I am in love with this salon. From the minute you walk in to the front door you feel as if you are being welcomed into a friend’s home. The entire staff is kind and professional. I have seen Megan for many years now and she is amazing. She is a doll and absolutely amazing at what she does. She’s a very talented colorist and stylist. I trust her 110% with my hair. The owner is very involved and always makes sure everyone is happy and satisfied. Best salon I have ever been to. Thanks to the staff for being so AWESOME.

Fatima in the Den cuts my hair, and Alexa cuts my daughter’s hair. I just asked for her comment, and my 7 year old said«Alexa is super nice.» Fatima is fantastic too!

I’ve been POSH’d! Here’s the recipe I followed: * Take one woman whose felt her style needed refreshing, but didn’t know where to start * Add a closet full of clothing and accessories that weren’t all working * Toss in a little excitement and a little fear * Add one human dynamo with the energy, experience, and expertise in helping people look and feel their best(Barb!) * Mix together for several hours The result? You emerge POSH’d! Barb Hovsepian of Au Courant | The Den | POSH really knows her stuff. Highly knowledgeable about fit, function, and fashion, Barb has a gift for helping each person see the best in themselves, and then draws that out. She understands the«issues» you might feel you have and is strategic in identifying solutions that make you wonder what you were worried about in the first place. This isn’t just theoretical or «woo-woo» fluff either. When Barb does«closet work» she helps you identify keepers and creepers, and helps you«shop your closet», styling new looks based on what you already have. Missing pieces and accessories? No worries! You’ll get a written list of exactly what you need, and a visual reference for best looks and lines. I could go on all day about what a gift Barb is. Don’t take my word for it — invest in discovering your very best self through Barb’s POSH services!

The salon is beautiful and located well for both on and off island use. the owner tried very hard to right the problem, but the color is not fixable by… anyone…@ any salon. Went for consultation to address my color. I have embraced my Gray so while there is much around my face the top is blah with some gray, so wondered if they could add a little«platinum, silver, white blonde, not gold, yellow» as I had had for years and waited 5 years to grow out! Was told yes could do. Thinking I had made it clear that I wanted to match the front gray, she foiled the crown, which came out golden blonde plus I suspect she didn’t think it was right when my head was in the bowl and put a «toner» on and massaged into the roots, which basically spread the color to all over scalp, Yikes! Got home & saw a marked difference between my natural face framing color, which I asked her to leave, since we were matching, right? And the new golden color. Went back thinking she could bring up some strands and darken other strands to mix it up and get the platinum in I’d asked for. No. Got red instead of my natural ash and gold. So after 5 months I am seeing roots grow out which drives me batty when I look in the mirror. Have taken to wearing my hair off the face in a clip. I will be darn near 70 before this grows out!!! Other salons say there is so much color they don’t think that is a fix, to let it grow out, which is what the owner said. Oh & yes after all this I am told they can’t produce silver/platinum/gray color. They tested to darken and lighten it again, but wait why wasn’t that done initially? So there ya go, my unfortunate experience. Will say the cut was good. A blunt cut shoulder length, nothing fancy. Just be aware something like this Can and in my case Did, happen.

I love Au Courant. Annie does my hair and she is a terrific stylist. She listens to what you’d like, gives you realistic options about how to achieve the look you are after and discusses the process with you while she is doing your hair. The staff is very personable. The décor– fabulous and spotless! My only beef– although not enough to reduce to 4 stars– is the parking.

Let me say first that if I were rating simply on how incredibly nice everyone was, it would be 5 stars. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst color jobs I’ve ever had, and I’ve been coloring my hair for many years. The stylist I was supposed to see for color and cut was out sick, so they put me with someone else. That was fine, it was my first time going there. Unfortunately, in spite of me warning the stylist that my hair pulls very red/warm, and I hate red in my hair, I paid $ 70 for all-over color on shoulder-length hair that turned copper red on all the previously-uncolored roots(about 3−4″) while the rest was brown. The ends faded within a week, in spite of using the very expensive product they sold me, but the roots just got lighter and redder. The $ 50 cut was just meh. They offered for me to come back in and fix it, but didn’t have a time within a week that was convenient for me, and then we ended up moving out of town shortly after that. I *still* have red in my roots, in spite of paying for another professional to attempt to fix it. Really disappointing, especially since I could have done a much better job with drugstore box color.

My haircut was great! I am a guy and was weary about making a big deal out of my haircut by going to some salon. But they were wonderful! The guys get haircuts in «the den» which is a nicely separated area with three seats and a couple TV’s to watch your latest sports games. Katrina cut my hair and was very friendly and told why and how she was cutting. They offer beverages and at the end they shampoo/condition your hair and wash your face for you for a great price! I highly recommend it to anyone on the Eastside.

4.5 stars It is a little hard to find, located at the bottom of a large apartment building,(around the corner form Noah’s bagels, look for the car wash across the street.). The décor is attractive, the place clean, no wierd salon smell, the products are fantastic and the staff are and friendly and attentive. Beverages are offered and there is a bowl with chocolates at the counter. I always go on a weekday and haven’t had any problem getting a time I want. I highly recommend Linda, she listens to what you are asking for, makes suggestions, asks questions and follows up to make sure she understands what you want.

Great service and open on the weekends. I have been using the same stylist(Douglas) for years. It can take some time to get in for an appointment, but they are attentive to all of their clients. Greet you immediately, offer beverages and have an excellent selection of product, unique gifts and seasonal items. Prices for cuts/color are competitive for the Eastside.

I decided I wanted to get my hair cut on a whim. Walked in to Au Courant and was scheduled a couple of hours later. The front desk person was really nice as well as my hair lady. She made sure she knew exactly what I wanted. After she was done cutting and blow drying my hair, she spent extra time making sure that every hair fell into the right place when it was dry. Very satisfied with my hair when I walked out that day. I also got a gift certificate for $ 10.00 off my next cut. Fast, friendly, great results, and a discount on my next service… what more can you ask for?
