MYFAVORITE They are always friendly and offer a wide selection of drinks as well as the best muffins around. Bohemian Coffeehouse is a hidden gem!

Went in because I herd all about the chocolate chip banana cupcakes, They didn’t have them. Went to order a smoothie & they didn’t have all the ingredients that go into what I ordered. I’ll just leave it at that.

Look: The shop is cozy and quaint. And sort of rustic, small and unconventional — which I like. Convenience: There’s not a lot of sitting room. There’s not a lot of room for standing either. So it’s really a get your coffee and go type of place. Not to chill and sit. Coffee/food: I was not impressed by the coffee flavor. And I didn’t see much about where they source the coffee beans from. I usually like to see fair trade or sustainable trade coffee in small shops like these. I think if they list where they get their beans from, it would also help the rustic image. They do have fresh baked muffins which looked delicious.

Best coffeehouse in Melrose and they have awesome muffins as well! I like supporting local businesses and the prices are reasonable. I have no idea why some reviews mentioned bad service because everyone has been nice that I have met. Very small place with limited seating. I always take mine to go when I visit the library.

Best muffins and if you arrive shortly after they open the muffins are fresh out of the oven. It’s a very small place, with just a few tables but if you want muffins and fresh coffee — this is your place. The people are all from Melrose and the Bohemian is a gem.

I decided to meet someone here for coffee, and when I arrived, I needed to go to the bathroom. But they are so tiny that they didn’t have one, so they sent me across the street to the gift shop. But the gift shop was closed, so I came back and asked where else I could go to the bathroom. They told me to go to the library, so I walked all the way to the library, but that was also closed, so we wound up leaving. Folks, this is not a good place to meet someone. I have never heard of a coffee shop that didn’t have a bathroom in it. I also don’t see how or why the place is called Bohemian. Not only that, but there is hardly any seating. Not a good experience, and I particularly didn’t appreciate being sent on a wild goose chase just to go to the bathroom.

Fantastic little coffee shop! Their caramel toffee latte is delicious and their plain iced coffee is the best I’ve had. We tried so many muffins and they were all really good! Wish there was a shop like this in my neighborhood back home. We will definitely miss this place when our vacation is over!

This is great change of pace from Starbucks. Small place, so if there a five people in line your out the door. The times I’ve gone there have only been one or two people in front of me. The coffee is high quality. Stored in the pump carafes. The muffins are fresh and Very good. They offer about 5 different varieties each day including blueberry, wildberry and others with banana or chocolate chips. Had the ham and cheese croissant once which was ok.

I have been coming to this coffee house for over two years. I still would give the coffee and muffins 5 stars. The staff is border line rude, they make me feel like they are doing me a favor by waiting on me. One of the people that works there has literally raised her eyebrows at me with an impatient head nod on several occasions. No words spoken, no ‘What can I get for you’. I would be nice if the owner would address this issue.

I was appalled at the lack of customer service here. My daughter won a free cookie at the local library and the dude behind the counter said the coupon isn’t valid until next week! Seriously your going to deny a 5 year old of your stale cookie because she is a week early! I felt obligated and got a smoothie. So gross — tasted like the freezer! Hipsters get a clue

$ 7 dollars for a smoothie I didn’t intend to order(they were out of bananas so their weak menu of 4 smoothie options was further reduced to 2) paired with the rudest«customer service» I’ve ever experienced guarantees that this customer will never come back. Kindness makes a world of difference.

Delicious! Small little space(not too much room for socializing), it the food was on par. I had a bagel and a maple spice latte, which I licked clean. My mom had a delightful chocolate croissant and a cinnamon caramel latte. Before we left she ordered an additional small one because it was so delicious she needed a second cup! Great little find(just don’t expect seating… more of a grab & go type place, unless you’re super lucky and one of the two spaces is open)!

Tiny space, very little seating, but the muffins are delicious. My iced coffee was fine but nothing to write home about. Closer to 3.5 stars for me, but I’ll be back.

Delicious! I really enjoyed the flavor of the coffee base in my mocha and appreciated that the temperature was hot without burning my mouth. I had a blueberry sour cream coffee cake that I basically blacked out in ecstasy while eating. My only issue was lack of seating. I wanted to hang out for awhile but there were only two tables inside and one outside– everything was made to go.

I cannot say enough great things about bohemian. First, the coffee is incredible! The other drinks are fantastic as well, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the baked goods(including vegan treats) are amazing. I hope they expand to a few new locations — that would be incredible.

If you’ve ever hosted a house party for Cinco de Mayo and positioned the bowl of guac down a hallway just wide enough for half a Shakira, you’ll understand the ordering anxiety around close time at Bohemian Coffeehouse. To call it small is an understatement. Not that one would fault a coffeehouse with freshly baked goods, a selection of smoothies and I guess that java-based drink that other people quaff on the onset of fall(or three times a day, everyday) for being jammed, but for pete’s sake, there could be order to the madness. We asked for smoothies(hers: a straw-banana over orange juice, mine: a Red, which features raspberries, strawberries, cayenne pepper and other red things) and got them, one at a time. In the interim, we noticed the waning muffin supply and hoped there’d be a blueberry and a banana chocolate chip by the time our smoothirista finished the blend. He didn’t. Another couple, two behind us in line, snagged the last blue. A nod to excellent staff empathy, a staffer refused to charge us for the second muffin because of the abnormal pastry-snaking. Much appreciated! The total still hit the $ 14 mark sans muffin number two. Mighty pricey. The smoothies drank more like frosty juices, and the muffins are stuffed with promised ingredients(more berries than anything else in her Wild Berry offering — dayum!). It should be mentioned these muffins are more like breads, with nary a crumble in sight. Not that it takes away from the overall flava, but muffin aficionados might appreciate the heads up. Five star service, three star atmosphere, two star smoothies, three star muffins and three star pricing yield a… CALCULATOR! 3.2 stars. But I’ll definitely head back next journey to the Fells, so expect an update.
