The water with lemon was DEELISHOUS! And the rave stops there, we ordered a nice variety of their menu and it was pretty bad. The salmon was old and fishy the ranch dressing was salty, so much so it made the salad awful. I have never had salty ranch, watery, yes, tasteless, yes, but never salty. Definitely not worth 14.50. On to the wings, they’re hot. That’s all I can say. They profess to be smoked but I couldn’t discern any smoky flavor, the sauce was your standard sauce. The bbq plate was tasteless the voodoo potatoes well, perhaps the spell will hit me in two hours. The fried green tomatoes followed suit with lack of flavor. We went for lunch on a Friday and though Beale St. wasn’t bustling the fact there was only one couple dining should have been a clue. When we left there was a new couple probably suckered in at the sight of us as we were suckered by the previous couple. Lol.

We went to Kings Palace on Beale Street after eating @ Charlie Vergous Rendezvous this place is kind of a dive. They had a blues band playing with no cover charge. We were really enjoying the music as the band was pretty good, but unfortunately we left because they allow smoking. Doesn’t Memphis have any laws about NOSMOKING.

AVOIDTHISPLACE! The bar tender does not care about the service and totally oblivious to service. Got served a funny tasting beer and asked for fresh beer but refused. Called me an idiot and said get the fuck out.

Great outdoor section with free amateur blues and cheap beer. Could you ask for more? I haven’t tried the food, but it sure looked good!

Victim of local and tourist reviews: The food here is just OK. I wouldn’t come back. $ 10 for 4 med shrimp wrapped in fatty bacon, flavorless potatoes and chicken, soupy étouffée. Don’t bother unless you’re desperate!

Gumbo was good… and the restaurant was ok… but it’s REALLY at on the patio!!! Restaurant closes & the band on the patio in the alley is the BEST!!!

Awful! This place was a disgrace to Memphis BBQ. The bartender tried to discourage me from ordering food because it was close to closing time. I had a meat platter that came with ribs, pulled pork, potatoes, and coleslaw. The ribs were so over cooked the were crispy on the outside and dry. The pulled pork was super dry. I’m not sure what they’re trying to accomplish with the potatoes, but they were disgusting. The coleslaw was OK but the portion was so small there wasn’t much to enjoy. I had a bacon and cheese stuffed shrimp appetizer that was slightly better than the entrée but still over cooked. I should have listened to the bartenders advice. Clearly the kitchen took no pride in the food they put out. What a shame… The one positive was that I did get a nice strong drink!

Sat outside with a cheap(in a good way) beer and listened to some great music. No idea on the food since I didn’t order, but it’s a cool stop on Beale St.

The food was super tasty I ordered the cabin combo and it was a flash back to the times I’ve spent in NOLA it was that good. I would have rated them higher but service was super slow for it being 9:30 on a Sunday. I would like to note I did have the BEST long Island iced tea of my LIFE here

AMAZING Ribs. Got a full rack to go with a baked potato and I destroyed it in one sitting it was so good. Not cheap but you don’t go on vacation to save money, you go to experience what the cities got to offer and Kings Palace did just that. Had to order ribs at the bar since I think was to go.

Barbecue spaghetti from King’s Palace Café in Memphis, TN. The tomato-based BBQ sauce with onions and red and green peppers was spicy. The pulled pork was a bit charred and moderately tender with decent smoke flavor. Overall, it was pretty good. My only gripe was the long wait(twenty minutes or more) due to the«café» having one server/bartender working the floor.

The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Margi gras pasta and«championship» jumbo for lunch. My friend had the crab cakes. Nice and cool inside and friendly service. However, our server took forever to bring the bill. We were obviously waiting for it and had finished eating and yet he still didn’t come. Casual southern atmosphere. Good food. But where is the bill

Really great food and service. Stopped on the way to a Grizzlies game, and didn’t have to wait. Really good creole food. The fried chicken salad is delicious! Live music makes the atmosphere pure Memphis.

I like this place because it has an old school white table cloth restaurant with blues hall feel! I have tried a few things here and nothing really blew me away except for the Cajun chicken pasta… it is really good has a lot of spicy to it with a smokey flavor. Get the half order unless you are starving because the whole portion is huge! We usually go in late night and grab a spot at the bar and chat with Hawk the bartender. He is a great guy and you will have some interesting conversation with him… this is a great last stop to wind before you head home.

Experienced Memphis for the first time over the holidays & heard raving reviews about this spot — I couldn’t resist stopping in! Our server was exceptional and suggested we try(& share) the full rack of ribs with ½ dry rub and ½ wet rub + the side of twice baked potato. He did not steer us wrong — the food was incredibly delicious. The meat on our ribs came right off & the rubs complemented them so nicely. I found myself in cheese heaven with the twice baked potato — sour cream, cheese, chives mixed together made for a mouth full of awesomeness. Don’t leave Memphis without coming by and eating a rack or ½ rack of ribs from King’s Palace Café. You won’t regret it.

Came here on the last morning of my stay in Memphis at the recommendation of an Arkansas local who was giving me the lay of the land. He said it was hands down the best breakfast on Beale St and therefore all of Memphis. All I can say is that the omelette was amazing — cooked just right with the most delicious cheese combination, biscuit and bacon sides… the bloody mary was the perfect hangover cure, as was the bottomless coffee that helped alert the senses that particular morning. Say hey to the staff — they were great too.

This was my go to loner hangout after I turned 18. Literally nothing has changed in the past 18 years. Pleasant surprise! Here are the reasons I have always loved and still love this spot: 1) Friendly, fun service and casual atmosphere 2) Almost always live entertainment 3) Good grub, good drinks, good prices 4) Pool hall upstairs There’s nothing crazy wild that stands out, it’s just solid good times without the fuss.

I actually was drawn in by the Cowboy Neal band playing on the patio. There was a small line just to find a patio seat which was ok because you can stand there and enjoy the music while you wait also you have an outside walk up bar. Ordered the BBQ sampler with ribs and the pulled pork. Let me tell you this was the best BBQ I’ve ever had.
