Helena takes good care of my hair – cuts and highlights are always done quickly and well. I rarely have time to get my hair done, and the thing I like best is that my hair grows out in a way that still looks nice, even months after my last cut.

Just like any other salon, there are several stylists that have different ways of handling hair, nails, etc. Although everyone here is always very nice when I come in, I can’t comment on anyone else’s ability to do hair except Suzi. She’s been cutting my hair for 14 years and NO ONE ELSE touches a hair on this head.
Back when I was a professional actor a bad haircut could have cost me a job and I’ve never had anything but awesomeness from Suzi. She’s the best! My kids go to her too and if teenagers trust her you know she has to be good. So if you live in the Bay Area and need an awesome cut or style, call Suzi. She’ll make sure you look like a star!

I **LUV** Suzi! With naturally curly hair, it’s always a big challange for me to find a really good haircut. A friend referred me to Suzi when I moved here 2 years ago, and I am sticking with her like super glue! She totally gets my hair!

This salon sucks — I went there reading great reviews about the owner, Ben. He cut my hair strangely. My hair is all messed up now. I will never go back. The salon isn’t an high end salon as stated in other reviews — it is messy, the instruments are old.

I really needed a haircut and since I no longer work in the city, I had to find a new hairstylist.
I set out to find someone who isn’t over hyped and knows what she is doing-​plain and simple.
The salon itself isn’t fancy, which I am totally fine with. It is in a good location and near my office. The pricing is really fair too, $ 65 for long hair. Like the other reviewer mentioned, Haily is really sweet and quiet; very low key. Her skills are amazing! I told her I wanted to keep my hair length but without so much weight. She totally worked her magic and 20 minutes later… voila! My hair is much lighter and has really good movement, but she kept my length intact!
Minus one star for Helena and others loudly chatting and eating proscuitto or salami.

I have been a client of Helena Gray at European styling Parlour for over twenty years and continue to marvel at her talent as both a stylist and colorist. Helena knows her stuff!
I have had many haircuts from Helena over the years and have never been disappointed. Some of the best cuts I have had were done when I just left it to her to give me a style which would work with my somewhat wavy/​curly hair. She knows what my hair will do and she knows what will flatter my face. And when it comes to color, I don’t think there is anyone better! I have been getting highlights from Helena for years and always receive compliments on how «natural» looking my hair is. You can tell that Helena cares about her clients which is why many of us keep coming back.
Located in Menlo Park’s Victoria Station, the shop is bustling on most days and the stylists who work there all seem to be having a good time. It’s a happy, friendly place and one where the client is always treated well.

If you’re looking for a well-​done updo at a fantastic price, then look no further than ESP. Celine was able to create a complicated coiff based on one worn by Jessica Alba at a recent awards show in a mere 30 minutes. Though she did it quickly, the quality certainly didn’t suffer — it stayed put for a good 10+ hours (and even overnight because I was too lazy to take my hair down after the event I attended). As if I wasn’t impressed enough by how quickly and how well it was done, I was floored by the price, only $ 40! Definitely the best value I’ve ever personally experienced for an updo in terms of quality and price.

I always have my hair done by Heidi and she is really good. I’m Asian and have a long thick hair but she always knows what to do and try something new when I ask her to. Still it always comes out really nice and I always feel so good walking out the door!

Wanted to put in a good word for Ben Nguyen, who can be found at this salon. People have reviewed him separately on Unilocal,so you can tell he’s got the skills to earn himself a loyal fanbase:
Ben has always been on time for appointments and his services are well-​priced for the area. If you leave it to his judgment, he tends towards tidy, cleancut looks (as opposed to «edgy» or «rock star»). He is meticulous even with seemingly basic haircuts; I have never needed to even things out with self-​trimming upon arriving home or after the first wash. More importantly, his cuts grow out _​gracefully_​!
The salon itself is rather «no frills», so check it out if you’re willing to pay midrange for a great cut, but you’re not expecting wine service or cucumber-​infused water for your money.

This is the place to go if you want a great colorist! Suzi is my stylist and she is really good with coloring my hair. My daughter goes to her also.
She does highlights, low lights and styles my hair every couple months.
She takes her time and makes sure I am happy with the results. For the price you can’t get better than this!

I started coming to ESP 18 or 19 years ago and although I no longer live in Palo Alto it is worth the drive back to the Peninsula to get a great haircut and highlights. I have lived in SF and traveled widely but I have never had a better haircut than the one I get from Celine. My 16 year old son and 14 year old daughter adore Celine and rave about her work. Helene is the owner of the salon and, like Celine, she has a loyal following of stylish woman of all ages. The salon is very simple, not at all pretentious. I have never used the other stylists but they are all pleasant and, from my observations, competent.

I’ve come here several times over the years. When I was in high school I worked at the tanning salon next door (used to be Tanfastic) and ran here before or after shifts for highlights. The owner Helena is sweet woman and I always enjoyed her work and our talks (integral t a good hairdresser).
Fast forward years later and I have rediscovered the salon. I dropped in the other day and got a necessary root fix and a toner on the spot. Suzi Sunnergren was nice, professional and did I great job. Her two dogs were also at the salon and they helped fill the necessary down time while I processed.
Reasonable prices make this a winner! I am definitely coming back here.
