It says they’re open 24 hours, there was a guy inside who was waving us away from the place at 4:30 in the morning would not answer the door and would not give us any explanation as to why they were closed. There was no sign on the door saying that they were closed. Probably will not be going back.

Horrible! Had to throw half of it out… would rather pick up sushi at a grocery store. Not sure why I thought this was a good idea.

Many different opinions about this place. No it is not the best sushi, nor is it the cheapest. Thats exactly what you should expect. Don’t go late in the evenings, the sushi is made around the lunch hour so that’s when it is the freshest. Anyway, there’s basically nothing raw in any of the selections, no fishy smell, some people are just paranoid. It’s fast, convenient, and moderately priced for something around grocery store level. Also decent serving size for the price. So if you are in a rush and are in need of a sushi, here you go, they also of course have other obvious gas station items, seaweed salad, octopus salad and some other things, as far as I know, no more rewards cards so goodbye free drink/extra pack

ok… cut the crap about the best sushi in town! what reviewers rated this as such? all you hear about is the sushi at the gas station, i go in and it is displayed nicely, but not made fresh when i walked in, sooo strike 2. bites into sushi and it is sweet and kinda gooey, ummmmm yeah! and strike three the pieces are morsel small like sushi skittles or something. overall taste wasnt as bad as some sushi, but not the rave review type sushi at all!!! Want try it again…

Sushi… at a gas station… do I really need to say more? I guess I will go on to explain. I have lived in memphis my whole life and have heard that this was the place to go for cheap good sushi. My boyfriend and I finally gave in to all the hype and ate there. I ate two rolls and couldn’t force myself to eat anymore. I love sushi. I have tried a lot of sushi places around the world and I know what cheap and quick sushi tastes like. This was old and smelly. If you aren’t picky about your sushi, this is the place to go. I would rather pay the price and go to Sekisui for sushi that actually tastes good.

so y’all realize that none of the«sushi» you are purchasing contains any raw fish, right? i was down to try this place, my husband said it was my inner redneck that was willing to eat gas station sushi, i say i was just really curious as people RAVE about this stuff. i’ll give you that it was cheap, and didn’t give us food poisoning but smoked salmon, imitation crab, and fried shrimp rolls ain’t real sushi. sorry mr. lee! i am totally bummed because my last sushi experience was about $ 80.00 at DO, and albeit delicious, that’s just way too much for us to spend on a casual take out dinner. when it comes to seafood in memphis, i think it’s best to stick to fried catfish…

Pretty good sushi considering it’s made in a gas station. I had a spicy tuna roll that was definitely worth the $ 5.99. Bonus: you can also watch them make the sushi if you don’t believe it’s fresh.

One of the more memorable sushi experiences was had at Lee’s. I was on vacation(the hotel is a few blocks away) and felt like having a lazy day. I walked down to Lee’s because I had seen sushi advertised when we stopped for gas a few days before. Got the standard sushi equipment; a california roll and a spicy salmon roll. I also got a seaweed salad. All of it was pretty good… for a gas station sushi joint.

Perfect for quick, inexpensive sushi. It’s in a gas station at the corner of Poplar and Ridgeway so it sounds really strange. But it is good and fresh and made daily by a sushi chef. Go here for your quick sushi fix. Most of the rolls are under $ 10.00. It beats fast food when you are in a hurry and want sushi. It’s also better than the sushi I have picked up at Super Target(when I needed something quick.)

The idea of going to a gas station for sushi is a bit strange, I know, but Lee’s always has fresh sushi. A bit below gourmet quality, I would rank some of their rolls among the best in Memphis. They give you a card to have stamped when you buy sushi. It looks like the new card awards you a free order for each 5 you buy. What a deal. Don’t forget to ask for the card if you think you might be coming back. My 2 favorite rolls are barbecued eel and crawfish. Check it out. They also have a deli, lottery tickets and gas.

I would give this place four stars if the sushi rice wasn’t so darn sweet. Otherwise for fast food sushi it’s pretty good.

There’s a gas station in East Memphis that sells sushi. Technically, the food operation at this particular gas station is called Lee’s Fresh Sushi and Deli, but Memphians know it better as the«sushi gas station». Before you start worrying about the safety and quality of any sushi purchased from a gas station, know that there’s no reason to. The goods are made fresh daily in the store by a sushi chef. The sushi isn’t my favorite in town, but the convenience is hard to beat. It’s not bad sushi — it’s just a little less flavorful than the sushi you’d get at Sekisui or Do. I had the California roll, which was very fresh and decently tasty. My package had 12 pieces of sushi for $ 5.99.
