Grumpy horrible service. The crabby lady at the counter acted as if she was doing me a favor by seeing if I needed something.(«You need something» was the greeting I got, after making me wait 90 seconds with no else to wait on) I Should have just left. then the other lady took my money when I offered to pay up before I got my stale bagel and gave back my change without a thank you or even a glance at me. I dont know how they stay in business. And Im not the only person who has been given crappy service. They can keep their attitude and Ill keep my money and go elsewhere in the future.

I’ve come here a few times and love the food never had any issues before but I just recently came here and had the worst experience. The woman working there was incredibly rude. I couldn’t believe how disrespectful she was being towards me. She just had the worst attitude and clearly has no idea how to be kind to her customers. I am not sure if she is the owner or not(highly doubtful as I’m sure she would have been way nicer if this was her establishment) but she was an older woman. I was so angry over the whole experience and will not be going back there anytime soon

First off, I would like to acknowledge that Wicker is located in the heart of a quaint town named Mendham, which is based on no commercialism and no competition. Together, this creates a mediocre atmosphere which Wicker adopts so well. Whenever I step foot in Wicker, which is thankfully not too often, my order is consistently screwed up. I tend to order the Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese and one of those things always happens to not be included in between the buns. Yesterday it was the egg and more often that not it is the cheese. Allow me to inform you that many of these reviews are based on locals’ opinion who do not know any better since they probably have never left Mendham in the last year. Wicker is at best mediocre and if it weren’t for the fact that they are quick, they would have been awarded a well deserved 0 stars. Keep in mind that this place also has no seating-just another perk of the non competition factor.

Whenever I’m in the mood to splurge on breakfast, I head to Wicker. The neighborhood deli in the center of Mendham, Wicker offers the best breakfast sandwiches on this side of the Mississippi. Try the 6+(Taylor ham/pork roll, egg, cheese, hash brown, salt, pepper, ketchup). It’s hearty, filling, and runs under $ 5! A true gem!

I’m sorry that I’m not a frequent flyer and I don’t know what to order… but«everything» usually means«everything.» I stopped by this place to buy a couple sandwiches for our flight back to California because our friend highly recommended the place. I checked on Unilocal and it does have pretty awesome reviews. I walked in and there were a couple people waiting for their sandwiches so I took a couple minutes looking at the menu. I would say the menu is a bit disappointing for a place with high Unilocal review. That’s okay… I want to look beyond the simple décor and menu. After walking up to the counter, I placed the order for couple of sandwiches. The man asked me what I want on it. I explained that it will be eaten in the airplane so I don’t want it soggy and wanted his recommendation. He just gave me this blank stare as if I was speaking Chinese to him. So I said«everything except for dressing.» Again, another blank stare but this time accompanied by «what do you mean everything?» WTF, do I need to bring out a dictionary to tell you the meaning of everything? What is so confusing about what I’m saying? On top of that, the sandwiches weren’t even that good…

Went here after going to Maplecrest Ford. BEST subs in area. Traditional role, shredded lettuce, great helpings of meat. I live in Basking Ridge and have been trekking over once a week for a whole! Close to the benchmark… Hershey’s in Westfield.

This place is great for quick and great deli food. Most places in Mendham are slow and pricy, but Wicker Basket makes great food at a quick pace for a low price. Great place to go if you’re in need of something. A classic is the chicken fillet.

This was my first experience with a Jersey deli(when my family moved here years ago). My brothers and I tried it out(expecting the same mix of slimy cold cuts and too much confetti lettuce that you got at independent delis in SoCal at the time) and were blown away. I ordered a roast beef with green olives. It was on a real roll, with nice slices of rare roast beef, and enhanced with the spicy, briny olives. A great sandwich.

Had a cajun chicken, sharp cheddar & honey mustard on a fresh wheat bun today. Incredible! Stumbled across this place in a proverbial wealthy suburbia hell where my only other dining choices would have had my lunch over $ 20! Thank you Wicker Basket for saving the day! Only downside is there is no seating inside. Maybe you guys can throw a couple of tables and chairs in your place for my next visit! You have plenty of space for them.

I came by for a weekday lunch and what a good deli! I ordered the roast beef sloppy(which for some reason came ½ roast beef and half turkey, but, in the end it didn’t matter as it tasted marvelous!!) along with the not always easy to find reduced fat Cape Cod chips. Super fast sandwich making service, numerous choices of chip and drink accompaniments, very fresh meat and bread make for a great take-out deli experience. And to that surprisingly reasonable prices for high quality ingredients and larger-than-average portions and you’ve drawn the winning ticket! I also spied what looked like a soft ice cream(or was it something to make shakes? I didn’t get to investigate). Parking in the busy King’s lot isn’t too bad. PS– bring CASH, they don’t take credit or debit cards.

You are not going to find a better breakfast sandwich anywhere in NJ and the half and half’s are simply amazing… You can’t go wrong here. There selections are endless!

No one in NJ does a Sloppy Joe like the Wicker Basket… it’s the butter against the bread that makes it PERFECT…

Good sandwiches and great coffee, but the place is in dire need of renovations. The friendly staff makes this place a favorite for locals.

Usually I wouldn’t write a review about a deli, and if I did, couldn’t imagine it earning higher than a single star, as I feel that if you have eaten at one, you’ve eaten at them all. But after my recent visit to the Wicker Basket in Mendham, NJ, I decided to spread the wealth. The deli is small in size, and is meant only for take-out. I noted that the hours were fairly ealry as well, much like any other deli in the area. A giant display case wraps around the counters, showcasing the different types of meats and salads they have to offer. I also noted that there was a certain delicious aroma that filled the air. Wicker Basket is busy… every time I drive by or stop in, there is usually a line(especially during school days, thanks to the town’s high school just down the street). But it is well worth the wait. Wicker’s customer service is excellent and creates a very friendly environment. I noted that one of the biggest sellers they offer… a delicious half and half lemonade/ice tea drink that costs only $ 1.50, was flying off the shelves, and workers were scrambling to get more out. I ordered a Chicken Fillet sandwich and a half and half. The price was very reasonable and once my order had been taken, it only took a coupel minutes to get the food out to me. I ate the lunch in my car, and I have to tell you, I honeslty don’t think you can get a better Chicken Fillet anywhere. It was moist, juicy and filling… I look foward to my next visit. I highly recommend the Wicker Baset for a basic deli lunch to anyone, as I feel it is the best deli I have ever eaten at.
