Average. Slow service. I will eat here for lunch but not dinner. The prices are on the high side for the quality received.

We spent a very nice hour out on the Patio. The Red Thistle ale was excellent. Not too hoppy and very like an English Bitter. We sampled the Happy Hour menu. Sliders and chicken satay. Both very good. Service was excellent. Attentive but not intrusive.

I’ve eaten here about 15 times over a 10 year span and I must say its a cozy environment with normally hasty and friendly service. I usually always eat dinner or lunch and have had the burgers and salads. It’s a great overall place and it is kid friendly, it has a bar connected to it and sports games on TVs. The TVs are near the bar however so you don’t need to be in front of them if you choose the calmer end of the restaurant.

Have been here many times as a favorite stop on way home from the Coast. The menu is smaller now but still pretty good.
Tuesday stopped for lunch and ordered the meat loaf and it was very good. My complaint is that it comes with gravy and there should be enough to compliment the food. Ours was short and we asked for extra gravy. When it came it was a very small amount (maybe 5 tablespoons) but it was sufficient. However when the check arrived there was a charge for $ 1.95 for gravy. The entrée was $ 13 and that was for 2 slices of meat loaf, slice of bread and mashed potatoes. Charging for such a small about of gravy strikes me as extremely stingy.
The do offer a nice selection of Oregon wines and the service crew is friendly. Probably won’t be back as there are too many nice choices in McMinnville.

Go there! Ordered a ribeye, medium rare. I got a perfect ribeye… charred a bit on the outside and perfect medium rare on the inside.

Don’t go if your hungry and expect food. We ordered after waiting a good five minutes. Then, 35 min after placing our order, the server informed us that he forgot to submit our order… PUNT!

I don’t know how this place doesn’t have five stars. Every time I have eaten here I have had excellent service! And the food is always to die for! We rarely go out to eat but when we do its not even a question of where we want to go. The salads are so yummy and fresh! The burgers… THE BURGERS! I have never craved a burger until I had the blackened blue burger here. Best burger I’ve ever had! The beer selection is great and they always offer you samples so you can make sure you get a beer you’ll enjoy. If you haven’t eaten here I highly suggest you give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed!

At last. My husband found a beer that resembles English Bitter. He said it’s the best beer he’s had in years, apart from our SILs finest home brew. We also enjoyed the happy hour menu. Chicken Satay was good as were the sliders. Service was good too.

Best chicken pot pie ever. Lots if vegetables. And perfect crust. Stout beer was ok. Not great. Desert. Yes. House made ice cream. Very good.

Combining the atmosphere of a classic restaurant with the modern fun of a visible brewery, Golden Valley Brew Pub is a McMinnville favorite! The variety of IPA’s, Blondes, and Dark Brews will have your taste buds dancing until you can’t feel them anymore! A star lost for service (15 min over time between meals), however an otherwise perfect spot for date night or family get togethers!

Food is great. The service not so much but I think the server we had was new, that’s why I didn’t lower the rating. We have eaten here before and it was just as good. Consistency is important.

I have never written a negative review before, but I feel compelled to write this one. I wanted to take my daughter out to lunch today and we ended up here because it was close to her workplace. We ordered salads so it would be quick and she could get back to work on time. We arrived about 12:15. The restaurant was not really busy. After about 40 minutes, the server came by and said she just checked on our order and it was still going to be a little while. At 1:00 we still had not received our food. We asked the server to give it to us as a takeout and bring us the bill. I paid $ 25 for a lunch that we were not even able to eat together. Now that is really bad customer service.

I enjoy this place. Food always seems consistent, beers are enjoyable, staff is friendly. At times waits can be longer than wanted but I’ve only noticed that when there are some very large parties being served.
Overall, if you want good food and beer in a very nice setting I would recommend this pub.

I love trying local beer so I had to try this place out. The service was excellent! I was able to get a table outside and was promptly greeted by my server who was knowledgeable about the different beers they had. Not only does the place offer a good beer selection, but the food was delicious! I had the mac and cheese and caesar salad.
If I am back in the area, I will return to try more local beer and delicious food!

what has happened to the GVBP? this used to be our favorite go to restaurant for dinner. (we’ve probably been there over 150 times since they opened!) I used to recommend them to all my friends and colleagues but no more.
everything has changed and went down the tubes. it started a while back when a steak we ordered came out still bleeding and we asked for well done! there have been several issues with the food each time we’ve come back and the wait staff seem like untrained newbies. Its such a bummer because when they 1^st opened, they were great! 5stars! They need to step it up a few notches as there are a lot more restaurant choices in Mac!
DISAPPOINTED AGAIN!

Had dinner at this place but honestly there service totally sucks, waited 50 minutes for our salads, I ordered extra meat but my extra meat didn’t come with my salad till I finished my salad, I noticed that a lot of the people that came after us were living because they had finished with their meal but our food was not out. Then I inquired about our food and they told me that they burn the steak, that they were preparing a new one. A friend of mine also ordered a salad without onions and when they brought it was full of onions.
The manager came over to apologized but that was it, when the bill came the comp my salad but everyone else pay thw full check.
The bad part of the experience is that we were celebrating our friend Birthday.
Never again wish management will read this and contact me.

Not impressed again I will not go back. never got asked if i would like more to drink or anyone at our table for that matter seen our server maybe 4 times in 2 hours we there. Im so tired of crappy customer service I’ve been here 4 times and only 1 time had a server who asked us how our meal was after a few moments into the meal I dont have to give my hard earned $$$$$ to those who think customers will come in anyway no matter
How the food or the service is he acted annoyed that we had 5 women at a table and 2 of them ordered just dessert shame on you… dropped of checks for us to pay and didnt see server for 20 minutes had to walk up and ask to pay and they said your server has to do it one person says I just washed my hands or I would do it still took like 20 minutes to do that… I had a beer and a glass of water I believe in asking when the glass is half empty if I can refill or replace the beverage its about making people happy its the customer service world. Get a new job if you dont likento make people happy.

I loved my Tuscan Chicken salad from here! The lettuce was red leaf, with creamy goat cheese, chopped apricots, candied walnuts, perfect roasted chicken all topped with a light & creamy poppy seed dressing. It was absolutely satisfying. My hubby ordered the ribs and he was less than satisfied. The meat was tough and it was mostly bone and the sauce a little too thin. The beer was above average on the whole — I liked their porter. Definitely worth checking out for lunch.

From all our visits of a party of two or a party of 9, we have always had good service.
I have always enjoyed the Tuscan Chicken which is Gluten Free. It has many flavors going on. With candied walnuts, apricots, greens, blue cheese, and a large grilled chicken breast.
This last visit my husband had the Sausage & Smashed. Mash potatoes and a choice of two sausages from the three kinds they offer. Very European dish and nothing healthy about it. …I had to try it… It was good ! The sausages were large. Probably more then I could eat, but my husband did not have a problem cleaning his plate with the help of a couple Thistles.
One of those off days… Not sure if the cooks were having a bad day or someone was filling in but everything that came out of the kitchen was, lets say… crispy. My husband did not order a burger for the longest time fearing it would come out as charcoal. I think someone was having a bad day.
If you like a warm coffee drink. They do make an awesome Spanish Coffee !! I recommend it.

A nice little spot in McMinnville for beer and lunch.
Golden Valley impressed us both from the start. We got the taster flight of all ten of their beer to try them all. It came out on a wood stave and had a list so we could follow. That’s helpful because more are going to follow. We split a bowl of the tomato basil soup on this chilly day and it hit the spot and wasn’t creamy at all. My liking was to the darker beers and I got a pint of the porter, my hophead wife got the Chehalem Mountain IPA.
For food we both ordered salads, spinach salad for the lady and Greek with Blackened salmon for me. I liked the veggies that were in the salad, particularly the kalamata and green olives. I made short work of it. Kris seemed happy with her salad too.
What I wasn’t happy about was the dude who sat down right next to us with his buddy and proceeded to watch a video on his phone at full volume for maybe ten minutes. My inner squirrel stirred about restlessly, bouncing off the walls of my skull. Headphones maybe? Perhaps engage your dc in some conversation? Drove me nuts. But, good beer and food pulled me through and he was done and gone. And then, so were we.
