Squid Lips Overwater Grill

Not good food. Unfortunately, I’d have to advise to steer clear of Squid Lips. The waterfront view is the best thing about this place, so if you’re going for drinks with a nice view, you should have a relaxing time.
At our table, we tried the calamari and the conch fritters — both unremarkable — and neither my husband and I could locate the conch in the conch fritter — if you love fried bread, enjoy. We sampled two different fish sandwiches, and both were bad in their own way — one fish sandwich had a sticky, syrupy sweet smothered sauce all over it — my husband couldn’t choke it down and left it — while the lady across from us had the same one, sent it back for the same sickly suite reason. My grouper sandwich was so soggy, the coleslaw soaked it real good somewhere back in the kitchen, it was gross — sloppy gooey bread ruined by meal — but the waitress was scarce and we didn’t feel like waiting another 45 min to get it fixed. Ice tea’s ordered never arrived… service was very slow.
Would we go back? No.

Always a great place to meet up with people. they can handle large parties. Great outdoor area to enjoy a meal or just drinks. Bands a great. Tryouts for new bands are always Monday or Tuesday nights.

We went to Squidlips for my birthday. We didn’t tell them because we weren’t sure if there would be any shenanigans. The food was great. They had unique menu choices but still offered some «safer» options if you’re more conservative. It was really busy and we had to flag down our server at one point but other than that we had a great time.

Stopped in with my bestie on a Thursday around 6. The large parking lot was packed so we headed next door to the library lot and found a spot. We were prepared for hoards but there were plenty of open tables next to the water. Wait staff was plenty friendly and got us set up with a happy hour piña colada ($ 4.25) and a dozen of the best raw oysters I’ve had down here ($ 12). If we’d arrived a tad earlier, we would’ve paid 79 cents a piece for them… A Jimmy Buffet cover band was setting up when we arrived and a big draw apparently. I ordered the lobster-​crab sandwich ($ 12) and my pal got the grouper sandwich ($ 14), both with fries. Both delicious and filling. We added a HH draft to the dinner. Total for two was $ 50 plus $ 10 tip. We had a helluva nice evening at a good price. The only fly in the ointment was the stinky cigar smell wafting from a nearby man but, other than that, we totally loved this place. The view of the water and the 518 bridge from Satellite Beach to Eau Gallie couldn’t be beat.

What an attractive name Squid Lips ! Did not hold its end there. The service was great. Kristin did a great job. But the food :(only ordered appetizers and did not want to order more. Rated at 2 stars for cleanness and service.

Food decent. Waitress had zero personality. Took forever to do anything. Now we arenjust sitting here waiting for her to come get a card. Sam S. Is her name… so if she is your waitress good luck.

This is a great spot in Melbourne, FL. The bacon wrapped scallops were delicious, grilled to perfection. I’m rather picky when it comes to delicate fish/​seafood, this place delivered. The combination of spice, a ting of sweet, savoury and tanginess left a burst of mouth watering eclectic flavours to be enjoyed, bravo! Also, the scallops were a very good size. We had a very knowledgeable and helpful waiter, Charlie made the experience that bit more special. He is a credit to the establishment.

Great atmosphere for everyone. Outdoor bar, indoor bar, restaurant and waterside seating. Food is well prepared.

Worst ever!!! Wings bloody!!! Grossed us both out!!! Wtf had happened here been coming here forever and this by far is worst ever!!! Blue cheese tasted like mayo!!! Jesus pamphlets in the bathroom??? Really? Manager came over and then took wings off bill, really omg thank you!!! He was a smug a@@!!! Can’t wait NOT to come back!!!

Wood grilled grouper plus the lobster and blue crab cakes were both wonderful entrées! The green veggies were also just perfect. Excellent atmosphere, our server Nicole was outstanding in every way.

Great place. Crunchy fish sandwich is outstanding!!! Salted Carmel cheesecake is great. Best views of waterway if seated outside.

bartender served us Riesling instead of Pinot Grigio twice in a row and insisted we were wrong. Obviously not a wine drinker!
The food was tasty and the band was outstanding.

Visiting from out of town. My cousin had a groupon for an appetizer and two entrees. A few of the entrees weren’t included but everything else was. We just sat down for happy hour. They had a nice selection of drinks. We ordered tuna tartar and coconut shrimp for starters. Our entrees were mahi mahi with shrimp and crab stuffed shrimp. The crab stuffed shrimp was a little heavy but the mahi and shrimp was excellent. It is served with a loaf of sweet bread and side of potato and veggie.

The grouper sandwich was amazing!

Are you looking for a place to eat good food or looking for a place to drink and eat bar food? If the later is your thing then this place gives you all that you’re looking for. Burgers, fries, wings, beer and loud music. They have a cool area outside on the dock and a sand area to feel like you’re on the beach. Location centric spot the food is run of the mill so you take your pick, for the average food selection and the old beer smelling indoor bar area I rated it average.

I give Squid Lips 5 stars instead of 4 because of the atmosphere. You Really can’t beat the feeling of walking into what is a truly historic building with amazing period correct décor. You really feel like you’ve stepped back in time. The menu in my opinion varies from ok to downright excellent. It took me a while to figure out the standouts were. And you can’t go wrong with their home made Bahama bread served in the dining rooms (not bar) with your meal. Here’s my recommendations. Lunch: Abaco fish sandwich. Tuna sashimi appetizer (tuna nachos style), jalapeño shrimp grits (my favorite thing on the menu), and Islamorada crab and red fish. Breakfast: Sunday Bloody Mary bar, and coconut bread French toast! Stay away from any of the steaks. I wasn’t a fan.

Not my first visit… but this is my first review… love this place!!! Nice live bands, lovely outdoor bar on the water. The perfect spot for happy hour! When dining you have to try the fish fingers!!! Pure bliss! Light, flaky, crunchy, yummmmmmmmy! And you also have to try the wings! The key lime habanero… whoa! Two thumbs up! If you haven’t been your missing out!

The ambiance was casual with lovely view of the ocean. Service was pretty good that’s why I gave this place a 3 star. However, I was disappointed with the food. It was aesthetically pleasing, but the seafood dishes, which was mostly fried, was overcooked. The conch chowder was not bad, but was not up to par with being authentic. The seafood wasn’t fresh. We substituted the basa, a kind of catfish for grouper.
I would not go back.

My mom loves this place. Great river front bar. Good music. Florida style all the way. Lots of events. If you have a boat you can dock here for free while you party.
Coast gard and wpc tends to stay away. Fun place cute waitresses.
