UPDATE: The service is still awful. I have given it multiple opportunities, because the food is really good. But, the service keep me away from this place. The food is actually really good. I’ve had several items and they are all good. The beer selection is one of the best in Collierville. HOWEVER, the management sucks. They really have no idea how to run the front of house. I have walked out once and was really close another time. The front of those needs some major work.

This is one of our favorites in collierville. Very good menu — enough variety for our whole family. Kids menu has fun stuff for them to do& healthy food choices. Over 100 beers on tap to choose from, plus bottles. Staff very friendly. Private room available, patio seating.

Seeing as this place is in a strip mall, granted a swanky posh strip mall, I was tempted to grade on a curve and inflate the star rating. Then I thought: heck no! As a sports bar, maybe it is good. It’s got lots of TVs tuned to different sports so the chances are good that your sport is on. I’m watching the Caps annihilate the Flyers while the Flyers kill the Caps’ players. But it doesn’t make up for the pop corn music they’re playing and the low energy in general of the crowd tonight. I ordered the Fiesta BBQ Chicken salad. It came in a mixing bowl for crying out loud. Probably some corporate design dude said«Dude, it will be awesome!» but it’s not awesome when the force of your fork causes the stainless steel bowl to spin. I mean really I spent a greater part of second period chasing my chicken! The beer were good. They were both local Tennessee beers. While Hickory Tavern is definitely not a craft beer destination, at least they have some! Oh, and the Caps are winning 6 – 1!

Classy sports bar with corresponding classy pricing, but always a great time. The street truck menu is a great deal.

I had been eyeballing this place and today I decided to give it a try. Before I talk about the food, let me just say, the atmosphere is really nice. It’s a sports bar. TV’s everywhere and the bar looks fully stocked. It looks like a great place to hang out and have drinks and appetizers. Now let’s talk food. The host was extremely nice and very accommodating. We ordered the barbecue nachos. The chips were not fresh, which made the entire dish bad. I ordered a turkey melt, which was fine. My daughter ordered the shrimp tacos and they were ok, but my husband made the mistake of ordering a steak. It was tough. He didn’t complain. He ate the salad and vegetables. Overall, we weren’t impressed. There wasn’t a dish that wowed us. We both decided that we won’t be giving this place another try for lunch, maybe for drinks though. I think the owner should consider condensing the menu and focusing on specializing on a few really great dishes.

I had a lot more fun here than I anticipated having. When I heard there were a million TVs in here I was worried it’d be deafening but it wasn’t at all. I came with a group of six and we ended up being seated at the middle table. That was really the coolest spot because we could see everything around us. We enjoyed making commentary about what was on one TV or another or the colorful bar but in general we were able to have our own fun conversations as we usually would. Service here is slow, but we got adopted by a waiter, John Michael, after a while of no one coming to serve us. Whether he was joking or not we didn’t care because he was hilarious and delightful the whole night. We really felt like we were taken care of. We ended up sharing one person’s hummus and bbq nachos as apps and I am so glad we did. Hubby got nachos as well but without the sauce and I gotta say the sauce is what makes it awesome! Also, I love that their nachos had grilled chicken chunks instead of shredded chicken(though hubby likes shredded more). I just really really liked them. I do want to note that if you request removals of things they tend to remove quite a bit. Hubby’s nachos had significantly less toppings along with no sauce and my friends vegetarian version of the quesadilla was missing a thing or two she hadn’t asked to be removed(she got hers redone). I got the Korean BBQ Tacos and they were tasty. I am definitely glad I risked trying them. Two of my friends got the smothered chicken. One remarked how awesome it was that it truly was smothered– so much so that it was«too much to keep on the chicken.» He was very pleased. All in all it was an enjoyable night. While I tend not to seek out bars or taverns to dine in regularly, I definitely won’t mind coming back here if the group wants to return. To Try: — Potstickers — Chicken Quesadilla Loved: — BBQ Chicken Nachos(with everything– fav) — Fries — Korean BBQ Tacos — Midori(drink) Liked: — Hummus and Pita Points — Vegetarian Quesadilla Disliked: — BBQ Chicken Nachos with sauce removed

I first visited Carriage Crossing around the Christmas and quickly learned all the fun restaurant options there. A month or so later, with family in town, I decided to go back and finally try one of the places to eat. After hearing about the Hickory Tavern, I decided to take my visitors there. We went a little after lunch on the Sunday of the Superbowl. There was a notice on the door saying they would be closing early for the Superbowl(kick off was at 5:30). When I approached the host stand I asked when they were closing and if we had time to eat. There was a guy and a girl there just looking at me. The guy was like«ummm» and looked at the girl for a response. They debated if they had time to serve us in front of me(it was an hour and 15 minutes before they were closing!!). They were very unprofessional and it was terrible customer service. Eventually they said yes, «we had time» and ok’d another lady to seat us. The lady who sat us greeted us with a huge smile and was very friendly. I think she was overcompensating for the poor service she witnessed at the host stand. The served was also nice and very helpful, even though he had only just started. The food was just OK. There was nothing great about anyone’s food and the prices were a bit pricey for the food quality. They have a good restaurant idea/style and a great location, but they seriously lack in customer service training and effort put into the food preparation. Both are very easy and inexpensive for a business.

I was really happy this place opened in Collierville. We are sports nuts and they have so many TVs you can watch any game you might be interested in. The atmosphere is lively, loud, and super clean. The bar is really pretty with a nice display of liquor. The food was tasty. We had hard apple ciders, wings, mac and cheese for the toddler, and a big salad. I will come back with friends or the family. The server was very efficient and nice to our daughter and even surprised her with Oreos on the way out the door! Nice touch!

Waited on an appetizer for 40 minutes. It never came out. Paid for our drinks and left. That is not cool at all. Very disappointing. They weren’t even particularly busy.

Went here on Friday night after some shopping its nice that its in the outdoor shopping mall. We started with the seared tuna appetizer and it taste pretty good. For my dinner I had the linda’s turkey melt and sweet potato fries I like them both. This would be a good place to go if you drag your man shopping with you to eat at after he’s done carrying all your bags :) They have a patio that has tv’s and its heated.

Visited this restaurant for the first time with some friends. Although the reviews were good and bad I must say I totally agree with the reviews for the bad service. Their service is not all that good and we had to wait several minutes for our server. Although he was a bubbly something, at times he was a little overboard with things he would say — too friendly. I will also agree with some of the food comments as their wings are not better than the local pubs and BWW places. I tried some of their wings and the gator tots were really good. We also tried the loaded French fries as an appetizer and they were really good. The atmosphere is awesome though. Televisions ALL around the place. Overall I would go back just to try something else and hopefully the service is better. It’s worth a try.

We finally were able to try the newest edition to the restaurants at Carriage Crossing recently. First let me say that the outdoor patio is AWESOME! Even in the cold weather, the ceiling heaters that they have installed outside keep this area nice and warm. After a small wait, we were seated in a booth towards the back of the restaurant and we were promptly greeted by our server. We started off with the Chips and Queso and the BBQ chicken nachos(as it was highly recommended by our server). First off, the BBQ nachos were terrific! It had the right amount of spice and although it could have used a bit more«stuff» over the nachos, it was really good! As I said, the downside to this appetizer was that there was more chips than there was«good stuff». The chips and queso were also very good! This did not taste like your run of the mill queso dip and had a terrific spice profile to it. The dinner orders were as follows: French Dip — This was HUGE let down. The beef was WAYYY overcooked and was not sliced thin enough for a french dip. The au jus was flavored very nicely and I think if some better training goes into the prep side of this dish it will be very successful. This sandwich was served with tater tots and they were terrifc! Lobster Roll — This is the real deal folks! My wife LOVED this sandwich and there big beautiful pieces of lobster meat. It was prepared with just the right amount of mayonnaise and again the season was on point! Well done! There was definitely a long delay with getting food from the kitchen to the table as that was where we seemed to experience the majority of our delays. The beer list here is terrific and the service from the bar is quick and all of the servers are very friendly and seem happy to be working for The Hickory Tavern. While it is «just another chain» I look forward to returning here and trying more of their food.

First time checking out this mini-chain sports pub. Positioned to the front of the Collierville mall it’s easy to find. Large outdoor patio with overhead heaters and 4 flat panel TVs. The front doors open to a spacious main dining area with an array of high top tables arranged to maximize seating without feeling cramped. Nearly 50 flat panel TV’s line the walls with two large projection screens on opposing walls for featured games. A huge 20+ seat«surfboard» table on one side is great for large groups. There is also a private room for events. All seating is assigned and the staff trends largely young mix of high school and college kids. Seating can be slow and inefficient during peak times. The bar is sprawling and seems fairly well equipped. About 25 taps pour a large array of Macro/micro/local brews by the 16oz, 20oz, and pitcher. Keep in mind while they open at 11am, cville laws prohibit beer sales before noon. Started with chips and salsa.(3.5÷5) Basic bulk salsa and chips. Lightly salted and somewhat bland. For the price($ 5.50 for large) they should be bottomless but aren’t. The wings are flats/drummies(3⁄5) They were good sized but quite undercooked… Fatty with soft rubbery skin. They needed a couple more mins in the oil. Not sure if this was a one time thing or a trend. Next time I will order them hard fried. Hot sauce(their hottest) was fairly spicy. Thin with heavy vinegar and loaded with black pepper. Solid but unspectacular. The undercooked wings took this down to a 3. «Truck Food» Pretzel(5⁄5) At $ 5.50 for two good sized soft doughy pretzels… this is the best«Finger food» value in the place. two dipping sauces are provided, a white cheese which is good, and a tasty mustard which we all loved. Definitely a must-have for any pretzel fans. BBQ Chicken Nachos(5⁄5) At ~$ 10, you’re served a soccer-ball sized mound of toasted chips, chicken, cheese, bbq sauce, and more. Very tasty and generous serving. Skip the regular chip/queso and go for one of these! Service(5⁄5) We had heard of bad service in the past but our Server Erin B was exceptional. Very attentive, responsive, and freindly. During a 6 hour stay watching football on a sunday we sat through a busy lunch rush but never felt like she forgot about us. Two issues with undercooked chicken(coming out cold) were immediately remedied with an apology and a smile. We will definitely be back. Hopefully they get the undercooked chicken problem remedied. My guess is they have a preset timer and the most recent batch of wings were larger than the«reference batch»… resulting in insufficient cooking times.

Really good food /atmosphere. Struggling with wait times. I’m sure it will immediately improve as they are open longer.

Had a great experience here. Tons of TV’s to watch any game you want. Beer was ice cold and the food was fabulous. Very attentive wait staff took great care of us and manager came over and introduced himself to our group. Will definitely go back many times!

I see some reviews here that I hope don’t steer you away from Hickory Tavern. I expect they will work through some of their early growing pains as far as getting people seated and food inventory. I loved the place. Our server was extremely good. What was very refreshing was the fact that we now have a sports bar where you can choose anything from a burger and fries to an extremely healthy salad! Food was exceptional! The beer selection is vast and I thought the overall value for price paid was great.

Just got back from Hickory Tavern. Had a fantastic experience. There are so many TV’s and the staff is happy to accommodate your TV viewing choices. We ended up watching the Grizz game on multiple TV’s. They have a huge beer selection and their beer was ice cold which I love. The queso dip is a must! So good. French dip was also delicious and we all had tater tots and couldn’t get enough. All of these previous negative reviews are obviously from people who went the first day or 2 while they were figuring out the kinks. Give this place a shot. Keep in mind it is a sports bar… not a place for kids.
