Intimate, friendly and warm environment with delicious food choices. We’ll definitely be back! Heads up though… I wrote the above before the bill arrived and I still stand by what I said. Just be aware that there is a rather steep«corking» fee on all bottles of wine($ 8 per bottle) and also on beer($ 5…although not for each bottle). Was a little bummed about that. Otherwise, a lovely evening and very enjoyable restaurant.

Amazing food, so surprised to find this hidden gem in medfield. Pedro and his family are the most gracious hosts you will ever meet. Can’t go wrong with this place

This place was great! Food was really good! 5 people — entrees plus appetizers plus soup — every dish was fabulous. And a great variety in flavors. Very nice service. Really nice night :-)

Excellent!!! We started off with the mixed ceviche and it was absolutely delicious! The dishes were all presented beautifully and all of the entrees we got were amazing. The owner was so friendly. This place is truly a hidden gem! I wish I could give this place ten stars.

Easily the best meal I’ve had in a year. We try new restaurants all the time. Such a great find in Medfield. I can’t urge people enough to try it! If you like good home cooking where nothing is ‘watered down’ then you will really enjoy the authenticity of this place. BYOB– liquor store right next door. Really plain in décor, quite a decent crowd this past Saturday night. Service is incredible– the owner does it all. He is so friendly and full of stories and recommendations. We are making plans to go back ASAP and would even do takeout. The food is just incredible. We had ceviche and causa for appetizers. I had Lomo Saltado for dinner and my husband had the lamb– just no words. DELICIOUS. Nothing was left on our plates when we were through. October 3 there will be live music there– would love to go for that. Try it, you won’t be sorry.

Came here with some friends and family. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a huge smile and a handshake by the owner. The service and food was great in this family owned and operated restaurant. We would absolutely come back and recommend this place to friends.

Food is delicious and fresh. When eating there you feel like the owner has invited you to his home for dinner. BYOB. When ordering encourage the owner to explain about the infusion of different cultures into the traditions. It’s fun to learn about the culture but he doesn’t share unless you ask. Very respectful and polite. Have been there a lot lately and have had a wonderful meal each time.

It is rare to fine authentic ethnic cuisine in the outer suburbs but Antara is a rare find. The food is amazing! The owner, Pedro takes great pride in his heritage and his country’s legacy as one of the best melting pots of cuisine. Everything is cooked to order using the freshest of ingredients. Of note — the Ceviche is a must. We had the cod which was perfectly flavored and a very generous portion as well. For entrees, we opted for two fabulous seafood dishes — Arroz con Moriscos — similar to Paella — outstanding! and their signature dish — Pescado a lo macho — even better! The restaurant is BYOB(wish a fee) so be sure to bring your favorite beverage(there is a liquor store next door if you forget).

This place is great. Don’t let the«almost no signage» fool you. This is great food. Not just great Peruvian food. Great food. Even if you are not a foodie or someone who considers themselves an adventurous eater, you need to try it. It can be hard to get a decent meal out here in the burbs but Antara was a wonderful surprise for my wife and I. I would compare it to a great Bolivian restaurant called Los Andes in Providence, except this place isn’t packed. Try it before it gets that way.

Antara is a hidden gem. If you’re looking for a delicious, home-cooked meal then you’ve come to the right place. It’s a Peruvian restaurant which is pretty unique for these parts. I would describe the food as Spain meets Asia with a South American wrapper. Owner is really nice. It’s family friendly and did I mention it’s BYOB which is pretty convenient seeing that there’s a liquor store right next door. Try the ceviche, the escabeche or any of their chicken, meat or seafood dishes… You won’t be disappointed.

Great food. Lovely owner. But a small place. My wife and I are hoping they do well and stay in town for years to come. So if you love trying something different you’ll have to give this place a try. The food is VERY well prepared and absolutely delicious. I don’t even have to know what it is that I’m eating(no known food allergies), so I just pick things off the menu at random and it’s always amazing. I feel full every time, but never dragged down by a heavy stomach. I’m not sure how that works out, but this is the only place I’ve ever eaten that has filling but also light food. We eat here as often as possible!

Pros — Owner was very pleasant. seems like a nice guy. I have been trying out various Peruvian restaurants in Massachusetts to try to find the best. Food and price — The food I tried was good average quality peruvian food. The portions were quite a bit smaller then the other Peruvian restaurants I tried in east boston and sommerville but the price was about 50 — 100 percent more then the other restaurants. $ 20 bucks for loma saltado is pretty steep(though the affluent area may tolerate that kind of pricing). It for instance can be had from like $ 8.95 to $ 12.95 in other restaurants in east boston and sommerville with almost double the portions in much nicer restaurant atmosphere restaurants. I saw the price and thought wow this is gonna be ALOT of food. it wasn’t. atmosphere — There is no atmosphere really. other places have traditional dress ect. this is pretty plain. i think they have a Peruvian carpet on the wall and play a peruvian pandora station. the location closes between 3 and 5 pm on weekends and has a limited menu before dinner. $ 2.50 a CAN of inka cola. not even a 20 oz bottle. Also like the two star reviewer christine from like a year ago. despite the already really high prices each of our plates, we were mysteriously charged $ 2.00 more then the listed price on the menu. but in our case when brought up he removed the erroneous charges without a hassle. so thats something Id keep an eye out for as apparently im not the first person this has happened to. In all. If I was in the area and craving peruvian food and didnt mind paying rack of rib prices for chicken and french fries Id go again. but I certainly would not travel to go there. the other stuff on the menu looks interesting but at those prices Id just try the dishes somewhere else.

I love this place! It is the best Peruvian food in Massachusetts! Even my husband who is not fond of much other than pizza loves this restaurant and takes me here often. The first time I ate here I was confused by the menu but the waiter was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. He also made great recommendations. All of the food I’ve had here is great but I highly recommend the Aji De Gallina(my husbands favorite). A true gem in Medfield.

It took us a while to actually get here(organizing schedules and finding a time they were open) but once we were seated at a table it was a great experience. The food was delicious and I loved the relaxed atmosphere where we were encouraged to just sit, relax, and enjoy. It is BYOB with a $ 7 corking fee for wine; I don’t remember the beer charge. A lovely three hour dinner on a snowy Saturday night in late March.

This restaurant is very good. I have been twice now and had delicious food both times. The first time, we shared calamari as an appetizer and I had ceviche for my meal, which was delicious. The second time the owner/waiter(?) recommended a fish dish for me which was great– very flavorful, filling and nicely presented. The food came very quickly the second time compared with the first and many more people in the restaurant, which made for good ambiance. We got some wine from next door and had a great experience– highly recommend this place!

We lived in Peru for 10 years and so know Peru’s cuisines from Chiclayo to Arequipa. Antara’s offerings are among the best Peruvian fare we’ve had *anywhere*. Chef Williams did magic with the arroz con pollo and lomo saltado we ordered. We couldn’t have been happier. We’re in Boston visiting our son, who plays for the New England Revolution– we were thrilled to find such great Peruvian food in Boston! Kudos to owner Pedro Laredo– he’s got a winner here!
