«Pretty brutal. Ordered guacamole and chips, and a shredded beef burrito. The burrito was rolled long rather than fat and easily fell apart. The chips were stale and the guacamole was easily the worst I’ve ever had.»

Taco City is not a proper nice sit down restaurant. It is more like a food counter. There are about 6 tables in there, but the dining experience is not great. I would call the food good american mex food. Nothing very traditional, but nothing bad. There is a sign up that suggests that nothing is made in advance and everything is made to order using the freshest of ingredients. I will give them the benefit of the doubt, but I am not sure I would bet on this. The food is a few steps above chain mexican food. Expect most things to be smothered in cheese and deep fried were possible. Better than Chili’s or Taco Bell but certainly not fine Mexican food. I would much prefer this place if it got a face lift and worked on the vibe in there. For carry out, I would give this place a better rating. Again, the food is pretty darn good but it takes you a bit by surprise because the place looks like a dump.

The Falls has everything I need: Target, Office Depot(my personal fave), Pick n Save, Speedway, Bath and Body Works and Fleet Farm. I mean really, what more could a girl like me want? Taco City, that’s what. When I am out and about(or «oot and aboot» as they say in Canada) running my weekend errands, Taco City is a perfect quick stop to refuel. The food is pretty standard Mexican American fare, but the ingredients are fresh, the service is quick and the price is right. Sure wish I had one right here in the Brown Diggity, but alas, I do not.

BESTFASTMEXICANINTHEFALLS! This place is fast, cheap and they give you tons of food for the price. And it all tastes great. It’s your standard Americanized Mexican food but it certainly beats Taco Bell. They always have your order ready within 5 minutes. If you’re looking for quick Mexican, go here instead of TB!

This place made my Saturday happy! First I was out running errands w/the hubby & baby, and we needed a little snack. Specifically, nachos. So we went to a chain restaurant in the area, and there was a wait for a table(sidebar: who knows so many people are going out to eat at 4:45PM on a Saturday???). Now, we truly only wanted nachos, so it seemed silly to wait for a table when I had noticed signs for Taco City practically across the street. We decided to check it out. Hubby & I split a large Chili Cheese Nachos. Mmmmm. Now, I will be fair– the quality of these nachos was pretty«fast food”– it was clearly«pump cheese,» the chips were kinda cheap, etc. BUT– they were nonetheless delicious. Very generous with the cheese, chili, and olives on the nachos. Also, the price was definitely right($ 4.99 for a good-sized plate). We ate in, and the restaurant is simple & very sparsely decorated, but it was very clean. The service(order at the counter) was fine. Okay, so fast-forward to later on that night. We intended on having a pan of homemade lasagna that my friend made for us, but it was frozen rock-solid and after baking for 2 hours, it was still cold to the touch. We knew that we needed a back-up plan unless we wanted to eat at midnight. We didn’t have much food in the house, so… hubby went back to Taco City and picked up carryout for dinner. He was so embarrassed to go there twice in 1 day that he actually debated changing his clothes and swapping out his glasses for his contacts in hopes of not being recognized. :) Anyway, I got the Enchilada Plate dinner with cheese enchiladas and my husband got the Chimichanga & Taco dinner plate. Both come with rice & beans and sides of guacamole & sour cream. AND they come w/a soda! All for $ 7.99 each! Honestly, you can’t beat those prices! Both of our meals were huge– easily enough for a full meal plus leftovers. My enchiladas were quite tasty. Are they the most authentic enchiladas? NOPE. BUT… they don’t have to be! The menu clearly states«Mex/American» and that is what it is. The enchiladas were flavorful and good & cheesy, as they should be. The rice is more of a Spanish-style rice, which was a nice surprise as I typically prefer that to Mexican rice. The beans were good & drizzled with more melted cheese on top. I tried a bite of hubby’s chicken chimichanga(good but nothing super special) and his beef taco. I have to say… I thought the taco was pretty noteworthy! Lots of flavor in the meat, and the veggies on it were fresh & not limp. Anyway, we were stuffed after eating, no upset tummies, and again… you can’t beat these prices! Definitely a new go-to place for takeout.
