Hampton Inn

Okay so here is the bias– we stay at a lot of hamptons. Because we know what to expect. It was us and 4 kids
Staff was awesome
Suite was more dates than elected and I have stay in cleaner ones but it was good.
Food was usual and good
Location was key. Memphis is tough and hard to find a safe place. This Hampton was actually kinda tricky to get into but I find that to be a positive deterrent to bad guys. All in all, positive experience

This is an older property, but nicely kept. The pricing is fair, and as a Hilton Honors Gold member (I lost my Diamond status *sob*) they gave me a free upgrade to a suite — woot woot!
My room had a full kitchen, which I wasn’t expecting — full size fridge, dishwasher, sink, microwave, coffee maker, etc. Dishes and all. There may have been a cook top, I didn’t really notice. Sofa, 2 TV’s one in the living room, one in the bedroom, a vanity off the bathroom, a dining area and more. For being an older room it sure was big and nice, it didn’t feel old and dingy like some other older properties.
The staff were pleasant. The other details of my stay were as I would expect from a Hampton Inn & Suites — clean duvet cover, free continental breakfast, free parking, etc. It was a nice pleasant stay and next time I’m in the area I’ll stay here again.

We have been here since November 23^rd due to a bad dishwasher water supply line install by Lowe’s. The resulting flood ruined our new oak floors.
The front desk is friendly and efficient as are housekeeping, janitorial and food service. There are limited tv channels and the Internet is slow but I brought my Verizon box for travel.
We have a suite with full refrigerator so we could bring food from home and manage simple meals. There is a microwave and dishwasher but no oven or cooktop. Only cube refrigerators are available in regular rooms. Not practical for lengthy one month stays.
The location is on Germantown Rd close to I40 and Wolfchase Mall. Despite all the traffic the rooms are very quiet.
There is a business office and meeting room. The workout area has two treadmills but no activity. There is only one washer and dryer located on the first floor. I used it only once when the hardwood floor installers unplugged my dryer to use the 220 plug.

One star for the pool being open until 10 pm. One star for easy check in. One star for looking the part of a clean hotel. No star for the fuzzy reception on the Direct TV receiving LCD television and missing channels from the claimed line up card in the room. No star for the hairs I found in and around the tub — none of which were mine or my sons’ who are too young to have those kinds of hair yet. Yup, it is gross but we aren’t just talking about head hair, although there were some of those too and I’m bald. Somebody slacked on that part of the clean up — what else was missed? Minus one for the nagging questions…
