I was the only customer in line. Halfway through in making my sandwich, the employee sneezes in her hands!!! She didn’t change her gloves. I didn’t even tell her to stop making the sandwich — I just turned around and walked out. They may do that in whatever third world country she may be from, but I will not tolerate it here. I will never go back, and I am going to get everybody I know that works in downtown Martinez to not go there either. Disgusting.

This Subway has a lady that steels tips from kids. My son went in and as she put his change down on the counter she took a few coins and dropped them in the tip jar. He also witnessed her doing this to a girl with a clear disability before him in line. I doubt she would attempt this on an adult but seriously, that is theft.

Very great place for a sandwhich. The vegetables are so crisp and the bread is so soft and fresh. I would go to this Subway everyday if I lived close by and not by coincidence by appearing in court for the day.

They do a good job, the place is clean, people are friendly(they struggle little bit with english), the subs taste good. I don’t understand why sometimes they charge taxes and some another times they dont. If you ask for a soda, they will not ask what size you want, you’ll get automatically a large one(they are not mean, it’s just about business) .Still, food is good, same the coffee(unexpectedly good).

I really like the Veggie Delite sandwich(since I like all veggies) and recently figured out that the egg sandwich is like any other hot sandwich at Subway, and can have all the veggies added to it also, with a little extra protein — so that’s what I look forward to on every visit. The small Martinez Subway didn’t deliver quite what I get from Walnut Creek’s Locust St. location. My cheese wasn’t entirely melted, yet the bread seemed pretty dry around the edges after baking(maybe their toaster was a little off?) I asked for all egg white, but the sheet of egg was ripped and they didn’t have any more, so the worker put half egg white and half regular egg — that was fine with me. *(My cholesterol’s 144 — I can egg all the egg yolk I want.) :) But she still should have asked. It’s not very fun to try to figure out what someone is asking you when you can’t understand them. I found myself repeatedly asking«what was that» and«can you repeat that» as I ordered my simple egg sandwich with veggies. The worker was very polite, but speaking softly with a heavy accent isn’t a great combination. The place was clean though — we ended up eating most of our sandwich in the Subway and were pleased about the cleanliness of both tables and floors.

Subway is Subway, so you know what to get, but the family that runs this one is what makes it awesome. They’re very friendly.

This place is HORRIBLE. The other reviews were right, they don’t listen to your order. And if you’re like me, when they mess up your order you feel bad making them start over. It’s a clean subway that’s why they get 2 stars. AVOID !!

Fast and friendly service with very polite workers. The store was very clean. Food was standard subway stuff.

One word to describe this eyesore? Foul. I know what you are thinking– What do you expect when you walk into a Subway? 5 star cuisine? Listen, I respect Subways. I know what they are and I know what to expect. While I don’t go to Subways thinking that I will eat the most top-notch, fresh food, I do expect to receive something that is at the very least composed of edible ingredients. This Subway delivered me a Turkey sandwich I wish I had never laid eyes on. The trough of food the employees plunge their hands into was filled with produce that looked to be rotting. The turkey meat was mangled. The condiments tasted expired. The final product was a poor excuse for an ‘eat fresh’ sandwich. Do not go here.

This place was disgusting and dirty!!! The employee that was attempting to make my sandwich did not change his gloves from when he touched cash. I was not about to eat that sandwich! And then he wiped his nose twice with the same gloves while making the sandwich. You disgusting filthy pig! I walked out! I will never go to Subway in Martinez again and I advise you not to either. I should call the health department!

I had to drop into Downtown Martinez yesterday to drop a job off at PDQ Printing. And since it was around lunch time, I thought that I’d grab a sandwich and get back to the Office, PDQ. There’s not a lot of choice for that in these parts, and it’s all complicated by the large County(including Jury) crowd looking for the same thing. This Subway is what it is and pretty much meets my already modest expectations for a quick bite, and at reasonable price. I usually gravitate to tuna fish and find myself in an internal conversation on how a Subway franchisee can make a living at this. I’m also suspicious of this Jared dude and whether he really did lose all that weight eating here. I’d rather do this test myself at a Tim Horton’s.

It looks like this Subway is under new management. I went in a few weeks ago and there was enough staff to take care of the long line and they were all very friendly. It has also been remodeled and looks very nice. We’ll see if this new Subway holds up!

Subway… Eat Fresh! Since the previous reviews I think this place has changed owners. New and improved I guess. I love this subway. I must admit I am kind of a regular. I try to get there before noon or after 1:00 because the lunch hour comes with a bit of a rush. The sandwich ladies are good! They fill my picky requests perfectly. No complaints!

More like«Subpar». I’ve eaten a good number of Subways, and never been compelled to write about any. I walked out while they made my sandwhich and have never felt compelled to return because: The first straw was finding the paper that the cheese comes on in my sandwich. The second and final straw was going in for a sandwich, and them talking about me not being able to make a decision about what I wanted in Spanish. I’m a gringo but understand enough. To sum it up, bad food, worse service, and not even«Good for Martinez»…

Jury Duty? Need a lunch? Cheap, fast, nothing weird? If you are willing to walk a few more steps, you can have a freshly made sandwich(and a greater variety) radther than Mc D’s for lunch. This, is mainly for those reporting as good citizens for jury duty and is not familiar of the Martinez area as I wasn’t. They still have those«daily specials» but I couldn’t resist the $ 5 footlong. yea! Staff friendly, gets busy at 12 – 1, pretty clean and enough seats.
