Express Cleaners

We have been using Express Cleaners for over two decades. I tried a couple of competitors over the years near my Redwood City work but, ended up realizing Express is the best. The only coupons I get are in the mail and they are cheerfully honored.

Her book keeping is ridiculous. She lost a very expensive shirt, then lied and denied ever seeing it. She eventually admitted her mistake, but blamed it on the place where she sends the shirts, but refused to pay for it! She offered me a store credit for less than half the value of the shirt. I would never consider using her services again so the credit was useless.
The owner is extremely rude and yells at her customers.
The owner smokes and the dry cleaning smells like cigarettes if you leave it too long. Although the prices are reasonable, the shirts always looked wrinkled!

Terrible customer service. Very unfriendly… how they are still in business I have no idea? Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Woman behind counter is extremely rude. Will not use again.

I’ve been using Express Cleaners for two years and have had 95% positive experiences. I stop in the parking lot behind the Starbucks 2 – 3 times a week and have never had a single coupon put on my car. I’ve never tried to use a coupon, so I can’t say how the owner responds to that. However I routinely get my dress shirts and slacks laundered there, and they have done a great job with that as well as with an occasional alteration or stain removal. The prices are comparable to other dry cleaners. While the owner can be a bit abrupt, I find her in general friendly now that I’ve been going there a while.

I second that thought, why can’t I give them negative stars??? One of the scariest retail experiences I’ve had in my life.
I was lured in there by a coupon I got (if you park behind the starbucks/​near the post office in the parking lot, they’ll litter your car with a TON of coupons — you can’t get rid of them fast enough). So I, being naïve, went in. Coupon says get $ 10 off when you spend $ 25 or $ 35 or more (or something like that). I bring in 5 – 6 items. Girl behind the counter totals them up. I give her my coupon. She says, oh, wait, I totalled wrong. It’s $x + $ 10 if you want to use the coupon. NOW IS THAT A SCAM OR WHAT?!? I, being less naïve, now pissed off, but need my clothes tomorrow & it’s 5 pm, give in (tried to explain to her what she did was ridiculous, but to no avail).
Next day, come in to pick up my items. Get them from owner. She overcharges my credit card by another $ 10. I point it out to her. She starts yelling at me in a shrill voice — something to do with her hating customers who use coupons. But she clearly overcharged me by another $ 10 (over what her employee did to me the when I dropped them off). So she gets on the phone with her credit card company bc she doesn’t know how to reverse the charge. They take some time to help her, so I’m treated to more shrill yelling at the credit card company ‘I HAVE A CUSTOMER HERE WHO IS VERY UPSET (true, but not at them). WHY CAN’T YOU HELP MEEEEE!!!) So I have to endure this for another 15 mins. Still not resolved. Then I can’t stand it anymore & say I’ve gotta go. Give her my phone # so she can call me when it’s resolved & she’s finished yelling at the poor guy on the phone.
All I can say is, Yikes!

Why is it not possible to give no star? The list of wrongs could go on and on, I will make it short.
1. Clutter my car every morning with coupons.
2. Do not honor coupons when you use them.
3. Lady in front of me had her dress ruined by them and they refused to take responsibility, and yelled at her.
4. Freind went there and demanded they honor coupon so they raised the price and honored the coupon, right back where she started.
5. Just plain old rude people, the owner needs to get laid or something.
So after all that I will keep my long stories to myself you should get a feel of what will happen to you if you happen to try and get an item cleaned there.
