It’s hard to survive in a poor location. Sandwich was really good. I REALLY wish them the best, but my gut says Robert from«Restaurant Impossible» needs to come in an bless Happy Hoagie with a renovation, help with the menu, and a financial boost to re-stock the inventory. I’ve been through the same business challenge — got the stomach acid, lost the t-shirt and felt bewildered what to do. Stop in an support the business instead of hitting the chains next door.

This looks like amateur hour on the remodeling. I like the stained concrete floor and the paint on the walls is really artistic. The front counter looks cool with the tin roof on the sides. I just couldn’t help but noticing how shoddy the walls are constructed. The hallway leading to the bathrooms are built with paneling that are falling apart. There is a wall right underneath light fixtures. Wtf? How do they expect to open the light fixture up to replace bulbs with a wall underneath it??? There is a deli case up front that’s broken down and empty. The back area looks like a grave yard for storing old equipment. Not enough light to take a picture and didn’t want him to notice me taking pictures. There is a room built with a curtain hiding a couch. Are people living here? There are two square holes in the wall at different heights from the office or living quarters. Is this for two different people of different heights to spy on guests in the dining room? So weird. You know they have cameras these days! Also from 11:30 till 12:10 on a Wednesday afternoon there was absolutely no one else there other than the two of us. This place just made me feel really weird. The gyros were ok, but I really don’t want another one. The menu is lacking many options. I just can’t explain it, but I didn’t like it. I feel bad for him because I’m sure he’s just barely hanging in there. I don’t expect this business to survive.

Gyro is amazing! I came here specifically for the gyro. Im a huge goat meat and hot wing fan so of course this restaurant is on my list of hot places for a gyro. The inside isnt very special, i might just order for take out next time.

This was my first time here. My husband came by for lunch yesterday and raved about the gyro. Today I had the gyro and he had the chicken schwarma. Both were delicious. Tons of meat on the gyro, and fresh, tasty veggies. I tasted the schwarma and it was awesome too. Seriously, huge portions, but we’re not complaining! We were the only customers the whole time we were here, which is surprising for how good this place is. Will definitely be coming back again to try all the other items on the menu.

My wife is in love with this place and has gotten me a couple things to try from here, namely a falafel wrap and a chicken shawarma wrap. Both have been good but not great. I’ve had bad falafel, ok falafel, and fantastic freshly made and fried falafel. This was definitely in the ok range. The chicken shawarma was ok too. Neither of the wraps were outstanding, granted they were still good. Now I have not tried the gyro; however, given the quality of the rest of the food I can’t imagine that it is outstanding either. There are few places to get a truly great gyro in Memphis and a lot of mediocre ones. I may come back and update my review once I do that, but while my wife may love it, personally I’m not inclined to go of my own accord.

We used to go to this place a lot — well, until the recent changes. It has changed from Pita Wrap to Happy Hoagie. I thought it was just a name change and renovation, but the ownership must have changed also because it is NOT the same food. My family and I ordered the falafel wrap(which we LOVE!) and a chicken wrap. I took one bite and I knew it was different — it was more like a sandwich, and the falafel was not the same consistency as before. My daughter had the chicken wrap, which looked and tasted nothing like the previous one. Sorry, but we will not be going back.

Ate here for lunch today with my dad. My brother has been telling me I need to try this place for awhile now, and I’m so glad we got the chance to eat here today. It’s in the same strip as Cici’s in Cordova. The owner is so nice and friendly! The food is awesome as well. I had the gyro. Yuuum! But the falafel was what blew me away– Perfectly fried. Ready for round 2 of this place already

Absolutely the best Gyro in the city. That is pretty much all I order here — but it is the best I’ve ever had. The menu also includes Reuben and Falafel. Great service — the owner couldn’t be any nicer. Recently renovated. Definitely worth a try.
