We tried their AYCE sushi night as a family. There is a pre-set list of what can be ordered for the AYCE option. Warning — it’s pretty basic. Don’t go in expecting any of their more exotic options. The AYCE options have a lot of carbs in comparison to the protein. If you want to fill up on the cheap, it’s a good option. If you are selective you can have a decent meal. It’s definitely a quantity v quality trade-off. The food is still good, it’s just more along the lines of what you find at the Wegman’s sushi counter. It’s a great idea if you’re taking someone for their first sushi outing and you don’t want to make a massive investment. We saw lots of people doing AYCE and bringing in their own wine. It’s a popular night. While I thought the AYCE sushi was a decent deal, I still prefer ordering from the regular menu. Their sushi remains good and their presentation is still attractive. Depending on what you order, it will come out looking so pretty you could hang it on the wall as art. That said, I still think it’s a little over priced for what you get. But for Centra PA sushi — it’s a good option. I took my daughter there a few months ago for a girl’s dinner out. The two of us spent about $ 70 on sushi rolls and we were stuffed by the time we were done.

Diverse sushi menu, nice customer service but if you are a well traveled sushi aficionado, don’t come here with high expectations. Did I enjoy my meal? Yes. It was OK for what it was. I have been here several times and the service has always been polite and efficient. I have only done the weekday lunch specials on take out, which I don’t typically like to rate until I’ve have had several visits and tried their sushi. Service/ambiance: Today we did sit in lunch. We were a party of 2 and the first in. The place smelled like a fish market, which was not usual for them. I was a bit dissapointed that a party of 10 that came after us was served completely before we got our rolls. Bigger party = big tab = bigger tip I guess? Food: As an appitizer, we had the spicy shrimp. For $ 6.50 we recived 6 small/medium shrimp. The plate was a little misleading and horribly presented. It came on that first leaf of iceburg lettuce that one usually rips off and throws away cause its oxidized, thin and wilted. The shrimp came with tempura sweet potato fries. Lots of them. Everything was drowned in sauce and it took us a few bited to realize there were fries with the shrimp. The sauce was OK and I really felt it needed more shrimp. Our sushi had a nice presentation. They«glued» a fish tank decoration on to the platter with wasabi(my new culinary adhesive?) The steamed lobster roll was very good. It was a good mix that was consistantly diverse with each bite. The fried seafood roll was cooked. When I think«fried» in a roll, I think flash fried to crisp up the outside. The seafood inside was partially cooked and threw me off. Is it cooked, is it raw? I didn’t like it. We ordered a side of fried rice as well. I liked the fact that it had finely minced carrots and no peas. Overall, it’s the closest sushi place to my home and it’s not horrible, but certainly not a place I would recommend or go out of my way for. Simply a place to just, eat.
