I stopped by this new gourmet food truck on Hwy 78 right in Mcqueeney at the 725 intersection, which is 2 miles off of I-10 at the Love’s Travel Stop exit. I bought a Mexican coke for $ 2. This truck will be serving authentic Mexico City, oaxacan cuisine – tacos on «corn» totillas, arepas, sopes, tortas and all the other things that you know. All the ground beef is bought daily from one of two local meat markets(you know the names). Nothing will be frozen including all the meat for the carnitas, asadas, and other traditional Mexican taco fillings. They also have mini tacos for a dollar 35, one being BuChE, which is fried pork stomach unlike tripe, which is beef stomach. Nasty? Maybe, but I can’t wait to try it. On the Gringo menu, there will be quality hamburgers, hot wings, hot dogs, and even authentic bacon wrapped Mexican hot dogs. The owners father and mother work the truck in the day; He worked at Spago once with Wolfgang Puck in Beverly Hills, and both the mother and father worked for Vegas casinos for 20 years in hotel food service. They have a signed lease here, but I can’t guarantee they will be here forever. I gave them 4 stars until I can try at least 3 food items on the menu. Regarding pricing, The price range for burgers around $ 6.50 which includes fries. His burritos are almost 10 inches and 4 inches in diameter. He has one notable burrito called a mixup, which has a meat, rice, beans, and a whole chile rellanos(stuffed with cheese). Count me in what!!. They use authentic Mexican white cheeses here(Chihuahua and queso fresco).
