I love all thai resturants throughout the east bay and bay area but none compared to the service of Peter and lemon grass passed the highway 4 area. Keep up the good work and service !! See u soon

This place is definitely a hidden gem. The staff there are very nice and quick to provide great hospitality. The food is outstanding and have to say the mango chicken is my favorite but literally I could there every week and try something new and so far have loved everything I’ve tried. Also the wine list is surprisingly really good for being a small restaurant in martinez. I definitely recommend not only trying this place once but a few times at least because there are so many great things to try.

This place is the best place to eat for miles in any direction — no hyperbole just the simple truth. Their red curry with chicken makes my mouth water just thinking about it. At my request they bring out a bowl of hot Thai chili peppers in fish oil for turning the heat quotient up to dangerous levels. Its just amazing. Avocado rolls are really fresh and ‘clean’ tasting. My fiancée loves the fried banana and ice cream. Everything I’ve ever ordered here has ranged from good to excellent. Their soup is good but does not dazzle me like many of their other dishes. Bring your coat, jacket or sweater because its cold inside. We are so fortunate to have this exceptional place in Martinez because much as I love this city, it is for the most part a desolate culinary wasteland of mediocrity. Superb.

I’ve eating here a few times and the food and service was good. The desert of fried banana and coconut ice cream is the best. BUT the last time I was there and I mean the last time. there was a(I called it a cricket) in my glass of water, they gave me my dinner free and I haven’t been back.

Wow… I was looking for a restaurant in Martinez to take some customers for a business lunch. I consulted Unilocal and found Lemongrass. If I lived in the Martinez area, I’d be here once a week. The food was incredible — — we started out with the samosas. Quite good. For lunch, I ordered the stir fried red curry — Red curry paste sautéed with coconut milk, carrots, bell peppers, string beans, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, squash, and sweet basil. $ 9.50. It was perfection in terms of Thai food. The flavors stand out — definitely someone knows what they are doing in terms of spices. The food came out SO quickly. So important for busy people on their lunch break who don’t want to wait forever. I can’t wait to come back here again.

We don’t even need menus when we go here, my 88 year old Grandma comes from GILROY to have lunch with me at this place. We have brought many family members here. The eggplant w pork and brown rice, ugh I am salivating now. TRY the fried banana and ice cream, I swear it’ll be worth it.

I can’t stand the dips from the Martinez roads, but we do have Lemongrass Bistro still bringing us back. You almost wish this restaurant had a more grand appearance to go along with the quality of food every time. Then again, this is THE place you bring somebody to show them what a hidden gem is supposed to look like. The servers and even better, the owners themselves provide a recognizable name for themselves in Martinez. Luckily enough, you only have to sort Unilocal by their ratings to find them. Serving sizes are definitely fair, and I’ll accept the idea of paying more if I wanted more. While I’ve only tried the dinner though multiple times, it’s safe to say that each dish they serve is thought out and memorable relative to comparable restaurants. There just might be a time I try them all out.

Good good stuff! Friends showed us this place. This place is in the restaurant area of Martinez… we went there in the middle of the week about an hour from closing time… needless to say parking and traffic was relatively easy… so knows how it is during the day or on the weekends. I heard the chicken wings were really good so we started with that… along of course with Pad-thai, Tom Kha soup, and the Grilled Beef. The wings were awesome! A little crispness to it with a sweet chilli sauce that was sooo good. The Tom Kah had Salmon in it instead of the the typical chicken or shrimp which was new to us. but i thought works very well in completing a soup filled with flavor. The Grilled Beef was tender and served with this Cilantro sauce that. i swear.i could’ve had a gallon of. Yum yum yum. i would definitely recommend this place for your Thai-food cravings

We came here for our first Valentine’s date :) We had outside table. It was perfect with the flower trees and christmas lights. And of course the FOOD… so GOOD. I will trust with anything on their menu. When we have guests visiting us, we take them to this place. I love their service and enjoy their interior design(great paintings). Always a pleasure to visit.

What a find! Amazing food, reasonable prices, and a cute atmosphere. The service was great. We recently moved to Martinez after previously living in Oakland, San Francisco and New Orleans. So I am a bit of a food snob, and this is as good if not better than any Thai food I have had in those places! Looking forward to my next meal here.

I came here with friends after a hike in the area. I order the garlic prawns and they were good but the dish was lacking. What you get for $ 14 is about six prawns covered in a garlic sauce(tons of garlic) on a bed of spaghetti. Once you mix everything then the garlic sauce coats the spaghetti very well. So here’s my problem… That’s all you get! No veggies, no onions, peppers, chilies… Nothing. It’s not worth the price IMO. I took my food home and sautéed some veggies to add to it and it was a lot better. If I wanted to cook my own food, I would have stayed home and saved my money. I would go back and try something else if I was already in the area but I wouldn’t make a special trip here.

One word — yum! The hubs and I ordered the Grilled Beef and Drunken Noodles to share. We couldn’t choose which was our favorite. The Grilled a Beef had a generous portion of tri-tip which was very tender and flavorful. The cilantro lime dipping sauce was delish. We’re not huge cilantro fans but this sauce had a really nice balance of flavors. The Drunken Noodles Aka Pad Kee Mao were delish too. Really nice balance of herbs and spices. This is one of my favorite Thai dishes and theirs is the best I’ve had so far. Bonus points for having decaffeinated, unsweetened tea too.

Came here for lunch during the week and had an a-okay meal. I ordered the red curry lunch special with beef. There were more veggies than beef but the veggies were good. I asked for Thai spicy and it was very mild. Service was good. Overall, a good Thai place but nothing stood out about my meal.

This place seriously deserves 5 stars for taste, consistency, and cleanliness. And service is pretty good too. Been here quite a few times already and everyone who has been here, loves it. To me, Lemongrass is more of an Asian fusion restaurant than purely Thai. It really is a great restaurant in the middle of no where! Btw, the restroom is clean and the large ceiling fans will cool u off. I usually order the grilled beef. There are 5 or 6 thin slices of tender grilled beef, generous portions. The chimichurri sauce is so good, I just want to drink it and slather it on everything. I m addicted. The red curry is not too spicy and has a great balance of meat and veggies. The deep fried banana and mango ice cream are also satisfying. Although, the ice cream didnt taste mango-y to me, but more caramel… m b my taste buds were off. No one else complained tho. I asked everyone about all their dishes and there were no complaints. Just order anything, it will taste good, trust me! Just do it! My coworker ordered the off the menu item… Vietnamese crêpe(bun sell in Vietnamese) not many viet restaurants even offer this classic viet dish. Crêpe is made with floury eggy batter enveloping ground pork, shrimp, and bean sprouts inside. Comes with lettuce, other veggies, rice noodles, and fish sauce. You put it together and eat it as lettuce wrap. Its light but filling, like eating a big salad. I will have to bring my mom here so she can tell me if its the real deal.

This is hands down the BEST Thai restaurant I have been to in the East Bay(and to think it’s right around the corner in my hometown?!). It’s located off the corner of the street full of restaurants and shops in Downtown Martinez. I love the local, cozy feel to the area, but once you go inside, the entire ambiance has the setup of a low-key sit-down fine dining experience. It’s rather small but charming. You wait to get seated, they sit you down as you look over the menu. The walls and décor are bistro-like. There’s a beautiful back bar counter that leads to the back kitchen. I went on a late Friday night and the place was PACKED! Although the seats are right next to each other, it’s still spacious and comfy enough for your private table. They offer favorite Thai dishes of all kinds – noodles, soups, grills, curries, etc. My dinner with mom and brother consisted of the Yellow Curry with Chicken, Pad Thai with Vegetables and Tofu, and Grilled Eggplant with Tofu and Vegetables. The contrast of flavors and full-bodied experience balanced SO well. The yellow curry was DELICIOUS eaten with jasmine rice, as it was full and flavorful and mildly spicy, as the white chicken absorbed the comforting flavor. The Pad Thai noodles were cooked well – just how I like it both sweet and spicy to make it a savory dish. The Eggplant dish was a nice vegetable to add to the meal and balanced everything well. We also decided to end with their Fried Banana with Coconut/Mango Ice Cream. And WOW – I’ve had Filipino fried bananas but this was a seared crispy shell with a super tender and sweet banana inside that cut just like butter. The coconut ice cream – as our waiter recommended – is the best and pairs well with it. One order comes with 2 bananas and 2 scoops of ice cream. Overall, I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on this place for the years I’ve grown up here. It’s a small, charming and so promising gem as one of the top-rated businesses over Unilocal in the East Bay. I now understand why and would love to make a go for this place again!(Though, it is a sit-down – therefore prices aren’t for daily eating – and only eat here on occasion!)

SO this is a great little spot in Downtown Martinez– I know it doesn’t sound like a dining paradise– but its more of a culinary oasis. I went for lunch, they were crowded, but not packed. They have a well decorated dining room great local artist expressionist paintings on the walls– and some great lunch specials. I had Sliced BBQ Beef with an excellent sweet cilantro sauce, fresh wild brown rice and greens. I was impressed for $ 12 it was a large portion, everything was cooked to perfection and the wait staff was friendly and quick. I’d definitely check this place out-for lunch or dinner. Lunch time you’re competing with the staff from the county buildings int he area, dinner not so much.
