Jack Pirtle’s Chicken

Stopped by on the way to family reunion. Everyone liked their meal. We had chicken tenders-​A, chicken wings-​A, cheeseburger-​A, and chicken sandwich –b. Overall it was good.

This is for the Lamar democrat location.
The sign on front is falling apart. Bathroom dirty. Menu is reflective and the sunlight glares so you can’t read it. All you can see is reflection of cars going down the road. Also was confused that dinner did not include a drink. Had to order that separately. Seemed high priced to me, but the steady influx of customers suggests that most people are willing to pay. Tables are left up to customers to clean. There was no staff what so ever to tend to dining room. Sat down only to discover you have to ask for any ketchup or salt you may need. They were out of hot sauce. No salt on fries. Biscuits are like small frozen Pillsbury biscuits.
Good news, the chicken and gravy are awesome. Still not a great experience.

The gravy was amazing however the tenders left something to be desired. I definitely want to go back and give their bone-​in chicken a go. Their livers and gizzards are some of the best I’ve had and my husband swears they are the best way to cure a hangover.

The location is extra tiny it’s not very pretty to be looking at… per say… but the food is off the bam. I love the gravy & fries. This is my last stop before going back to vegas.

Ok, I’m a liver and gizzards kinda girl and these were not good — two totally different treatments in terms of coatings, and neither was edible. Apparently, I should have gone with the sandwich that is recommended.
