The food and service both were good. Quantity of serving was also good. Only reason I am not giving them 4+ star is because the food was not extra ordinary. I will go again.

The food and service is always consistent — we really like the staff, good people and always stop by the table to chat.

Fantastic margaritas. V good service and good food. I would happily go back. My mom liked it too – especially the margaritas! The fried ice cream was also worth a mention.

This place is a must go! The food is excellent, the service is outstanding, and the price is right! We take the family here often, and always have a terrific meal. We particularly enjoy their fajitas and their Burritos Enamorado. If that isn’t enough, consider this example of their outstanding and personal customer service. Example: While out of state, my elderly mother became very ill and was house-bound. While recovering, she was running low on food and couldn’t get to the grocery store. I called El Caporal, and asked if they would deliver her a meal(Chicken Fajitas, her favorite). Although they do not deliver food(solely«dine in» or «pick up»), the manager was compassionate and immediately agreed to deliver her a meal within 10 mins! I offered to pay for gas, mileage, time… whatever, but he refused any extra compensation. The meal was delivered on time, and my mother was extremely appreciative, and thoroughly enjoyed her dinner. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants not only a great meal but a phenomenal, family-oriented staff.

Excellent food and service. Great friendly atmosphere and great frozen margaritas. Very inexpensive. A must try if you are in the Mason area.

we recently moved to Mason and my husband wanted to try this place. We went the last month and I liked the environment. The food taste was just ok. we ordered some enchiladas that was in the menu picture and we ended up tasting a very normal food and I definitely did not find anything interesting in the taste or in the menu. I will not go back to this place for sure. I would rather go to Chipotle or Qdoba.

We were not fans based on our first visit almost 4 years ago. We gave El Cap another chance and glad we did. This our go to Mexican spot when the«what are we doing for dinner» question comes up. The place is loud and very casual– perfect for our two boys. The wait staff is very friendly and accommodating, again great for kids. The food is good and comes out quickly. Pricing is reasonable and the drinks are good.

Not a bad experience by any means. My only gripe and why I’ve gave it three stars is that it really is nothing special. Average food, but service was good and reasonably priced. Just didn’t have that wow factor.

Love this place. My favorite place to get fajitas because I like them well done and if you ask for it, that’s exactly how they will do them. Also got a strawberry margarita and it was nice & strong!

Last night we brought a friend who is from Turkey to El Cap!!! The service is good and servers are always friendly and they know what’s by name. The pollo Jalisco is always outstanding! You won’t find on the menu is always a special it is a chicken breast that is pounded and grilled covered with Mexican cheese shrimp spinach and zucchini!!‘if you ever go there this is one dish you must have!!‘The burrito especial is filled with a wonderfu butl not too hot chorizo!‘we will always come back as our favorite and best Mexican restaurant ever!!!

Went there this past weekend. Got in right away but it was loud. The chips were good and hot. The salsa had a great spice(not heat but spice) to it kind of a smokey pepper maybe chipotle added. The queso was good. I got the chile poblano rellenos because our waiter stated the difference between the and the chile rellenos was the pepper and then I asked if meat was in the poblano he stated yes. It was still very good but no meat! Oops. Husband got a steak and it was great cut up. There was nothing wrong but the comment about the salsa is what makes it stand out and nothing else but the noise to lower the rating so it is your normal mex restaurant good quick and tasty!

Great fun! The best margaritas at a great price! I’m pretty sure they bought our wings from b-find but they were good too!

Service wasn’t as friendly and quick as I remember. Burrito Especial was delicious. Also the guacamole was good, but didn’t seem mixed well(flavors were different throughout).

I love this place! The wait staff is almost always friendly and accommodating. I enjoy how chips are brought over right after ordering drinks– good chips and good salsa! The portions are a little larger than expected, but whose complaining? It’s great to save and warm up later. My criticisms are small– it can be hard to find parking, especially on busy weekend nights and the seating(depending on where you are seated) can be less private than desired. Overall 4 stars– love!

El Corporal is one of my favorite Mexican places in Cincinnati. Their tacos are fresh made and the chicken tortilla soup is so so tasty! I often visit this place for lunch with friends who work in the area and have to say I have never been disappointed. They have good beers on tap. The only downside is that their hot salsa is never hot enough for me. But I live on the spicy side of life. I’m sure it’s hot enough for most other people. Definitely check this place out.

We live very close to El Caporal but had never bothered to come here. They are kind of a mini-chain, they have a few locations in Kentucky, one in Indiana and one here in Mason, Ohio. The interior is pretty clean and well kept. We really were just looking for a quick meal and I really wanted nachos, so we got the Queso Fundido(a Mexican fondue-style dish with chorizo and served with tortillas) and the beef, bean and cheese nachos. The food came quickly and was as good as we hoped it would be. The salsa was fairly standard, the chips were warm and crispy, and everything was overall pretty good. For being in a hurry they were accommodating and friendly. It was after normal dinner hours too so they weren’t busy. I plan on coming back for a full meal to properly review them, but so far I think they are way better than Cazadores right around the corner.

Had Dinner here on Saturday night. The service was fabulous as was the food. We both had the medium size Margarita’s and they were very cold; very tasty and big. The Salsa and Cheese Sauce was some of the very best we have tasted. The Salsa was not watery and it was very flavorful … same goes for the cheese sauce which had small bits of chili pepper in it. I had a huge burrito that was filled with spicy pulled pork, onions and Jalapeño Peppers. It was delicious, spicy and hot! My only criticism at this point would be they could do a lot more with the inside of the place. The food and drink was great and we will be going back. Prices are very reasonable.

El Carporal is very similar to El Rancho Grande; the prices, menu items, and quality are almost exactly the same. I really like the clean interior, price points, and speed of El Carporal. The nachos and dip are pretty standard but their queso is a bit better vs. other comparable restaurants. Similar to El Rancho Grande, El Caporal is great for groups as well.

Last week some friends from work and I were going to lunch. We’d planned to eat Indian, but since we had to go earlier than normal, the Indian restaurant wasn’t open. Fortunately for us, El Caporal was open at 11:00. It was a total win. They had a great selection of your typical Mexican fare; however, the end product was way better than typical. I thought they had a nice array of vegetarian dishes. Everything seemed very fresh and was very generously sized for a very reasonable price. As usual, there were free chips and salsa… this salsa had a big bite, but I still couldn’t stop eating it even though my lips and tongue were on fire. All five of us deemed this place a keeper. I can’t wait to go back and try it for dinner. Oh, and if you get there at 11:00 on a Friday, you’ll get your choice of seats.
