Been here three times already. Let me start by saying I hate going out to eat pasta. It’s kind of pointless to me, I mean pasta is so cheap to make why pay to eat it out. That being said, I came to pasta max because my husband wanted to try it out and am I glad I came. Everything here is amazing, all handmade in house. Starting from the delicious garlic rolls smothered in butter to the delicious tiramisu. There is not one thing in here I have had that’s bad. There’s not much more to say other than you need to try it out, you will not regret one thing.

Nice location downtown by quaint square. Attractive casual interior. Tasty bread. Large portions and we enjoyed both entrees. I recommend the penne with sausage and chicken.

We were cruising down the interstate and hit traffic. Decided to find some dinner rather than sitting in traffic… so we Unilocaled and found Pastamax! Haven’t had this good of eating in a long time and I am quite the«foodie». Great atmosphere, service, and of course the food! Must stop!

We found this place via Unilocal and based on it’s great reviews we decided to give it a go. Glad we did! I’ve been looking for a good local Italian restaurant and this fits the bill. I was worried we’d have to wait forever but it was less than 10 minutes(on a Friday night at 6:30). As other reviews state. the bread was delicious. The calamari was great. I had the house salad and LOVED the dressing. It’s different than most Italian dressings and has a sweet flavor. My husband had the minestrone soup and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Herb Chicken(Chicken Parmigiana with a side of ziti with marinara). The chicken was great. My husband had fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and really enjoyed it. We have plenty of leftovers and look forward to going back!

I’ve been going to Pasta Max since Douglas Zitz first opened in the restaurant in the Express Inn in North Stockbridge. Their new location off the McDonough square is awesome, and it’s probably the most romantic spot in the area. If you can, definitely get the small table for two in the window. Their menu has changed over the years, but it’s always centered on pastas, salads, and pizzas. For an appetizer, the steamed mussels are a particular treat(especially if you«sop» the garlic rolls in the wine sauce. The agnolotti is as aesthetically appeasing as it is tasty, but my personal favorite is BBQ pizza. My wife loves the pecan encrusted chicken, and it’s reminiscent of a dish that used to be served at Truman’s(off the McDonough Square) before they went out of business. Their wine and beer selection is adequate, but I recommend getting a cocktail before you arrive if that’s your sorta thing.

I am in love with this place! Definitely a authentic Italian restaurant! The garlic rolls are to die for!(Might not want to go here on a hot date) everyone leaves with garlic breath. The chicken parmigiana is divine!

I’ve been a few times and this place is good. It’s especially a bright spot for Henry County which is made up of mostly chains or otherwise mediocre restaurants. And I don’t care what anyone says — the best hamburger in Atlanta is not served anywhere near the McDonough square. But that’s off topic. I have mostly positive things to say about Pasta Max. The food is good. It’s not going to blow your mind and there are some better Italian restaurants in Atlanta but prices are reasonable and this is pretty adventurous fare for McDonough. Service has also been good and the atmosphere is nice and has some charm. Sure beats Olive Garden. I have 2 small complaints and they are kinda related. 1. They use vinyl tablecloths and 2. they wipe them down with a strong smelling cleaner. Vinyl tablecloths are a little low class and don’t really go with the vibe of the restaurant but I wouldn’t really have a problem with them if it wasn’t for how they clean them after each party leaves. Once you get a whiff of that cleaner you can’t smell or taste anything else for a few minutes. It ruins all the hard work the chef put into preparing your food. The busboy should use a clean damp towel during business hours and save the strong cleaners for closing time. I’m not going to go down a star because of this but I hope they read these reviews and take these suggestions.

Best Italian on the south side and perhaps in the Metro. The rolls are amazing and addicting– I’m not much of a bread eater but I could not stop eating the rolls. I usually get the specials and have yet to be disappointed. Great for date night or family dinner.

Absolutely fantastic. I haven’t been to Pasta Max since they were up in Stockbridge. We’ve tried to come to the new location several times in the past couple of years, but there’s always a wait. When you eat there, you’ll know why! We had no problem getting seated straight away this time, even though it was almost completely full. The drinks were quick to arrive, the garlic rolls were lovely and our dinners were superb. My dad is from Italy, so naturally I grew up eating great Italian food at home. My mom is American, but is an excellent cook, especially Italian food. I tend to stay away from Italian restaurants usually, because I’d rather try something I can’t cook at home. The food at Pasta Max is such a lovely reminder of all the delicious, homemade Italian meals I’ve enjoyed. I promise, you won’t be disappointed!

This tiny little place one block off the square is a gem. From the selection of beer from Italy to the yummy buttered rolls with Parmesan cheese to the pizzas to the pasta dishes, this place has all you’d want in a small town. The restaurant has seating for about 50 in a relatively small space. The door to the kitchen swings open wide, exposing the cooks and the bus boys/girls and everyone else in there to the eyes of the customers. Not the most pleasing view so sit with your back to the kitchen and all is good. The size of the crowd will tell you why local folks here keep coming back for more.

Love love this place! And that’s saying a lot coming from me. The garlic rolls are yummy. Never had a bad meal here & we’ve been going for some years. The waiters are thoughtful and usually efficient(esp’ly Charla). Our out-of-town friends always want to eat here. Hate that we have to wait for a table so often but I guess that’s what keeps it real. Keep up the super good food!

The chicken parm here is great. Pasta Max is the best Italian restaurant in Henry County. There is no need to go anywhere else. The rolls are fantastic and there’s lots of different wines to choose from.

Checked this place out while in town for business. Service: meh. The waitresses are very laid back and not very descriptive of the food. When asked what the agnolotti was I was told«it comes out looking like the Italian flag» this didn’t make it sound good to me… How about describing the sauces and their flavors! A flag just doesn’t sound appetizing. No pizaaz Chicken parm– it was good. Just good. Not the most amazing I’ve ever had but good and good for the money. The rolls: the reason to visit. Fresh garlic and delicious bread. I come to the area from time to time for business and would come back.

Came here because Unilocal.Had a chance to visit with a local. Checking local opinion :-). She Stated you must take you wife there. The food is the best. The bread is to die for and she was absolutely right! Order: veg lasagna and angle hair with sausage and crab bisque. Looking at the menu you can’t go wrong with any item.
