Debi’s Cuts & Color

It’s surely any hairstylists’s nightmare when a brand new client needs delicate work and fast. However, Deb rose to the occasion and beautifully!
After my former stylist stopped answering her phone, I won a «cut and color» in a contest. I told that stylist that I had never colored my hair, so, she assured me she would use only vegetable dye and that it would wear off in six to eight weeks. Here I was, three and a half months later, and it was still obvious. My hair had been dyed!!! So, I appealed to Deb to find a gentle way to give my hair the body perm it needed for my impending mainland trip.
To say that she did is the least of it! She even used the same gentle, no chemicals shampoo and conditioner I use at home. Not only is my hair now full and wavy, but it’s also no frizz and the split ends are history. She took more than three hours, during which I was her only focus– wow! Btw, the salon is gorgeous and the views are delightful. I will definitely go back. Mahalo, Deb!

I am rarely «excited» about a haircut but Debi worked her magic once again and gave me the best cut I’ve had in years. I am not always able to get to Maui but when I do an appointment with Debi is definitely in the cards!

I’ve been to a number of stylists on Maui and Debi is by far the best. She is also the nicest and most thoughtful. I have challenging hair (thin, fine, graying), and I am always thankful for the time and care she puts into my color, foils and cut. The results always earn me compliments. When I arrive, she brews me a nice cup of tea and greets me like a friend. She has also been cutting my teenaged son’s hair for 5+ years and always does an excellent job.

I liked Deb when we met, and she did avery good job/​only the first two times… When I returned for the third time, she was so distracted that SHE BURNED MY HAIR AND NEVER RETURNED MY CALL OR RETURNED SEVERAL CALLS TO HER.
SHE SMELLED MY HAIR BURNINGand claimed it was a malfunction of her hair dryer unit possibly… and never took responisiblity for the fact that she was not paying enough attention and the smell was actually my hair burning and falling out. She went out of town for almost a month after this occured and i phoned to speak with her when she returned… to no avail.(one phone call did get thru, where she was very defensive/​told me to come in (after the monththat she was away that she could «see» though, she smelled it! and then claimed it was something that had occured even possibly before i came to her.) OF COURSE I NEVER WANTED TO GO BACK IN WITH HER ATTITUDE, (even tho she was nice the first couple appointments) SHE NEVER OFFERED ME MY MONEY BACK, AFTER REQUESTING THIS SEVERAL TIMES… BAD BUSINESS BAD KARMA VERY DISSATISFIED

I was new to Maui and picked this place due to the Unilocal reviews. I am so happy with my color and cut and really enjoyed talking to Debi! I will definitely be going back.

I was able to get a last minute appointment in the morning for a blow dry straiten and am totally satisfied. My hair is difficult at most times but Deb new how to handle it. Thanks!

I received another great haircut from Debi. She took extra time to get it just right, and partially blow dried my hair just to make sure it was looking good AND all this at the end of the day with me booking a last minute appointment. I love the hairstyle and will be back. Debi is the best!

I’ve been going to Debi’s for the past year and I must say she is one of the best stylist I have ever seen. I used to live in Honolulu and was never happy with my hair. My hair is curly and difficult to manage in this climate but now that I’ve been going to Debi’s my hair is healthy and the color is perfect. She does a great job covering my gray yet keeping it very natural looking. I highly recommend her.

Debi’s so nice and so is my hair now that she’s trimmed it. Her salon IS very nice, bright and clean. She does not accept credit cards, but does accept cash and check.

I came to Debi with shoulder length hair like straw. Debi really improved the situation. She gave me a great hair cut, I left with softer hair. I will go back when I need my highlights done. She is very friendly, has years of experience, and the shop is a nice, relaxing place on the second floor.
Parking is behind the big green building, her shop is on the second floor in the very back by the parking lot.

Debi’s been cutting my hair since I was little. She pays a lot of attention to detail and takes her time to make things perfect. I always try crazy new colors and styles, and she handles everything I throw at her (she trims a precision mohawk and bleaches my hair perfectly white). I’m on Oahu for school right now, so I make sure to get a haircut with her every time I come home to Maui!

She’s the bomb! As a colorist, she is incomparable. As a stylist, she can work wonders with every texture and for every woman who has struggled to grow out a layered cut-​she will make it tolerable every step of the way.
Besides, the salon is beautiful, comfortable, and hard to leave.

In my opinion, Debi is the BEST stylist on the island! She does phenomenal color and her styling skills are top-​notch. Whether my hair is long or short, Debi keeps it healthy and looking good. I am a «wash n wear» sort of girl, and that’s not easy given the kind of hair I have, but she makes it work! Her salon is clean, comfortable, cute, and welcoming.
I agree with Dawn about the laid-​back nature of the place, it’s like visiting with a girlfriend (she even has coffee and tea!).
