Tangerine Salon

There are only two stylists in this world that I trust wholeheartedly with my hair. My good friend, who did my hair and makeup for my wedding; and Kerri, at Tangerine Salon. I’ve known Kerri since her days in beauty school, and was also her hair model on a couple occasions when she was first starting out at salons. I can always just sit down in her chair and confidently say, «Do what you think looks good. Have at it.» That, my friends, is trust. I’m also always amazed at how quickly she can work her magic. I can always be in and out of the salon in less than an hour. Kerri is awesome, so awesome in fact, that I make it a point to schedule a haircut with her each time I travel cross-​country to visit home.

Do not go with a wedding party. I went here with a wedding party a couple weeks ago and it was terrible. They clearly had overbooked for that day and were not prepared to handle all of our up dos and make up. Multiple people in the party got kicked out of their chairs or moved to a different stylist because their other appointments showed up. One of the bridesmaids ended up hating her updo so much that she took it all down at the hotel and re did it herself. I was the last to get my updo done and since the appointments ran late the stylist Angela was very rude and made me feel that I was a huge inconvenience for her. She even said another stylist was supposed to do my updo and when her coworker asked how things were going she said it was horrible (she said this in front of me). My updo wasn’t exactly what I wanted but you can never expect that it just would have been nice to be treated like a human being rather than an inconvenience considering I spent $ 170 there. Keri should probably go work somewhere else because the makeup she did on everyone was just perfect and she was friendly with everyone.

I LOVE my stylist Geri. I followed her from another salon when she made the move to Tangerine. I’ve been going to Geri religiously every 5 – 6 weeks for my cut and color for about 6 years now. She’s the only stylist that I’ve been to who knows how to cut CURLY HAIR. I’ve been to others who would botch my hair. not Geri though! She also is a MASTER at color. I’m one who likes to try a different «look» now and then-​from purple to red highlights, and she makes me look awesome even with my crazy curls!
I’m also impressed with how Geri takes stock in her education so that she’s always on the leading edge of color and products. Each time I visit the salon, I ask «what’s new out there?» and I’m told about the various classes or seminars that she’s attending. She’s helped me find the best products for my hair type, and I’m always willing to try a new process because I know she’ll make it look great.
I really like the atmosphere at the salon as well, although I would probably see Geri if she was working out of a closet, so that’s a plus! :)

This was my first visit to Tangerine. I had a Living Social deal.
I was a little apprehensive, since my last haircut was a disaster (after the stylist I had been relying on for several years moved away and I tried a salon close to my home).
But Angela did a fabulous job. She appears to be experienced and skilled — besides being a good listener so she quickly picked up on what style I wanted. AND she is managing to repair the previous bad haircut. I left feeling like a new person!
I live in the North Shore but in spite of the drive, the great haircut I got was well worth it.

Dudes… no shame in looking for a high quality hair shop. Tangerine has what you need. Great service. Moderate pricing. Clean and well kept on the inside. Not your mom’s hair salon. Good music and friendly people. And yes there are other guys there. I actually drive from the North Shore because Kerri is such a great stylist.

I love this Salon, friendly staff, clean and great music ! This is and has been my favorite for for the 4 years it has been here. I will be back :) walkins are welcome, come on in !
