The food is good as always. Went back to try them after almost a year. Got some paneer makhani and sag lamb take out. The one big downside is that their prices are a little higher and the portions are some of the smallest I have seen at any Indian restaurant! Used to be my favorite Indian restaurant in the Harrisburg area but not any more! Mango Grill in Hagerstown attracts customers from as far north as Shippensberg and is the Best Indian Restaurant in a fifty mile radius ! Bombay Junction is definitely not the best Value for your money when it comes to good Indian food !

Try out their chilli chicken. It might not be on the menu but if requested, they make it per your taste of spice! Its the fusion of Indian & chinese food that gives taste buds more fun!

Went for the lunch buffet. Simply the worst Indian food in Central PA. And I’ve tried them all. low quality ingredients and food so bland. Try Masala Bistro for much better food.

I’ll start out by saying that Bombay Junction serves the best Indian in the area(hence the extra star). I’ve tried several others and they all pale in comparison. With that said, this is the most poorly managed business that I’ve ever frequented. The buffet is pretty great. A lot of options and isn’t toned down and bland like a lot of the Indian buffets tend to be. Keep in mind though, that if they get busy, you may have to wait for plates and silverware. Sometimes, even when it’s slow, you might have to get up and serve yourself some of the room-temperature water from the pitchers on the counter. I suggest only going in mild temperatures as well. If you do decide to go in the dead of winter anyway, bring your parka, hats, mittens, scarves, etc. because they will not turn the heat on. For these reasons, I decided to get my fix by ordering take-out from the menu. If you’re ordering from the menu that they provide on their website, don’t bother looking at the prices. I calculated my last order, with 6% sales tax included, and it was $ 5 more than what they showed on the menu. In fact, when I was deciding what to order, I decided to try one new dish, but otherwise, kept my order the same as usual. I noticed that the new dish was $ 2 cheaper than my typical one so all the more reason to change it up. Wrong. Came out to $ 1.50 more, per my credit card statement, so keep in mind that they name their own price here. If you decide to proceed despite this, add 15 minutes to whatever estimate that they tell you the food will be ready in, and you MAY not have to sit and wait for it. You should also factor in the extra time and gas money that you’ll be using when you have to go back to correct the order. On my last visit, they tied my bag up. Not wanting to rip it open and make a mess out of my car, I asked the employee if they included the chutney I requested. Got home to find an Indian pickle instead. No rice in the bag either, so I decided to venture out again to get those items. They told me that they had run out of rice as I watched heaping plates of biryani being delivered to a table. Rice is a staple for Indian food. You don’t run out of rice. It takes 15 minutes to cook a pot from start to finish. a much shorter amount of time than it took to complete the order. I made my own rice. kind of defeating the purpose of wanting to order take-out in the first place. If by some chance that you still decide to go, and your order goes seamlessly, without error, then praise the holy gods because you just experienced a miracle.

An excellent dinner served by a warm and welcome staff! Although the restaurant was about to close early for the evening, the owners were gracious enough to keep it open for my friends and I. The location is not ideal as they are on the side of a strip mall, and can be easily confused with the Bombay Bazaar, a grocery store, which is right around the corner. Nonetheless, once you find it, the food is great. Everyone from our party of six enjoyed their meals. I had the dhaniwal korma with goat, and it was simply delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. I will certainly keep this place at the top of my dinner choices next time I’m in town.

Came back after moving away was greatly disappointed. Entrées were not kept fresh, food was not well flavored, choices were not varied well. Rice and naan. we’re even hard to come by. Very disappointed! Why would anyone eat eat anymore is beyond me especially when Masala. Bistro is so much better and much less expensive.

Well my boyfriend and I went with some friends to this place. I am new at Indian food and so I went along with it. It was a buffet. Nothing was listing ingredients. It just says way it is and here you go. I had to ask a friend and my boyfriend about the food and what was not as spicy because I don’t like spice food and because it seems like nobody wanted to help I kind of felt uncomfortable. Also I don’t know who was a customer or a work. Nobody ask about drinks or nothing when had to try to find somebody for the check. Man this place stinks. I heard from my friend that it use to be great but not it is not. I don’t see anything that great.

Most recent visit(yesterday): We stopped in for the lunch buffet. Good selection of vegetarian dishes, some not your everyday offerings, were well-replenished. A variety of condiments including mixed pickle(achar), coriander chutney, coconut chutney Tamarind sauce, raita. Many of the dishes had a reasonable amount of spice(about a 5 or a 6 out of 10), enough to make me sweat: the owners didn’t dumb down the dishes for the lowest common denominator. That’s what the raita is for, to cool off an overexcited palate. The owner, Vijaya(I hope I got close to the correct spelling) was pleasant and conversed with us as we enjoyed our meal. Definitely worth the trip.

Called in a takeout order — they refused to label it, took 20+ minutes longer than they said it would be — and they have no AC. Hope the food is better than the service

They’ve changed owners and cooks, and the restaurant just isn’t the same anymore. The food isn’t prepared as skillfully, and as a direct result, the taste just isn’t there. This is a real shame because we used to go here regularly.

Disorganization with a capital D was the word of the day during my first visit! It appeared to be a family run with shouting between the wait staff(the matriarch and a busperson) and a harried kichen staff. The Chicken Tikka and Eggplant Biryani was served a full 90 minutes after we Ordered. Food was tasty, but will not be back due to horrendous service. Also, ordered chai tea. It was served without one hint of spice… it was concentrated black tea with milk. I make my own chai tea with simmering water with cardamom pods, ginger, cinnamon bark, black pepper, and cloves and black tea. milk is added to the simmer just before serving. At this restaurant, Only could taste the milk and overwhelming tannin of the tea in the featured beverage! Yuck!

I am not sure what has happened to this place. Service was poor. Water served in small glass that needed constant refilling. No complimentary pickles with papadums any more. The sampler appetizer platter sharing plate was not very large for the price. Our naan arrived half way through our main course. My friends seem to like it but it is not as good as it used to be. Is it just me or has this place changed?

Had dinner there last night. Servers were great! Gave me hints on cooking Indian at home, even offered to «season» my new Tandoori cooker. 5 star food & service! Only reason for 4 star: décor could be Improved on.

This was our first time at Bombay Junction but have frequented other Indian restaurants in the area. First thing you will notice is this restaurant is in the dark corner of a strip mall along a busy road and that is the highlight of the décor. The interior is very large and open almost cafeteria style seating which isn’t bad but not intimate date night. The décor was lacking and the temperature was extremely cold and not enjoyable for dinning. The quality of the food was very good and the bread basket is the way to go if you love naan and roti. The portion size was good for the price and the main dishes were well seasoned. Overall the food is the best thing but even that can be weighed down by inconsistent service, bad décor and cost cutting measures that tend to make Bombay Junction feel more like a takeout restaurant with tables. I would recommend it based on the amazing food but would highly suggest getting it to go.

We stopped by this restaurant for lunch on our way back to Jersey from North Carolina. The wife decided that we weren’t stopping at no Cracker Barrel, and as always, it was a good idea. The lunch buffet was in full swing when we came in, and one of the first things I noticed was that the kitchen was in open view, and the plating area were right by it so that you could see the chef literally take the food off the stove and plate it. Pretty awesome. There were several more dishes here than I would expect at a regular Indian buffet, with around 6 – 7 vegetarian dishes and an equal number of meat dishes. I didn’t eat too much of the veggies, but the wife assured me that it was all good, and the spice level was of a level encountered rarely at Indian restaurants in the US. I piled my plate with the Chicken Tikka Masala, Chili Chicken, Tandoori Chicken and the Biriyani. The Tandoori Chicken was really really good, since they had played it smart and cut the big pieces up into smaller ones to make the marinating process quicker and more efficient. Not the way I prefer it, but hey, I’ll take smaller chunks of perfectly cooked, juicy tandoori chicken, overr giant hunks of bland dry chicken any day. +1 for a good idea. i was most excited about the Chili Chicken because I have spent many a day in my forgotten youth pigging out on this spicy«Indo-Chinese» treat with a bottle of Old Monk rum on cold rainy Indian winter evenings. It was as good as I imagined it would be. Really really spicy, very well seasoned, and it was juicy as all hell. A treat for the ages. I got seconds, and thirds, and suffered horribly for it later. But fuck the future. Anyway, I had to sadly subtract 1 star for the Chicken Tikka Masala. I have no clue how everything else was so heavenly and this was so terrible. They must have outsourced this 1 dish out to a contractor. There’s no other explanation for it! The sauce was bland, the chicken was terribly dry, and to make it worse, they must have bought pre-cut and packaged chicken, because they were really weird perfect geometrical cuboids. Tragedy. The service was also good, and the lady at the front of the house who was also overseeing the cooking was very nice and friendly. I would go to this restaurant again in a heartbeat if I lived closer! As it is, this is definitely our designated lunch stop on our future travels to the south.

Visited for lunch today, and this place has seriously nose dived from just a year ago. What had been a bustling, incredible Indian restaurant, is now a shell of its former self. At noon, was one of only two diners in the entire restaurant. A year ago, the place was packed every day. The quality of the food has slipped noticeably, too. The naan was soggy, some of the fried dishes greasy, and the chicken tikka was made with what appeared to be sliced, pre packed chicken breast pieces. Avoid. At all costs, avoid.
