Fame Diner

I ordered two bagels via Seamless. They delivered it after 1 hour and it was already cold! It was pricey too considering we paid 10.95 for a bagel with lox and cream cheese! Might not order again from Fame Diner.

Since the owner George passed away, the place is going down. Every time we order lately, either it’s not what was ordered, and a sub. Was sent or the order is missing something.
He was a very nice man, always knew him as George
Just stating my recent experiences

Haven’t been to Fame in a while but when we’d visit my Dad in Maspeth, before he passed away, we ate there a lot. It was my Dad’s favorite and it became ours. For breakfast I always enjoyed the Irish breakfast and French toast was great. One of our dinner faves was the eggplant parm. Thought it was the best in the neighborhood. Friendly staff and great people. Miss it a lot! Need Fame here in eastern Idaho!

I’ve been a regular for 30 plus years and Hope I can add another 30…

SHAME on FAME!
We just had breakfast there (as we do many Sunday’s) but today — being Fathers Day — the bill was 20% HIGHER than every other Sunday because, «We don’t have specials on holidays «.
What a ripoff. This is a local Queens diner — not a parking garage near Radio City at Christmas.
He even charged us for a coffee refill — FULL PRICE — even though he just topped it off
Our last ‘holiday breakfast’ there and perhaps our last meal there ever!

Great diner a but pricey though. The staff is great and the menu is large. Love the blackened chicken wrap. Great variety

I’ve been coming to Fame for my whole life. I always loved the food. The Spanish Omelette, French Toast, Spinach Pie, Meatloaf, and Filet of Sole are all delicious. I’ve always enjoyed every soup they’ve made and their deserts are excellent. One thing I love is that they have a machine to make Freshly squeezed orange juice, not all diners offer this. The Freshly squeezed is expensive but well worth it! It’s a nice atmosphere inside and everyone always seems friendly. Although it’s looks like just an ordinary diner, my experience is always 5 STARS!

Just ordered chicken fingers with sweet potatoe fries and a drink. They charged me $ 17.37 for this. I eat there all the time and it has never come out so high. Nor do they give you a receipt to see if the driver is trying to make some extra money. Also how can you mess up chicken fingers? One of them is so thick and large that it wasn’t even fully cooked.
I used to come here a few times a month now I’ll just go to the other diner across the street. I will not be over charged for something that costs 12 bucks when you dine in. Good luck.
Update. After speaking with the manager and seeing how much they do care about their customer service and how they will change their business practices. I will give them the benifit of the doubt and rate them on my positive years of being a customer and not this bad case. I will order again and see if they actually start charging correctly with receipts given.

On the food, I’d give it 3 stars. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheddar, bacon, and fries. It was ok I guess… standard diner food, nothing spectacular.
I ordered on seamless, and when the delivery guy got here, he called to tell me that he doesn’t «do elevators» because he was trapped in one for 3 hours some time ago, and he would have taken the stairs but he cant find the stairwell (I live on the 6^th floor). Though disappointed and recovering from a bad ankle sprain, I hobbled down to the lobby. The 2 stars not only comes from this restaurant hiring a delivery guy that doesn’t «do elevators» but also because this guy smelled horrible! He reeked of cigarettes and body odor. Everything about him looked gross to include his hands. Yuk! The bag that my food was in even smelled like him, which makes me assume that his car smells bad too. Given he was apologetic about not wanting to deliver the food to my door, but that doesn’t excuse his disgusting odor and appearance. I smelled and inspected the food before I ate it and it was ok.
Moral of the story, if you want diner food, don’t have it delivered. [I knew this already, but my injury caused me to rule against my better judgement]

So disappointing. I ordered a vegetable wrap and lentil soup. The wrap was so bland and super greasy, literally dripping out of the soaked tortilla wrap. I was starving and couldn’t even bring myself to eat it. The fries were the same, bland and way too greasy. Even the pickle was bad (I didn’t know that was even possible). The 1 star is for the lentil soup, which was actually pretty good.

Typical diner located on Grand Ave in Queens. Staff is attentive and quick. Had the Turkey club, which was nice with crisp bacon. Fiancé had an Omelette and hash browns. Will have to go there a few more times to see if this place gets bumped up to 4 stars. They do plenty of specials.

I order from grub hub always and there amazing. Never have an issues with my order and there breakfast is amazing never cold food. The deliver people very kind as well. French toast and homefries so yummy.

On occasion, I will go out looking for a decent hamburger. You know, the basic two-​handed meat burger with no extras like swiss or sauteed onions. Maspeth’s Fame Diner is not the place to get one of those. The burgers taste like a meat product not even found in mid-​western or southern states. What inedible animal did they hunt down to get that nasty tang?

The only place on grub hub in the area that has that big selection of desserts. Haha! And delivery is usually very fast. Food is a bit off sometimes but 5 star for fast service and desserts selection yay

Had go give them a poor review, i walked in and first of all no eye contact waited 5 minutes just to be told to go to the other register to order. I talked to the guy with a mohawk and contacts and this guy had an attitude i told him to separate an egg from my waffles and just gave me an attitude but he got it done at the end. I would have tipped him for the service if it was good but no they didnt do a good job it looked like they just wanted the money and the day to be over. I was expecting to be a good experience so i can come back but no i rather drive farther and get much better service. To finalize the food wasnt the best either my waffle tasted more like a pancake.

Mixed bag here. Ordered the Spanish omelette once, which tasted horrible. The pancakes arent bad tho, and I also liked the Cheese omelette. This place also has very nice service, one of my friends started annoying a waitress about an omelette, and the waitress just smiled and did her best. Nice place if you just wanna grab breakfast, but not really a destination.

This is a diner a great one at that ! I never needs to ask for water I never need to ask a coffee place is ran like a well lubricated machine ! I appreciate that ! No hipster nonsense. The banana Walnut pancakes are incredible. Cheese omelette always cheesy.

My girl and I ordered the vegetable wrap & colossal burger with fries ($ 25). She did not enjoy the wrap at all. it seemed to be a little greasey. The burger didn’t taste good either. The meat had no flavoring. Later we both ended up with stomach pains… yeah my toilet will never forgive this place…

I love Fame Diner!!! You can order absolutely anything and I promise you wont be disappointed. It was take out and the delivery was pretty quick.
Today I had, Chicken scampi over flavored rice, it was sooo good. The rice was nicely seasoned and the herbed chicken were cooked nicely.
I also had veggie soup. Who would of thought a vegetable soup could taste soo good? Not me! But I was impressed. The bread pudding was nice and the cheesecake was awesome. They even called back to ask if I wanted fresh strawberry fruit or preserves on my cheesecake. Whaaat? What a pleasant surprise.
