Where have you been all my life??? Fettuccini Carbonara was a. Fresh pasta, sautéed chicken the best. Beats anything in San Francisco by a mile! Desserts are outstanding. Server made me feel like family! Casual dress!!! Already making plans to bring family here?

I have always liked the food here, but I am consistently annoyed that the lunch salad portions are small for the price. And if you get a cup of soup it’s the size of a kid’s tea party set! They could definitely step up the portion size for the price.

A few months ago I gave Haute Stuff another try. I went to lunch with co-workers. I ordered the veggie sandwich. My food arrived 15 minutes after everyone else’s. Today I got a half spinach salad to go. Normally the spinach salad has red cabbage and hard boiled eggs. I guess they were out of those items. I just got a very small serving of spinach with dressing for $ 6.51. I want to support Haute Stuff because it’s a small business, but it just can’t seem to get it right.

So far this place has food that tastes ok. The staff seems nice. The food came out and was oily. I ordered the bistro burger and the bottom bun was really greasy. The fries tasted great except they where greasy too. It was almost like the fries where put into oil that wasn’t hot enough so it just soaked it up as it cooked. However, there in house naked bread was amazing. I think I will try a desert and then I will try this place one more time to see if it was just what I ordered or it is the place.

This place is amazing! The min you walk in you are greeted with bread and the best dip. No need to ask for water. The bistro steak was on point and the chicken fricassi was perfect. The vegetables were tender and everything was cooked to order no salt or pepper needed.

I live in Martinez and my other half and I eat dinner here a couple of times a month. It is one of our favorite local date night places and we have never left unhappy or still hungry. Portion sizes are generous but not overwhelming — when we’re not starving we frequently split a salad and an entrée(no extra charge to split)… my favorites are the veggie lasagna or whatever ravioli they’re serving(it changes)… my daughter is a big fan of the mac n cheese. Service is always friendly — we usually wind up with the same server and although she can get a bit stretched thin at times(when it’s busy) — she’s easy to wave over and she’s always smiling… very bubbly and engaging — I’ve never left frustrated or unhappy with service. The ceilings are vaulted so I’m hesitant to use the word cozy… but it is warm and inviting and the tables are well spaced so it is easy to achieve a feeling of intimacy and the kitchen is open and easily visible(which I like). I love that it is a locally owned small business and the downtown location is especially convenient for us.

The food was fine but the service was seriously lacking. After bringing out entrée, our waitress did not return to check on us once until we were nearly finished eating. We wanted additional beverages. She did not seem to notice my glass was empty nor react when I mentioned I had wanted a second beer but it was too late. We watched her wiping down menus and doing other things to close up while making no eye contact with us. It seemed like the crew was more interested in getting to that glass of wine they all shared in the open kitchen then taking great care of customers. We arrived at 8:15. They closed at 9.

I love Haute Stuff!!! Me and my husband usually go there for dinner once a week.(They only have dinner Thursday-Saturday night.) I always get the salmon. They cook it perfect every time! We also love the burger, which has a really yummy aioli sauce on it. And really any pasta on the menu is a winner! They have a great wine selection too and the staff there is just so friendly!!! If you’re in the Martinez area you MUST try them for dinner. You won’t be disappointed !

Haute Stuff used to be a good standby. But, based on recent experiences, I don’t expect to dine here anytime soon(unless I eat with someone else and that person wants to eat here). A couple months ago, I went here for lunch. I ordered the Turkey Avocado sandwich. After waiting for almost half an hour, a gentleman brought out a BLT, explained he had accidentally given my sandwich to someone else, and asked if I wanted the BLT. I accepted the BLT only because I had waited so long. Later, I came with a group of 6. A few of us got wrong orders after a long wait, and had to wait even longer to have those orders corrected. A few weeks ago, staff successfully provided a french dip to go in a fairly timely manner. I was pleased, and the sandwich was good. Today, after a long wait, I had to ask the staff about the status of the order before staff bagged it up. It had been sitting on the counter waiting. The sandwich, a turkey melt, also was just so-so. It would have been better with turkey breast meat instead of the warm cold cuts that were used. I hope Haute Stuff can figure out what has gone wrong and reclaim its spot as a go-to place to get good food quickly(and orders correctly fulfilled). These are not insurmountable problems, but they will require attention.

Awesome food and customer service! Pre-baby my husband and I would come here weekly for a nice dinner and glass of wine. They even kept our favorite wine in stock for us all the time. Now since we are«with baby» we don’t get to go as much but this is hands down our first pick for date nights and anniversaries! And if family is visiting … Truth be told any excuse works for us

see what this place was trying to attempt, but it completely misses the mark. This place is completely ghetto. Food was terrible and overpriced. There was no creativity or any unique flavors that came out of this restaurant. I don’t think that this building is up to health code as you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom. Very bad customer service. Server was inattentive and had no idea what she was doing. There was literally two tables there at the time and it took her 45 minutes to bring us our check. This place is lame.

I went here yesterday afternoon for a quick lunch. The place wasn’t too packed, but they took forever before serving us(about 20 minutes, does that count as forever?) I had the California Club and my friend had the pastrami sandwich. Both were just okay. The pastrami was pretty dry and they put a bunch of thousand island(?) on it which took over the whole taste of the sandwich. When they brought me my club, they completely forgot to provide me my side(beet salad), so when it was brought to me I asked about it. They had already run out. The guy said we should have received it from the cashier, but he never gave it to us. There seemed to be a lot of miscommunication between the staff. So they gave me a fruit salad instead, which isn’t really what I wanted. My friend ended up eating most of it.

Excellent food in downtown Martinez. Seasonal weekly menu that is prepared with farm fresh ingredients. They also have a super selection of wines that pair nicely with the menu offerings. Servers are excellent and the atmosphere is warm.

I try to dine here every time I am in Martinez. I live in New York and wish I had Haute Stuff there! That’s how good it is! If you like amazing food that is better then some of the«best restaurants“in the world, this is your place!

Had a training out in Martinez and found this place on Unilocal for lunch. Nice place for lunch– highly recommend if you’re in the area. Reasonable prices, great food– that’s all I look for in life :) The sandwiches are huge. The half sandwich with salad is a perfect amount for lunch. Great variety, good service. Can get crowded at lunch. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Gave haute stuff a second chance and it was still a poor excuse for lunch. Super over dressed salad with barely any of the protein element in it… or anything but lettuce and dressing for that matter. It took the person behind the counter almost no time to make, simply because there was hardly anything in it. So unappealing that I couldn’t finish.

I really wanted to like this place but alas it was horrible. I ordered the burger, the ½ angus burger and was outraged that such a nice piece of meat was cooked oh so badly. I asked for medium, true medium with pink in the middle. What I got was a shriveled, dry, burnt to a crisp piece of meat that literally tasted like dirt. My question is, how on earth can you overcook a piece of meat so badly and think that it is acceptable for human consumption? The worst part was that the food took so long to come out that I could’nt send it back without missing my train. More dishes: one friend got the $ 23 salmon and was given 3 small bitesized pieces. Give me a break! Another friend got the asian chicken salad and was given a couple dry pieces of chicken with overcooked noodles and bland dressing. Half the table would’ve actually sent back the food if we weren’t there for a friends birthday and had to stay on schedule. So so so so disappointing! I don’t go to Martinez often but if I do again I will be staying very far away from this place.

The many and consistently good reviews on Unilocal are what brought me here to Haute Stuff and I will be adding my own good recommendation, but with a caveat: Everything is relative, and while Haute Stuff is really good by Martinez standards it may disappoint those of you who are expecting more refinement and exotica. Three of us had a very nice meal here tonight and for less than $ 70 all in. The food was tasty and prepared just right, our server was very sweet and attentive, and because we called in advance and made a reservation they had a window table waiting for us. They started us off with the usual bread and water but also brought out a plate of bruschetta, complimentary. Figs are one of my favorite fruit and bacon is one of my favorite food groups and so we had to get the figs stuffed with blue cheese and wrapped in bacon. These were as delicious as the ingredients suggest, and well plated too. Our main courses included garlic and pesto encrusted chicken, meatloaf, and a cobb salad. I was a bit disappointed that the«couscous» which was supposed to be served with the chicken turned out to be pasta balls instead of balls of durum wheat. The pasta balls just didn’t seem substantial and were a cheap substitute, but otherwise the chicken was delicious. The cobb salad was generously endowed with tender chicken breast and thick bacon sections. The meatloaf was decent. Overall Haute Stuff was competent in every way, but the menu and the décor lacked flair and I left thinking«Gee, that place seemed like a really good diner!» Sadly, it did not live up to the literal translation of its name.
