Overrated! I felt that the burger itself was juicy and the bread they utilize is soft with a great texture. However, I felt that the fries reminded me of cafeteria fries I used to eat as a child in my school. And for me, fries make or break a burger joint. I also wish they had some sauces for their fries. Especially because their fries are very basic. I ordered one burger one batch of fries and a peanut butter milk shake and I was still hungry after… I got the single patty burger. The single patty burger is so small. It did not fill me up… At all :( I will say this… it’s a perfect spot to go to if you are planning on ice skating at the Tysons rooftop. It’s literally right next to the ice skating rank.

I ordered the shroom burger, fries w/cheese, and the smore shake. Pretty pricey at just under $ 20. The shake tasted like chocolate with chunks of chocolate, no smore flavor. The shroom burger was amazing! It’s a breaded/crispy portabello stuffed with delicious cheese. Every bite had cheese oozing out. The fries were really good but the cheese sauce was overkill bc of the cheesy shroom burger. Next time I’ll skip the shake and get a shroom burger and fries with shack sauce on the side. Their lemonade looked good so I might try that.

I’ve been here twice and each time I ordered a shake. Strawberry and salted caramel. Both times they tasted like vanilla and only like vanilla. Don’t bother with the shake. I’m convinced that either the employees are doing it wrong or their shakes are just horrible and have no flavor beyond vanilla. The hamburgers are tasty but not crazy good like every thinks they are. They are small, and I would wish I had another to eat because my hunger would not be satisfied. But I think they’re a bit expensive to justify buying two burgers. Ultimately, I would choose to go to five guys instead unless someone else wanted to go to shake shack. I’m not impressed at all. The wait usually is long, andy shakes never taste like they should.

Shake Shack is one of my top favorite burger places. The meat is always juicy and tender, the buns are warm and soft. I always get the smoke stack, the crispy bacon combined with the hot peppers is awesome! Just talking about it is making my mouth water. I saw on their menu that they now have a chicken sandwich. I definitely wanted to try it since I love chikfila and wanted to see how it compared. One word. AMAZING! The chicken was super moist and crispy, the herb dressing wasn’t too overwhelming, and the warm soft bun and crisp lettuce just topped it off. Sorry Chikfila, you’ve been replaced! The only reason why I docked a star is because of service. Now the line moved pretty quickly for it being busy and only a few people working in the kitchen however I was taken aback by how the cashier was talking to the two customers in front of me, admiring their looks and telling them upfront. A nice comment to them is a wonderful gesture however if you call your coworker over and gawk at them while they are waiting for their food and I’m standing there waiting for my order to be taken that’s a big no. Granted this is a grab and go place with limited seating so I shouldn’t expect much with service. Also the to go area where the sauces and napkins were was pretty messy. I got my stuff to go and enjoyed my meal at the food court. Can’t wait to come back again!

The indoor seating for this Shake Shack is super small but there is some outdoor seating. Food tastes just as good as Shake Shack should. Shack Stacks please! I visited on a weekday and not sure if it’s just because the location is just less busy during then, but, the signage for the C-Line was pretty confusing. It turned out there was actually only one line, no C-Line. So I just looked like an idiot trying to queue in front of everyone. Whoops! Wish they had just taken the C-Line sign out to save me a minute of embarrassment.

A very good burger joint however this place can be a little pricey depending on what you order. The burgers here remind me of InNOut burgers when I was in Cali. The mushroom burgers for vegetarians is very delicious and I would recommend everyone to try it. The cheese fries are good and the cheese they give you is very unique to Shake Shake. This place is very popular since it is located in Tyson’s Corner Mall which is a problem because seating for this place could be a little hard to find at times. Most of the seats are outside of Shake Shack so during the winter or when the weather is bad, expect to find a different place to eat your meal.

I’m not sure which was more of a letdown– the size of the burger(which i paid a premium for), the long wait, the attitude of the workers, or the awkward setup of the restaurant that gives room for maybe 15 seats indoors, but I just wasn’t impressed. Sadly, i almost feel like I would’ve had a better experience at a Burger King.

Can they please please please open a Shake Shack in San Diego!!! Personally, I’ve never been a burger person. Even as a California native, In-N-Out was never something I craved(GASP, I know). But hearing that Shake Shack is the East Coast version of our In-N-Out, I had to try it to see what was the hype. Similar to In-N-Out, they have a no frills menu. It’s a bit frillier than In-N-Out, but I see that as a good thing. It’s still simple burgers, but they also have hot dogs, shakes, and custards. I LOVE their fries. My go-to order was always the SmokeShake, which is pretty much an amazing bacon cheeseburger with cherry peppers and their house sauce. I love that they only use 100% all-natural Angus beef. No hormones. No antibiotics. The rolls they use are also non-GMO potato rolls(YUM). For my vegetarian friends, they have an amazing Shroom Burger which is made with a whole portobello. SOGOOD! The frozen custards and shakes — TODIEFOR! Perfectly thick and hand-spun daily. Also, they only use real sugar and no corn syrup, and the dairy is sourced from dairy farmers who do not use artificial growth hormones. WIN! To top it off, for my fellow dog-lovers, they have a puppy menu too! Environmental, health, and dog friendly. This is the best place ever!!! (Review is for the chain, not for this location in particular. But this was my go-to Shake Shack location) Other semi-boring, but relevant bits of information: — It’s a small location. There’s indoor and outdoor seating, but the outdoor seating wont be helpful when it’s FREEZING out. — There’s a small jungle gym for your kids, if they need entertainment. — Lines can get kind of long as well as the wait time. On the bright side, they do have buzzers. — Not exactly the cleanest in terms of tables, so this particular location needs to work on that. — Easy to find parking since it’s located in a big mall.

When my co-workers started to rave about this place after a location had opened up in Tysons, I was not impressed. I mean, it is a fast food joint — how great could it be? Well, I am here today to tell you that I repent this blasphemy. ;) Last week, I went to Shake Shack with a bunch of my co-workers and discovered that the ShackBurger is just finger-licking good. The fries are also more than decent. The place is popular, so be prepared to wait a bit for your order and seating is limited, but they are using buzzers to keep track of everyone’s order and there is plenty of seating outside on the plaza. Parents will also like to hear that there is a little playground for the offspring, so that they can enjoy their food in peace.

First time trying this Shake Shack location. It’s located outside on the plaza level where the ice skating rink is as well. The actual place is small with a number of tables on one side. The interior is really cute though! They have tables right outside so I could imagine that it’d be really nice during the warmer days. If it’s cold outside, I recommend you just order the food and take it inside to the food court area. I usually order the double shackburger with the crinkle cut fries. Burger is tiny, so I would recommend getting the double patties if you’re hungry! I love their burger buns. I normally don’t like fries, but their crinkle fries are pretty good! Perfectly cooked and crispy. Honestly, considering the portion size, it’s not worth the price but it is good to have once in awhile!

Shake Shack at Tyson’s hooray! I’ve heard so much about Shake Shack and could not wait to try it! It’s right upstairs from the food court outside of the actual mall. I went last night(Friday) and geez! They were packed ! After ordering you really have to sneak into a table AS someone is getting up if you want to eat inside. There is only about 8 tables inside and though it usually doesn’t get that cold here, it was 30 degrees last night so sitting at their large outside venue was out of the question! The warmer months would be great to sit outside and enjoy their food. We tried their burger, hot dog and fries(with cheese of course) and of course a concrete for desert ! We really enjoyed everything we ate, and will be back. Is it the best burger I’ve ever had? No, but it is pretty solid food if you’re looking for something to fill you up in the burger/hotdog department !

I don’t know why there are so many bad reviews. This is probably my favorite burger place in the McLean area. I usually make long and harsh reviews but let’s keep this short and sweet. The food is delicious. Vegetables are fresh, beefs is soft and juicy, and the fries are. Good… End of story, delicious The service… It’s a shack, what do you expect. Atmosphere… It’s a shack god damnit. Stop giving bad reviews since it’s a shack. Again, delicious. I barely give 5 star reviews, but I don’t think this place deserves a 4. One more time, it’s delicious.

I absolutely love this place for not only its burgers but its buy one get one free bonus on Mondays for students with a student ID. The burgers are pretty pricy but it is really good so it is so worth it. The atmosphere is great and theres outside seating. Located right outside of Tysons mall, it is convenient for shoppers who get hungry while shopping. This is a casual date place for me and my boyfriend on most Mondays cause come on, who doesn’t like a free burger when you buy one: D Usually my bf is a picky eater and when it comes to burgers, he has quite the picky taste. When I let him first try Shake Shack, he absolutely fell in love and we’ve come back everytime we craved burgers and sometimes we just come to Tysons just for Shake Shack

Finally, finally, FINALLY I got to try Shake Shack! We were lucky to not have to wait at all — came here at about 1 pm on a weekday. There were still some seats so as soon as we ordered, we snagged a table. I wanted the classic Shake Shack combination, so I got the Single Shack and cheese fries with a cranberry ginger lemonade. It doesn’t take too long for food to come out… and boy oh boy I was happy. The burger is really good — I can’t compare it to In N Out because the style is different. The cheese fries were also sinfully good. I would have to say that I prefer these fries over In N Out fries, but I’m also a sucker for crinkle-cut fries. The cheese just MADE the fries, though you’ll feel really guilty after eating them because it’s an added gut bomb to the meal. Loved the quick service and consistency of food. This location can be confusing because you’ll need to go outside by the skating rink. I’m a fan!

I’ve been hearing a lot about this place and finally decided to try it out today. Service: 5 stars Food: 3 stars Location: 5 stars Seating: 2 stars The restaurant is very small but it’s in a wonderful spot. There is a lot seating outside but the inside is small. I believe I counted about 6 tables total inside. When you first walk in the menu is largely viewed on the wall to the right. The staff was very welcoming, funny, informative and probably the only reason I will be going back. I give them an A+ for service. Their burgers are small so I would suggest getting the double patties. Their fries also come in a smaller portion but it’s perfect for 1. I thought I’d try out one of their floats which was recommended to me(orange something) and I had to trash the whole thing :(… It wasn’t good at all. I should’ve gone with the root beer instead. I want to go back and try their hotdog next time :)

I give this place a 4 star bc of the quality of the food. My husband and I are new to the area and we heard so many things about this place that we HAD to try it. Although we’re from San Diego, we had to compare DC/VA or even east coast local burger joints to So. Cal’s local burger joint — In and Out. The quality of the food was definitely a plus. The meat on the burgers were juicy. The shakes were well blended(no clumps or thick that it’s hard to sip through the straw) and the custard was mixed to the T. The prices of just the burgers alone were a bit pricy for what you’re getting for. But I guess you’re paying for the quality of the food. I wouldn’t go here on a daily, but if I’m hungry for some good tasty burgers, it’ll be worth a drive. Plus, it’s right next to a mall! On a side note, it does get packed. So if you’re HANGRY and can’t wait for your food… just go elsewhere. Otherwise just be patient and your food will come!

So this place is always busy so I have passed on trying on at least 4 separate occasions. There would be people everywhere, rain or shine so I would say never mind and just grab something else. Well, after attending the Andy Grammer summer series concert just outside this place with a friend, I decided to try. OMG! I’m so glad I did! I tried a SmokeShack, crinkle fries and a peach lemonade. The SmokeShack is a cheeseburger, applewood smoked bacon, red cherry peppers and shack sauce. I nixed the cherry peppers and shack sauce. When I asked the cashier what was in the shack sauce, her response was its a «special sauce» that’s a little sweet and a little tangy. I figured I’d err on the side of caution and pass. I need to know what I’m eating and what that«sweet and spicy» entails. :-) Anyhow, the burger was really good. I asked for a well done burger. It wasn’t overcooked by any means. The burger was juicy and oddly enough quite flavorful. One of the best I’ve had in the area. I also ordered the fries — they are tasty and crispy. Fried to perfection! Extremely delightful!!! I gave 4 stars because the place is really small and a little unorganized. Apparently, the crowd I’ve seen waiting around in the past were people waiting on their orders. It’s hard to tell how big the place is unless you actually go in. It’s literally just a counter. I ordered take out twice and I didn’t wait longer than 5 minutes in line and 10 minutes for my order. Overall, definitely a good burger. Perfect portion and reasonably priced for the area.

I know I am a little late to the party but I am so glad to see Shake Shack expanding outside of NYC, and hope that one comes to St. Louis in the near future. Recently I was in DC for work and staying just down the street and knew that I had to make it a point during my trip to visit. On the last night of my trip I decided to make a stop and grab a quick burger before heading back to the hotel. This location is outside of the mall close to the Tysons Corner Metro Stop, which makes for a convenient burger stop. Seating inside is limited, however there is also some outside seating available. The concept is simple with a pretty basic menu which consists of burgers, hotdogs, and shakes! What could be better! I ordered a Double SmokeShack, which was a cheeseburger topped with all-natural Applewood smoked bacon, chopped cherry pepper, and ShackSauce. The burger was awesome and served pretty quickly however you could tell it was made fresh to order. The bacon and sauce added a unique taste which made me quickly forgot about the subpar burger places like Five Guys. Fries here are ala carte, however they are just as good as the burger. I couldn’t leave without getting a shake, especially considering the monthly special was the Chocolate Salted Pretzel Shake. Seriously those flavors just sound amazing, and to be totally honest with you it lived up to my expectations! My only disappointment is that I won’t be able to enjoy Shake Shack at home in St. Louis.

I keep hearing great things about Shake Shack and there is always a long line at the other ones so I decided to try it out. It’s better than Bobby’s Burger Palace, BGR, and Smash Burger, but overrated and pricey for what you’re getting. Also, the wait was too long. I had the single patty SmokeShack Burger. It was just alright. The first two bites were too salty from the ShackSauce and then the rest of the burger got a little too spicy from the cherry peppers. And there was too much of it that I didn’t really taste the beef patty. It’s not located inside Tysons Corner Mall, but outside in the new plaza section, next to Lord & Taylor. If you’ve never been to Shake Shack, give it a try, but there are better options at the mall.
