Went for brunch on a Sunday. Service was good. Large portions of food. Got the pancakes with bacon and a biscuit. Also tried the chilaquiles. Food was ok.

Great Sunday brunch with a flat rate of $ 20/pp. with multiple selections. Includes beverages from café to mimosas. Good portion size. Nice alternative to chains.

I’ve only tried their burger, cheese/meat board, and desserts… But so far I have nothing to complain about, their cheese board is hands down better than Santa Fe’s, and the Crème brûlée is very rich and flavorful. I deducted 1 star because their wine glasses are heavy and not made for red wine. Tip: half off appetizer and wine during happy hour

I liked this restaurant a lot! Maybe because we had the place to ourselves lol Got the meat and cheese plate that was nicer than expected. Even came with pears and dates. Also got the pork belly entrée and it was BOMB. Check it out yo!

Good service, good area and parking. Good alcoholic drinks… food taste is good but not the children’s menu. Kids food is dry no taste.

So after two years it’s time to revisit Spork. It has definitely lost a step or two. I heard there is a new owner and well the quality had suffered. First off the service was practically non-existent. The food was pretty decent, but not really exciting. You sort of get the idea that they are putting a half effort but still charging premium prices. We tried the cheese board which is $ 10 overpriced, I can pick up all of those ingredients at HEB and put them on a cutting board for a fraction of the price. The New York strip was priced fine, and cooked correctly. Might I add that while I write this the people next to us had to raise their hands and ask a waiter to come take their order after 20 minutes of waiting. Very disappointing.

Food is stunning, spork burger is insane good, I could eat here every day after work… The ambient is nice and the view is incredible, what I love the most is that the service is fast and friendly, the presentation of the dishes and the cocktails are incredible. Music is great, modern and not too loud, ideal for a date or by yourself at the bar having a great glass of wine after a tough work day… Quality of food and ingredients is fresh, and everything is natural. I hope you have the opportunity to try this one out. Don’t miss it. You will love it.

Whenever I come home, I try and read up on the foodie scene springing up in the Valley. I read about Spork in several RGV publications and heard the place was phenomenal. After it was recommended by close family friends, I immediately made a dinner reservation for my grandparent’s wedding anniversary. The four of us showed up at 6:00 pm in the midst of their happy hour. It was empty except for a pair of businessmen having beers and a very boisterous family talking to the chef. A waitress passed by telling me to sit wherever, and when I informed her of my reservation she had no clue of what I was speaking of. She ended up being the only person waiting tables that night — shocking! Anyways, our food was delicious, cannot complain. However, in my opinion, it was a little overpriced. The entrees were large but in no way does the food warrant the prices. I think because the menu items are considered ‘daring’ for the Valley, they upped the price. Overall I was a little disappointed. I recommend the PB&J wings, they have fantastic flavor with a touch of spice. My turkey burger was perfectly delightful, and the fashionable pork belly is well featured in the menu. As for the ambience, it’s lovely with red walls and mood lighting overlooking busy 10th Street. At night the lights are on outside in the parking lot and the twinkle lights are pretty through the windows. Again, a little overpriced and the service was lacking. Our poor waitress was helping with nearly eight tables by herself! If, and when, I go back, I’m very willing to bump up my review if service improves.

From the reviews n pictures on Unilocal,I was under the impression that it’s an upscale restaurant, but upon getting there, it appeared to be a mix of hole in the wall and casual American restaurant. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the building. Even tho it’s small, they have both elevator and stairs for the customers to use. The parking lot is somewhat limited especially on the weekend. Everything I have tried here has been excellent. They do change their menu often except a handful of items that stay on the menu consistently. Not a bad idea for people to try new things, but it’s a shame that I absolutely love their Brussel sprouts(best one I have had so far), I have only gotten to try it once n it’s no longer being offered. Excellent food, huge portion, friendly servers, definitely worth coming here if you’re in the area.

The food here was delicious, and the waitress was awesome! I also love how it’s on the second story. We came on a Thursday night and they had live music, which was cool. My bf and I shared the pecan salad(forgot the exact name) and spork belly. Both were delicious, especially the pork belly. It came with a balsamic glaze that was to die for. It was a good thing the waitress warned us about the carrots it came with, because they were actually pretty spicy. It was the first time I had spicy carrots, and it was an interesting addition to the meal. I definitely plan on coming back here :)

They had me at PB&J wings… 2 of my favs combined??! I had to give it a try. Not only were the wings fall off the bone delicious, but they had this exciting bite to them bc of the jalapeño infused peanut butter and saracha sauce that was drizzled on top. Best part was that we were there during happy hour and all apps were half off! For our meals my table had the: jumbo shrimp and fried avocado –crisp and light Caste iron ribeye –melted in your mouth Sweet potato bread pudding –warm and delicious I just moved down from Philly and this was my first restaurant to try in McAllen and it did not let me down and truly got me excited about the food scene in McAllen.

We were here for dinner a few months ago. The restaurant is a little small and lighting is very dim. We found the room temp to be a little cold for comfort. Their Texas brew beer selection was excellent. They portions and prices are very decent. Next time we will try their lunch menu.

Located in the middle of McAllen, as you walk to the building and enter the cute little side elevator to the second floor you feel a romantic yet trendy energy. Once seated the I am always pleased to have excellent service from all the waiters who are more than happy to explain what is on the menu. One thing about spork is that the menu is changes with the seasons. They use local, fresh, ingredients. As well make practically everything from scratch including all their condiments. Also their selection of wine and there house made sangria is a bonus!!’ There has not been one time that I’ve not been blown away with their food and service! Definitely a place to take a date or have a nice business dinner.

My bf and I have been here twice and each time was phenomenal! The PB&J wings has a peanut sauce Thai flavor… so good! We had the«Mexican street corn» with seared tuna… delicious! The New York strip with chimichurri and the Spork Belly were excellent! I guess we were too excited to eat that we didn’t take pics! Maybe next time! Service is great… everyone is so nice! I love the mojitos… and they have great wine too!

Spork — an eating utensil combining features of a spoon and a fork. Located on the second floor in the building right next to moon beams and has an elevator too in case stairs aren’t your thing. This place is McAllen’s new top spot for culinary creativity infusing the southern heat we love and expect in our Texan dishes with strong well implemented European influences. Spork has brought fine dining to McAllen for a price lower than you would expect from the quality dishes and service you receive. Have been here almost 10 times now and each time tried something new. One of the best ways to start lite is to go with either the Watermelon Salad or the King Crab Bisque. Both are portioned perfectly leaving you satisfied but super ready for whatever the chef has next. My favorite dish is the stuffed pork chop and I was going to review everything, but honestly you really can’t go wrong with any dish you choose. And if you are here with the significant other, most of the dishes are portioned enough to split. Jumbo Shrimp — not what I quite expected at first. The only thing on te dish that is served hot is the shrimp. But don’t despair, the flavor and components more than convince you they know what they are doing in the kitchen. Spork Burger — cooked to order but be ready to eat! You have the option to include a fried egg, avocado, mushrooms, onions and jellied jalapeños and Mac n cheese. I got it all with exception to the Mac. It’s got a little bite, but it’s balanced to perfection with the sweetness from the jalapeños and the smoothness from the egg yolk. BTW thank make their own ketchup mustard and mayo!!! 100% as fresh and original tasting as you could ask for. Spork also offers a wide variety of American Brews and wines to help wind the nite down perfect and refresh your taste buds for the next awesome bite. My favorite wine they serve is the R+. It’s got a perfect smokey bite to go with their filets. One of Sporks best secrets. Their Sunday Brunch!!! 20 bucks gets you any one of their entrees along with complimentary mimosas, michiladas or beer. While you only get 2 on the house but don’t worry, the drinks after are only 25 cents per after that!!! It’s still a pretty sweet deal when you combine it with their unique breakfast/lunch creations. Okay, I’ll leave you off with this, Guest Relations! These guys are all about it. Let them know what you think on Unilocal and Facebook and they will respond to you rather quickly, and who knows, maybe even hit you up for one of their exclusive events.

The place itself was half full, but the parking lot was a nightmare. Still, the food was well worth it. I tried their burger. It’s pretty pricey, for a burger, but I was happily surprised that I actually really enjoyed it. Let me back up a bit, I’ve only ever had well-done meats, but I was feeling adventurous, so I decided to take it down a notch and order it medium-well. Yep, I walked on the wild side. And I didn’t hate it. In fact, I really enjoyed it and would order it again for sure. I think my favorite part of the meal, oddly enough, was the red dipping sauce that came with it. It totally made the fries ten times better. The waitress suggested some tea cocktail that was pretty tasty as well. And she was very attentive the entire time. Just know that the tip is included in the receipt and you’re automatically charged, cause it’s easy to overlook it. Also, their menu was kind of limited as far as food and drinks go. Still, I’m looking forward to coming back and trying out their brunch or something.

McAllen, TX I am impressed by your culinary movement. From what I have been told there is a host of you that are the movers and shakers that have brought high quality innovative food to this southern most tip of Tejas. Unfortunately I arrived at Spork in the middle of menu change, I contemplated going someplace else as the dishes that had inspired me to go in where not on the new menu. Something about the place and people made me stay. It was simple and fantastic. Watermelon salad, requested side of Manchego cheese and fresh bread washed down with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. After a 103 °F scorcher of a day that was the perfect meal. Well made even more sublime with an ending of a large mason jar filled with moist chocolate cake, chipotle caramel and almond cream cheese ice cream(heavenly) and a nice heavy red.

Been here a handful of times and really wanted to write a review of this place for my last visit … There’s nothing here that I’ve tried that my taste buds haven’t loved! But let me focus on something as American as apple pie that we all have come to expect greatness from and that is a good old fashioned, solid tasting burger! And that is what you can get here at Spork. Not entirely sure what the meat blend is in this robust burger patty, but the secret is in the cooking technique. Make sure to ask for it cooked no more than medium! This will ensure that the meat will retain so much juiciness and just melt in your mouth like warm butter! Sorry folks, but any meat cooked past medium just gets dry… You can choose from several add ons for an additional price and customizing this beauty of a burger will only make the eating experience more memorable and unique for every discerning taste. I always ask for a fried egg to top it all off like a golden crown! Each burger comes with a side of skinny cut fries but it’s the siracha ketchup you will be dying for! Some folks around may complain a bit about the price of what you would pay to enjoy this culinary treat of a burger rather choosing a cheaper alternative. Whatever their reasons may be the old adage is true here, «you get what you pay for.» For a handcrafted and homemade burger this exquisite I will gladly pay between $ 15-$ 20 which is what you get here. The brussel sprouts are killer here! Don’t leave without trying those! They’re nothing like your mother made… not even close. Did I mention they’re glazed in siracha hot sauce? The menu is seasonal and they also do a righteous brunch on Sundays… one of the very few in the valley! I am so happy to have such a fresh and diverse restaurant like Spork here in the RGV. Here’s to hoping for more!
