Media Hair Stop

People need to be aware that the owner of this establishment is an active troll on facebook. She enjoys calling people vulgar names and conducting herself like a lowlife pig. Be aware that this is where your money is going. I experienced this first hand.

As someone who is picky and a man-​of-​habit, I walked into Media Hair Stop about 7.5 years ago as a newcomer to town. Well, several moves later, and not a Media resident anymore, I still come here, and haven’t gone anywhere since then. It’s affordable, friendly, and a pretty fun place to go to. Definitely recommend!

Found Media Hair Stop 6 ½ years ago when I moved here and was very happy to find a place that knows how I like my hair (still keeping my military regulation cut)! All of the stylists are great!!! And for my kids, they love coming in and getting the shampoo treatment.
Unfortunately for me, the secret is out as it is harder and harder to just walk in. Do ensure to call ahead and make an appointment if you are in need.

Today was my first visit to Media Hair Stop. I’m always hesitant to have a new stylist, but the positive reviews for Toni were spot on and both stylists there were very friendly. She gave me a really great cut and was able to correct some unevenness from my last haircut. My hair is shoulder length and I always worry about looking like a soccer mom (not that there’s anything wrong with that, but I’m 29 and single) so I appreciate the modern layers and slight inverted bob she gave me. I really liked how Toni asked what I wanted all through the process and was able to deliver that.
The prices here are also very reasonable. It seems to me like the Philly suburbs have only cheap strip mall salons or very overpriced salons/​day spas that try to talk you into a lot of expensive products. My shampoo, haircut, and a great blowout was $ 25.

I made an appt with Toni for my first time at this salon. I usually only get full highlights, so my hair is very blonde. This time I wanted some low lights as well, and asked Toni to just pick a good color for me that would offset all the blonde a little. She did an amazing job! The color is beautiful, the best I’ve had in years. I asked her opinion on different cuts I wanted… she gave me all the pros and cons and I left with an awesome new cut. Everyone there was really really nice too. I will definitely be going back.

I had a gift certificate for a Wash, Cut & Blowdry with Toni and she is a terrific lady. The salon itself is not fancy — and they don’t push you to purchase products — in fact I was not asked anything about product at all which was kinda refreshing.
A great blowout. And a cut is just $ 17 ($ 25 with the blowout.)
Single process color is $ 55 (with or without a cut).
Kids cuts are $ 12 (under 10 years old).
I’ll be back to see Toni again for sure!
