pie is truly phenomenal! Overall, fantastic service, fantastic food! Will definitely be returning soon!

Finally made it in for a regular meal. Now, of course, I see the true meaning of happiness at Common Quarter — Dinner. The service was just as amazing, the setting was beautiful and intimate(with amazing music) and I had the chance to try a slew of new dishes. Chips & Dip — YES, please. The«dip» is amazing. I’d eat it off of my hand alone. Lamb Meatballs — Need I say more? Brussels Sprouts — Again. ‘Nuff said. Creamed Kale — My side dish. It was divine, of course. Super creamy and pretty filling. Lobster Spaghetti — Holy hell. I’ve never been one to go nuts over lobster, but this was easily the best pasta dish I’ve ever had. I’m never in the mood for pasta as a main, but this was such a fantastic choice. I couldn’t believe how generous they were with the lobster, too! I loved the flavors. It was actually pretty light, too. Dessert — Chocolate peanut butter pie. Yep. It was wonderful Bread Pudding — Easily the winner. What a delightful dessert. That bourbon flavor was unreal. Per our server’s recommendation, I’m not surprised why she said it was her favorite. Color me a fan of Common Quarter. I’m so grateful to have experienced more of their menu and now I can’t wait to head back.

3.5 stars. Great service(although I had long requested one of the two booths and it was denied upon entry because two people of our party canceled). Char. Yumm… Liquid goat cheese. Smeared that all over my toast. And the remaining on the char once I gobbled up all that toast! Fresh greens and slightly sweet/vinegrette onions decorated my appetizers. Shrimp and grits. I like the big gritty consistency of the grits. The shrimp is succulent. Chicken saltimbocca. Lightly battered. Not juicy though. Comes on a thick pool of mashed potatoes. Nothing memorable. Roasted broccoli with salt. Who knew something healthy can be so delicious! I enjoyed the toasted almonds and sweet yellow raisins as well. Overall, other people’s reviews and pictures overwhelmed me more than this experience. The menu is seasonal and subject to change so if you see what you like on Unilocal,ya better jump on it ASAP!

Came here on a weekday night with a couple of Unilocal buddies. Restaurant wasn’t crowded. The atmosphere is very nice and relaxing; lights are dimmed, but bright enough to make out the menu and what you’re eating. APPETIZERS –Crispy Brussel Sprouts 3⁄5 I’m not a fan of brussel sprouts. In fact, I hate them. Or so I thought. My friend said the reason most people hate them is b/c they’re poorly prepared and she was right. These were baked crispy(mostly) and placed on top of a delicious cauliflower purée. For good measure they sprinkle on some crispy bacon. They also had arugula on top, but that was kinda weird and out of place. Giving it a 3 b/c they made them good enough for me to enjoy. –Sauteed Calamari 2⁄5 Probably the low point of the meal. Sauteed with chorizo and sweet & spicy peppers. Calamari was a little chewy. The peppers were nice and definitely had a bite to them. I just recently had the best calamari ever at Murphy’s and this dish just didn’t stand up to it. ENTREES –Chicken Saltimbocca 4⁄5 A chicken schnitzel(thin fried chicken breast) topped with mushroom gravy with mashed potatoes. I thought this was a very tasty dish. The chicken was seasoned well and pretty moist. The mashed potatoes were creamy and went well with the chicken. –Maine Lobster Spaghetti 4⁄5 Spicy cream sauce with a bunch of fresh tasting lobster chunks. The lobster was great and they don’t skimp. I think I got more lobster in this meal than I’ve gotten shrimp in similar pasta dishes. My only problem was that the sauce wasn’t really spicy. But it was still good. –Red Wine Braised Pot Roast 4⁄5 Slow cooked pot roast with potatoes, carrots, and horseradish cream. I thought it was well cooked; it was easy to pull the meat apart with just the fork. The veggies were really tasty. DESSERT –Peanut Butter Pie 5⁄5 Everything about this was amazing. Fresh tasting. Creamy. Crust you would kill for. It’s a pretty large slice. I could have eaten it by myself, but it can be shared. Service here is really great. All the servers are great. One of the managing partners came by and asked how everything was. Even brought one of our drinks to the table.

I dlslike writing reviews when I cant write about the whole experience(and since I am not drinking, I cant comment about the cocktails or drinks) but as it will be a while before I will be able to participate in that part of dining out, I will update when I can. (Side note: I just saw on the left side column they do brunch, so checking that out!!!) Ok so I have eaten at Local Three. I love the Farm to Table genre of restaurants. I love fresh foods and this restaurant group does a good job with their recipes. My husband had the Lobster Spaghetti. It smelled delicious, the sauce was nice and creamy and there was a LOT of lobster in it. It was spicy, but no more than necessary and he gobbled it up. I had the pot roast. I was warned that they reduce the liquid to pour over the pot roast, which made it a little salty. The horseradish cream was supposed to cut some of the salinity, but I think I may have overhyper taste buds and I couldnt finish it. My friend had the chicken. She said they were the best mashed potatoes she’s ever had. I guess the chicken was good too because she took the rest home for lunch the next day. My brother had the shrimp tacos. They will exchange the regular fries for the garlic truffle fries for $ 1. SOWORTHIT, but he didnt do that… boo. Our other friend had the burger. It looked pretty good. We had the loaded tater tots… eh, I guess tots really are just tots… they tasted like the ones I can buy in the frozen section of the grocery store, but I think that is just the nature of tots. I am certainly not insinuating that that is where they came from. The chips and dip though… delicious. And they will refill the chips if you need them to. The dip was perfect. I love french onion dip from Kroger. I love Common Quarter french onion dip more. The chips were nice and crispy and salty!!! I have to have salt on my chips.(Maybe that is why the pot roast seemed to salty to me, I had eaten a bunch of chips…) Again, wish I could have tried the cocktails, but we will save that for another day. Overall, this is a GREAT restaurant. Loved the décor. One of the things I like about Local Three and Common Quarter… they have large tables to accommodate large parties. Keep up that feature! Its reasonably priced — between $ 10 — $ 20 an entrée… so it can be as reasonably priced or as spendy as you want it to be… Comin’ back!!!

So happy my mom found this place. She knows I’m a sucker for farm to table and I will grill the wait staff on where the food is from and you better not say you’re farm to table without actually being honest about it. Common Quarter is it and hopefully they stay that way. When you walk in, you are greeted by a kind of modern-day rancher theme with an outdoor but still screened in porch where they occasionally have live music and then of course the traditional dining room. On the shelf behind the host stand, there are jars of locally made pickled ingredients, local almond butter and more. I know these vendors and I love them and love that they are being seen in this restaurant. Very clean, nicely decorated space. Our waiter was polite, knowledgeable and attentive. We went on a Wednesday night so of course it was a bit less crowded. They have different specials throughout the week so Wednesday was bottles of wine sold for half price. Pretty good deal if you’re about to buy a whole bottle of wine — which we saw people do while they were there. I personally ordered the Georgia Mountain Trout with butterbeans and creamed cream and wow… it was delicious. I’m going to attach a picture of it. My fiancé got the Mussel dish, my father — the«adventurous one» got the burger and my mother got the chicken over a salad. Everything was incredibly flavorful. We will definitely be returning. Unfortunately at this point they are not open for lunch(except for a Sunday brunch) but maybe they’re playing it safe for now. Hopefully they continue their quality, their food ethics and continue to grow. I know I’ll be back.
