I was in Mason for a few days on business. The food was great. The bar was fantastic. By the second night I was a regular. The bartenders were very friendly and fun. I didn’t want to leave

Loved the Willow Creek Café. Our ranch in Llano is about a 30 minute drive but it was well worth it! We will be back.

We stop in this little gem every time we’re going through Mason. The rolls are hot, dense and gooood. Hubby orders the party melt every visit, so I guess it’s that good. The chicken fingers, veggie burger, and portabella sandwich are all really good. The battered fries and onion rings are crispy. The waitstaff is always friendly and the restaurant is always clean. It was just as good as I remembered today. We’ll be coming back for sure!

We get to Mason about once a year around Thanksgiving and this is the restaurant we look forward to! It is consistently delicious! They have huge portions and the best fried chicken strips, steak fingers, and burgers. I’m sure everything is good but it is hard to pass up the steak fingers(at least for me!) We highly recommend this restaurant for a delicious home cooked style meal!

Beautiful building, and the menu looked great; however, we got up and left prior to eating due to the rude and inattentive wait staff. Server argued with me about my lunch selection. No smiles from either server, and we seemed to be an imposition.

We have eaten here three times while visiting Mason. Food is prepared well but nothing outstanding. However, the homemade pies are a definite plus that you should not pass up. Good table service but checkout is slow. We would eat here again.

Driving through on a Friday afternoon and stopped for lunch. Was busy so figured good place to eat. I stood at the door for while while ppl watched me be nothing said«seat yourself» Waited about 10 min for someone to even LOOK at me. Finally my drink order was taken and given a menu. Opted for the shrimp special 9.99 with one trip to the salad bar a roll and baked potato. Salad bar was shredded salad dressing tomatoes and that’s about it(unless you like pasta salad on your salad). Food came out quick. Not bad but nothing special. Overall just average experience. I gave them credit for being rush lunch on a Friday.

This was such a great surprise to find in Mason, TX. This is a café/bar with a warm and authentic ambiance. The menu has good selection of salads, entrees and homemade desserts. The service is fast, professional and friendly. We had a hamburger with sweet potato fries. It was top notch. Several nearby diners were having the daily special, fried chicken pieces with potatoes, homemade bread and cream gravy. It looked wonderful. We will definitely stop in next time we go through Mason.

Worst service I’ve ever experienced. Waitress was extremely disrespectful and we waited an hour to get our food. Manager was unhelpful and food was very overpriced. Would NOT recommend.

After a hot morning hunting for Topaz here in Mason, the café was an excellent place to stop and eat lunch. The chicken fried steak was huge and delicious and the hamburger steak reminded me of Grandma’s homemade ones with delicious brown gravy. The boys’ steak fingers only came with 3, but as one exclaimed, «what kind of animal has fingers that big?». To which the only reply was Sasquatch! Needless to say the service was as good as the food and our family was full to the brim and happy! Find this place, and have a good old-fashioned lunch!

Stopped in for breakfast on our way back to Oklahoma. Everything was clean and tidy and the food was fantastic. I read a review about how great the chicken fried steak was and it didn’t disappoint. Also ordered the Huevos Rancheros and it was great as well. Would recommend to anyone traveling through!

Great place for lunch! I had the fried shrimp, which came with salad bar, and the hubby had the special of the day, which was hamburger steak, and it came with German chocolate cake. Portions are pretty hefty. Everything here was homemade, from the bread to the desserts, and what a selection! They had cheesecake, pies, ice cream… We’ll have to save room for next time!

Food is good, though prices are rather high for a diner. However, portions are fairly large. When we went back for pie(because we were too full the first time), all they had was lemon meringue. Meh.(My mother’s lemon icebox pie is WAY better.) I’m sure the coconut would have been much better if we had been able to get it.

Great place for breakfast! The Puncher taco is huge and well with the money. Their biscuits are the best I’ve ever had. My husband had the Southwest omelet and really enjoyed it. The service was friendly and timely but we weren’t rushed to leave. If your in Mason, it’s worth stopping.

I became vegan several months ago and have a tough time finding restaurants with non-meat chouces. It’s been a few years since I ate at Willow Creek Café, but I was invited to lunch there. I figured that I would just have the salad bar. When I opened the menu I was surprised to see that they serve not only a salad bar, but also a veggie buger, a portabela burger, and a portabela sandwich(both on homemade bread). I had the portabela burger which was stacked high with grilled mushrooms and grilled onions. It was absolutely delicious. We come th Mason once a year for 2 – 5 weeks. I’ll be eating a lot more meals at Willow Creek Café.

Was out on the motorcycle and got caught in a rainstorm. Stopped by this wonderful place to wait out the weather. The sign said to seat myself, so I did. Only a moment or two later the server brought me a menu. I told her I only wanted desert as I was waiting on the weather. She ran down the options, and I went for red velvet cake, ice cream, and a glass of water. The cake was outstanding. Yum-o! I don’t know who made it was delicious. The ice cream was average, but went well with the cake. The water tastes just exactly like water should. The place was not busy, but there were three or four other tables. There may have been more people in the back, but I didn’t go look. It was super clean, and right on the square, so a great spot for people watching. I will gladly come back next time I ce through Mason!

Worst breakfast I’ve had in a long time! Coffee was cold, grits were cold & soupy, biscuits were hard. Will not eat here again.

The building is pretty cool inside. It used to be an old Ford Model A dealership. Got the chicken fried steak, it was huge and tasted good. Service was good also.

Sometimes I will go out of my way to drive through Mason and stop at the Willow Creek. I have only been here for breakfast and it is amazing. The pancakes are huge(the waitress will let you know when you try to order three). I usually go for the eggs and an anything with toast. I am not sure if they make the bread there or if it is homemade but it sure does taste like it is. The building is a nicely kept building in older downtown Mason. Inside there is plenty of room to sit and lots of windows. Willow Creek is one of my favorite places in the Hill Country.
