Feng Shui

Decided to try this tonight. Food is great. A little disappointed they sent fried rice instead of white but ok with it because there is no pork in it and I am hungry! The woman who delivered was very nice.

Ok, it’s your basic Chinese food… no frills. Delivery is fast and they are always friendly.
If you’re craving some good old fashion Chinese take out this is the place!

Feng Shui put Chinese food back on the map for me. The food is always hot and they have pretty fast delivery. There’s one woman that delivers most times I order and she is always so happy and nice; that customer service aspect is huge for me. If you haven’t tried their spring rolls then you honestly haven’t lived

I ordered the delivery before 6 and now it 9 and I waiting. Great effort people!
Calles them and they said it’s normal and no apologies at all. Really? That’s how you do your business?

It took over an hour for delivery on a boring Monday night and the food was not that great. Not worth the money.

By far the best Chinese food in Melrose. The woman that is always there does the delivers and she is so super nice and a sweetheart :) I highly recommend them!!!

We order takeout every Thursday from this place. Always consistently delicious food! Haven’t had a bad thing yet!

This little hole in the wall used to be our go-​to… until the completely screwed up our order and refused to fix it or refund us. I mean, getting 1 item wrong in a 5 item order is not cool, but somewhat excusable, but getting all but 1 item wrong is just not acceptable. And refusing to fix or refund? Not OK.

Picked up some yummy takeout late tonight from Feng Shui (one of the few places open past 9 on a weeknight). AMAZING General Gau Bean Curd! Have had before in the city, next to impossible to find locally. We will definitely order again!

This is by far our favorite Chinese place in the area! They have the best bean curd I’ve ever had ordered from a Chinese restaurant. We order from here regularly and it’s always delicious, timely, and the delivery people are so nice. They’ve even included freebies in our orders a few times! Their general gau’s bean curd is absolutely, ridiculously delicious. You can taste the chopped ginger and it’s the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. Prices and portions are awesome too!

Feng Shui is back!
Feng Shui was our go-​to for Chinese delivery/​takeout when we first moved to Melrose 4+ years ago. Sadly, they fell off the wagon about 1 – 1.5 years ago when they first changed ownership, so we have not ordered since 2 bad experiences with delivery times and incorrect orders. However, we decided to give them another chance for NYE and we are glad we did.
Their American Chinese food is delicious and their traditional dishes are flavorful and were delivered hot. We called to add another item to our order and they were pleasant to deal with and very polite.
Glad this place is back on top of it’s game. Prices are the best around and cheaper than alternatives like All Seasons (which is amazing, but pricey) and it has quicker delivery than others in the area.

I was greatly insulted today when I waited patiently in line to place my order. I was next, the phone rang and the order taker took the phone call and ignored me. I wonder if I should have called while waiting in line.
Now you have lost my business.

Had a really bad experience with this place at first on GrubHub, so I got a $ 10 off coupon and decided to try them again. Ever since then they have made up for it and more! Quick delivery (except for that first time) and I’m in Malden. LOVE their Chicken Pad Thai (my bf and I order it spicy and get it almost every time he comes to town) and Eggrolls, reasonable prices also.

Finally, good Chinese in Melrose! We had been driving to Stoneham for years before this opened. They don’t act surprised that rice comes with the food. Majority of the dishes taste the way they should and the Chef specials are excellent.

When they first opened «under new ownership» last fall, I was really impressed. Very friendly people, and good food. I was so happy to have another option. I went back a second time in the fall, and had the same experience.
Since then, I can not believe the 180 degree turn this place has made. I gave it not two, but three chances, and all three experiences were subpar. Not sure what happened, but it’s to the point where I won’t go back. Number One Taste in the Highland’s section is a better, and consistent, option.

Wanted to try a different Chinese place. Ordering was good, it’s nice when you can just say it once and it’s correct. The food was average, added dumplings to my order and it came with two… not bad but I’ve had better.

Ordering Chinese food on New Years may have been my 1^st mistake.
The food I ordered was inedible. Seriously, my dog walked away after sniffing it. Even after 3 strong drinks it repulsed me.
I ordered food here before and it was decent, but after last night no way. There are so many better things I could have dropped $ 40 on.

Needed a place that delivers late on a Sunday… But failed to deliver on quality food. This is by far the worst Chinese food place I’ve ever eaten. We ordered the low-​mien combo with pork fried rice, chicken/​broccoli combo with chicken fried rice and boneless spare ribs. All of the items were bland, undercooked and not tasty.
I will never order from here again. I would advise you to do the same.
One note: delivery man was nice — that is what justifies the One Star.

Good chinese take-​out place, one of the better ones in the Melrose area. Big portion size, fresh vegetables. It’s a keeper.

I am a huge fan of take-​out and having recently moved to Melrose, I decided to begin trying the different ethnic food spots in the area, starting with Chinese. I just wish I had started with another spot first. It wasn’t the worst Chinese food I have ever had, but it was pretty darn close.
While the rules for storefronts in downtown Melrose keep the outside looking decent, inside it looks every bit of a typical hole-​in-​the wall Asian joint. I have had some great meals at places that look similar, so I was not totally put off, but the wide open view of all the dirty pans in the kitchen did not leave the best impression. No menu to be found online was also a bad sign, but being new to the area with this place a few blocks from my house, I forged ahead.
When I try any Chinese place for the first time, I always go with General Tsos chicken, but prefer shrimp if available. Sure enough, General Tsos shrimp was on the menu. Too bad they were «out of shrimp.» On a Friday. For those keeping score, that is 3 strikes already and I haven’t even ordered, but I went ahead and got the chicken and BBQ spare ribs app. Again, very standard and usually a good measurement of overall quality.
The BBQ spare ribs were okay. More sauce would have helped as they were pretty dry. Likely not made to order and had been sitting for awhile.
The General Tsos chicken was terrible. Little, to no sauce and way more broccoli than chicken. I don’t know if they put the broccoli in the container while it was still wet from steaming or what, but the bottom had a ton of moisture in it that watered down what little sauce there was. The chicken was over-​fried with a batter to chicken ration of at least 2 – 1. They should just call it General Tso’s fry batter.
With so many other Chinese options in the area, I will likely never come back here for a second chance, no matter how close it is to my house.
