Great Reuben sandwiches, fresh baked bread – everything we have ever had here has been good. Very busy at noon but they seated us within a few minutes.

One of the hidden treasures of the hill country… Mason… boasts one of the best and least pretentious restaurants. The Square Plate features a tasty pork tenderloin, crusty outside and tender, juicy and perfectly cooked inside. Fresh green beans lightly sauteed and perfectly seasomed is the perfect counterpoint to a perfectly zingy raspberry sauce on the meat. A fresh mixed salad with homemade dressing and fresh buttered bread leave just enough room for perfect bread pudding with a light and delicately seasoned vanilla custard sauce. service is attentive with graet small town pricing.

Great little place. Quick, friendly service. The burger was amazing — excellent char, terrific bun and excellent portion. Really wished for French fries — they serve potato salad or kettle chips with the burger. Beware ordering a soft drink means that you will get a glass of ice and a cold 12oz can of some for $ 1.75! Otherwise we were very well pleased with our lunch stop here. Worth a stop here to try it out.
