A Pampered Bride

Andrea and her assistant did an EXCELLENT job! I really can’t say enough about her work, attention to detail, and service. I arranged for my wedding to be in Maui and organized it from California. For close to a year, Andrea and I exchanged emails about pricing, styles, logistics, etc. Andrea was very prompt in responding and totally understanding about pricing/​wedding costs. She was very flexible and very helpful, with a lot of good recommendations. Even up till the day before the event, Andrea was very flexible as I didn’t know where my bridesmaids and myself would be located to prepare for the wedding. Andrea was very prompt that day and she/​her assistant were a joy to work with as they both assured myself and my bridesmaids of how they would prepare our make-​up. Andrea main priority I could tell was ensuring we were all relaxed, comfortable, and looked our best. I appreciated her advice and help from make-​up on my face, to neck/​chest/​back given I was wearing a strapless dress, to how to take out the veil if I wanted it out during the dinner and after to ceremony to how to put on my dress with make-​up and how my bridesmaids could help. She even made sure I had extra bobby pins, lip gloss/​lipstick, and hairspray in case there were any flyaways. I can’t say enough about Andrea’s work and HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU HIRE HER! I wish I could fly her here to mainland and recommend her for weddings here! Thank you, Andrea, for making it a breeze to have a wedding in Maui, and for all your help. It was an ultimate joy working with you and getting to know you!

I did a lot of research and called a lot of other stylist to compare prices. Andrea seemed the most reasonable, not to mention most economical. I was staying at a condo rental and she showed up there with all her equipment and tools. She was very down to earth and I felt she could do anything you asked for. I didn’t do any type of trial since I lived on the mainland and had no plans to fly to Maui before the wedding. Andrea asked for a snap shot of a style I wanted and make up and I sent it to her via email. She was able to duplicate the look I was going for. I also told her I had purchased hair extensions to add volume and she didn’t charge me extra to add the hair extensions to my style. Other stylists I spoke to charge. She was very flexible and friendly. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a make up artist and hair stylist on Maui!

We had our Maui wedding on 10÷2÷12 and our photographer recommended Andrea… I am so thankful for that! Before we headed out to Maui, I emailed her some images of what I was thinking for my hair. Andrea made my hair look BETTER than the photos and my makeup was just stunning. She was really a pleasure to work with and I am so grateful she was a part of our wedding day. For my wedding, I wanted to have hair & make-​up done in our room and not in a salon so that the bridesmaids, moms and friends could be free to pop in and out at their convenience. My photographer recommended Andrea, and we were all so impressed!
I scheduled a trial session a few days before the wedding, and Andrea knew exactly the look I wanted even though I didn’t know what the style was called. My mom (who usually hates having her hair and make-​up done by someone else) was so shocked by the look that she insisted on having her hair and make-​up done for the wedding too! After we decided on my wedding look, Andrea pinned my hair in a playful side-​do so that my husband-​to-​be could see my hair without knowing how it would look at the wedding.
Andrea was able to find the great balance between a natural look with just enough color and drama for photos. All of the girls loved their hair and make-​up. Each girl requested something a little different, and each girl had a few special requests that Andrea was able to accommodate. We also had a variety of skin tones and hair types that Andrea was able to navigate effortlessly.
Andrea’s vibe is also really great and relaxing — which can make such a huge difference in stressful situations. I can’t wait to see the professional photos because the amateur ones we took are absolutely stunning!

I found Andrea via the internet… duh…how else am I supposed to find someone that is thousands of miles away from me? Andrea arrived early and she got right down to business (love when people are early!). She did my mother in law’s hair and makeup, my aunt’s hair and makeup and my hair. Not having a trial run beforehand, I was just a teeny bit worried, but the outcome was exactly how I wanted it even if I didn’t know exactly how I wanted it. Andrea has many many years of experience and I think she did an awesome job with my mother in law and aunt’s hair and makeup as well. She was easy to talk to and she knew what she was doing. I am trying to figure out arrange my wedding in Maui. No problem — except I live in California. How do you know what’s really good when no one in Hawaii uses Unilocal!
I’ve checked out a dozen places to get my hair done, even called one or two…
I spoke with the concierge at the Grand Wailea Marriott and she recommended Andrea Duarte. I promptly phoned her — we connected instantly. Her quote was NOT expensive (compared to what I’ve been hearing) and she doesn’t charge to come to the hotel. She was nice, friendly, and engaging.
We’re not going to be able to do a trial run — but she offered to meet me for a trial run a couple days before the wedding (same cost) or for a «consultation» — my consultation will be at a happy hour :)
I can’t wait to meet her!
