Denny’s

If I had an option of putting 0 stars I would have. Me and my girlfriend came in to have a nice dinner this evening. We were seated quickly at 6:28 pm by Aaron. Actually, we were pointed to our seats by Aaron (after he had walked someone else to theirs). After waiting what seemed like a long time our order was taken by Aaron. We ordered a couple drinks and an appetizer as well as our entrees. We got our drinks about 10 minutes later but never got any food. No one came over to apologize for the wait or give any sort of explanation as to why we hadn’t received anything. So we got up and walked over to the counter and told the manager on duty, Alexandria, I believe, that we had been there an hour and had yet to receive any food and that we had to leave. We paid for our drinks and left. I feel like the whole situation is insane. The worst service I’ve ever had at any restaurant. I am typing this from the IHOP nearby where after being here for ten minutes have drinks and our appetizer.

I just wanted to add my latest experience. A friend dragged me to this location. It was slow and mostly empty so I tried to be a good sport. We waited for half an hour before our order was taken. After that they just seemed to forget about us. When we asked about the order the waitress told us «You ain’t better than me.» Then part of our order came ten minutes later. This was after waiting over an hour. It was a skillet and pancake puppies. We shared and gave up. They tried to charge us for the food that was never delivered. Really. The manager said she «didn’t see us not eat it.»
I was just on the phone with my friend gushing about this great experience at the in n out burger in Las Vegas on Nellis and she reminded me of the horrible series of experiences at Dennys. I felt compelled to share.

Service is slow. We got seated within 5 – 10 mins and once seated, no one came to give us water or let us know who will be taking our order. We had to call someone to take our order. After our food was served, no utensils or napkins were given. Food also was not up to the mark.

5 stars for the strawberry milkshake. good food round the clock.

Popped in for my first visit ever, late night breakfast with my boyfriend. Server didn’t seem happy to see us and didn’t introduce herself. Ordered the philly steak and had almost no steak on it. I complained and she said «that’s how they’re proportioned» I just don’t believe it. Our water glasses has obviously

It seems weird to write a review of a chain diner that probably has two to three locations in every city of any size. However, I had to comment on our experience at this Melrose Park location, especially and unfortunately in contrast to a terrible experience at another Denny’s.
The entire staff at Denny’s Melrose Park was friendly, competent, and hard working. Tables were cleared and cleaned promptly. Parties were seated quickly. Cups were filled regularly. Meals were prepared and served quickly too.
We will definitely visit this location next time we are in the area! Nice job, everyone!

The pumpkin pancakes were great with a side of Turkey bacon and scrambled eggs. The Oatmeal wasn’t that good but the hit chocolate hit the spot!
The service was great. The prices were decent as well. I would definitely come back with my friends again.

This was my first time dining at this Dennys location. My sister and I decided to stop by this Dennys for two reasons. One, we were in the area and two the hush puppies are pretty epic. (My sister loves them). It was a Saturday around 5pm. Upon first entering, were were greeted by who We thought was the hostess. She kindly asked how many and if we preferred a table or a booth. We chose the latter. After being seated and taking several minutes to decide what we wanted to eat the same lady who had seated us ended up being our waitress as well. From beginning to end she was GREAT! Exceptional service! She took our orders. (Which included the zesty nachos, 1 side order of Mashed potatoes with gravy, 1 bowl of chicken noodle soup, 1 cup of cream of broccoli soup, and a Philly melt sandwich). all of which was really tastey and cooked to perfection.
Our waitress was very attentive. Even bringing me a refill when she noticed my glass was empty, without my asking. And of course stopping by occasionally to make sure we were doing okay and enjoying our food. Just before we left my sister ordered her hush puppies to go. It was brought to us just as we requested and we were given our check. At the register I commented on how great our waitress was and found out her name was Leyaunte. We’d Def come back here. The food was yummy and the service was great. Well done! =)

Well, let me first say that I love Denny’s. I think they have a great menu and everything is at a pretty decent price. I wish they would bring back the meat lovers scramble because that was the absolute best breakfast item. It consisted of pancakes, sausage, Bacon, hash browns and of course the scramble. The scramble is kinda like a omelet with cheese, Bacon, sausage, and Ham however, it’s scramble all together. It’s a great meal and I hope they bring it back.
Now I usually visit a different location when I go to Denny’s and this location which is on North Ave and 1^st is my second choice. This location is always crowded for some reason and it takes a bit too long to get your food. I also don’t like asking for refills, I fill like if the cup is empty then get it filled!
Now even though the wait is horrible and it’s crowded alot, the taste and quality of the food is great. You night have to wait to be seated, then wait for a waiter, and then for the food but it’s worth it. The workers are nice and they get the job done. They handle problems and all!
I love the food so I would recommended coming here however I would warn you about t te situation time.

Denny’s is pretty good!!! I’ve been to this particular location numerous times. Food is always pretty good. Service could use a little work at times but I’ve never had a bad experience. I was saved from starvation tonight due to the fact that theyre open 24 hours. Major plus for a nightowl like myself!!!

Love the Fit Menu when they have the fruit on hand… great place to order and pick up breakfast on the way to work.

I have literally not been inside a Denny’s since high school when this was the only place groups of us could afford to go to for food. I have to say, Denny’s, you have changed for the better. We were stopping in for breakfast one morning and I was not expecting much. Then I saw that they have ebelskivers (called puffs or something) and a whole slew of new items. I went with the southern slam and the husband got the banana caramel french toast and we ordered a small size of the puffs with strawberry flavoring. They are delicious and only $ 1.99 for 6!
The southern slam was good — biscuits were fresh and gravy not too peppery. The french toast was yummy according to the husband and he ate all the bacon as well — crispy and not chewy.
I’m not saying Denny’s is a four star place, but it gets four stars for being good for the category of restaurant that it was. Oh, and Jose, our waiter was fabulous and really sweet. We left him a $ 6 tip on a $ 20 meal just because he was so nice.

Food is good service is horrible! Never going back here. Going to the one in oak park from now on!

Great lincoln park omelet. Bloody Mary is good. Great fried egg sandwich. Price is reasonable and good service.

i think i met one of the nicest customer service reps i ever met in my life, time where hard and my sister had these coupons that gave us a free grand slam, even though we were totally broke she still treated us with the up most respect and even gave us free drinks
