I have been going to this take out style Chinese restaurant for the last twenty years. The food is incredible. the staff understands what Spicy means !!(few places do) Must try an Egg Roll, it is the Only place I will get them(spoiled). Prices are reasonable and similar to local restaurants of the same caliber. I drive 20 minutes just to get to Golden Express to place my order. Lunch time weekday crowds can overflow the place Kung Po Chicken comes highly recommended all vegetables are crisp and fresh. Food Quality 10⁄10 Staff 10⁄10 friendly and warm Cleanliness 10⁄10 Décor Come’on its take out 4⁄10

I ordered lunch special of wonton soup and chicken lo mein. Both the soup and the lo mein lacked flavor so the food tasted very bland and plain. In addition, the place was not very clean looking. Behind the cash register i could see the man making my food and it didnt look dirty and it looked like he was making it fresh which was good. But all around me it was unorganized and unappealing looking. The resturant could use a good reorganization of stuff and a cleaning. Even if it was cleaned up, i would probably still not come back because of the bland food tho.

Located in the horrible parking lot with Starbucks and la focaccia my coworkers and I decided to come here for some lunch specials. Lunch specials come with an entrée, rice, soup or a can of soda or an egg roll for $.50 more. Most of the lunch specials are around $ 8.(Meh) I went for the moo goo gai pan with brown rice. I asked for my sauce on the side because I don’t like it drowned in sauce. I also got the wonton soup which was half the size of most Chinese places and came with only 2 wontons and broth no pork or scallions. The sauce that came with my entrée was brown and had scallions and I’m used to having white sauce with moo goo gai pan I prefer it with white sauce. Their brown sauces are also very liquidy and not thick. Steamed pork dumplings were ok, but I didn’t care for the dipping sauce. The place is very grungy. I would look else where for some Chinese.

By far the worst service ever for Chinese delivery. Ordered lunch at 12:15pm and the young man that took the order was clear and thorough, making me think this place was going to be terrific. WRONG! Well over an hour later I called the store and got an «it’s on the way,!» from an older man on the phone. The food arrived about 20 minutes after than and was so so — by far not the best Chinese ever, and the soup portion for lunch was almost a joke. I would never order from this place again as they added a $ 1.50 delivery fee which they should have waived for the terrible service. Lots of competition out there — too bad my local place was closed!

Food is pretty good but they use a bit to much soy sauce in the lo mein. Delivery man was very rude asking me for a tip as i turned around to set food down to get an extra 2 dollars to give him on top of the left over money from the order he was already getting. overall id order food from here again but probably pick it up instead.

Standard Chinese takeout. Decent food at a fair price. Nothing spectacular but I’m sure I’ll be buying lunch here frequently.

Have tried several dishes, general tsos, boneless ribs, shrimp with broccoli, lo-mein… Everything is good! Really like this place. Highly recommend it! Get the boneless ribs well done. You’re welcome.

I have passed this place 100 times. Friday I pulled in and grabbed some fried dumplings and roast pork lo mein. My issue is not with the food. It was standard Chinese passable. My problem is the place is not clean. Leftover food and cooking supplies were in the dining area. The kitchen is a mess. The floor is filthy. This reminded me of an episode of Restaurant Impossible on the Food Network. The vast majority of my reviews are positive. In this case I will never set foot in this place again.

Best Chinese take out in town, their sesame chicken and their wings are best I’ve ever had, hands down.

Been ordering from this family owned mostly take-out place for at least 15 years and the food is consistently what you expect from a neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Never a bad meal and always delivered with a friendly smile. If you like the classics, this is good. if you are looking for Asian fusion or something exotic its simply not the place for you. Good pricing on lunch specials too.

One of my favorite chinese food takeouts by far around me :) i have never been to the actual place as i always pre-order through the phone and get someone to pick it up or just get it delivered. i have never had a problem with their service let alone their food :) they even have my address on file when i order through the same number which is a plus! i’ve had better tasting chinese before that is why it gets a 4 out 5 but i think everyone has their own acquired taste when it comes to takeout food. p.s: the delivery guy is so so friendly even if my dog is barking up a storm :)

Hard to find a Chinese takeout that takes credit cards. Food is mediocre, but what do you expect from a takeout? No stomach ache, got the order right, affordable, and fast. All of the above and very consistent.

Unfortunately this is the closest chinese takeout place to me, the food is average to say the least, and I always manage to get a stomach ache after eating it to fast. But alas tis the only chinese takeout place around

Not much in terms of quick take out style eateries along Broadhollow either in Melville or Farmingdale. Had a craving for General Tso’s and this was the only Chinese joint to show up on my GPS in about a 5 mile area(I was in Farmingdale). I headed over and parked in their convenient lot(though I’m sure it gets busy during the day with Starbucks next door). The place has a few tables to sit at, a television, and what looked like a very clean restroom, things you dont find back in Queens. The General Tso’s took a bit longer than average to make, but it was as requested extra spicy and was really delicious. The chicken was large pieces of juicy white meat chicken, not the small doughy pieces you sometimes get. The rice was on par and had a nice taste, not overly oily or hard. Prices were average and the guys working were really friendly and we had a few laughs over some wrestling show that was on the television. Parking lot in front.

Ok so I am working in the area and have eaten here 8 times already. All Carry –Out. The place is small but clean. I’ve had the chicken wings, house soup, seafood house soup, and steam dumplings. Last night, I wanted to try something different and went to pizza place next door. I’m kicking myself right now. Want to see the bruises? Should have stayed on course and ate what I knew was good. This place is a lifesaver for a business travel like myself. Where bad food is the norm and not the exception.

Last week we took out from Golden Express. In the past we had been satisfied but our memories of Golden Express were better than our experience this time. We ordered Egg Drop Soup, Egg Rolls, Steamed Dumplings and Fried Dumplings, Sesame Chicken, Pepper Steak with Onion and Roast Pork Fried Rice. In addition, we asked for the house mustard and some duck sauce. What we got was disappointment. The Egg Drop Soup, Fried Dumplings and Fried Rice were simply OK. The Sesame Chicken and Pepper Steak were both very fatty. It was difficult to find a piece of meat that did not have this problem. They also forgot to put the mustard and duck sauce in the package even though this was part of the discussion with the man at the counter. Considering that the two main portions were so bad it’s unlikely that we will take food out from Golden Express again.

I had a late night at work and we decided to get Chinese take out for dinner. There aren’t many Chinese takeouts in the Melville area, so we decided to try Golden Express. We ordered several dishes for pickup, and we out the door and back to the office in less than 15 minutes. Food was a little expensive here, my order consisted of Beef & Broccoli special combination for $ 7.35 which includes rice and an egg roll, and a pint of hot & sour soup for $ 2.25. The beef was flavorful and usual as expected from a Chinese takeout, but quite a few pieces were on the chewy side from all the muscle strands in the meat. Broccoli was cooked perfectly, soft but with a nice crunch to it. The hot & soup soup was a big disappointment. As soon as I took it out of the bag, I could tell it was overdosed with soy sauce, as the soup was very dark in color. After my first spoonful, it was your typical hot & sour soup with mushrooms, chinese fungus, tofu, chicken, but slightly on the salty side. After a couple spoonfuls, the saltiness left my mouth wanting to eat rice and drink water. Overall, ordering and pickup turnaround time was very quick but the food was disappointing and a bit overpriced. I will probably avoid this place in the future and keep my eyes open for better places in the area.
