Worst Service Ever. I never wrote a Unilocal review before, but this time i need to. Our family went to this place for several years and today was our last day. I accidentally bought 2 cream cheese not knowing we bought a whole pack at home. So, i asked them to return it, and they automatically change their face and started to take a deep breathe. She became red and showed rudeness. She talked to me as I am fighting with her now and she looked at me like I was no longer a customer.

I love their bagels but the service is absolutely atrocious. And it’s not just the MI location. Every Einstein’s I go to it takes WAYTOOLONG to get my order. I feel like UNDERCOVERBOSS needs to have an episode so they can figure out a better system cuz what they do now ain’t working. Good product, horrible delivery

Skimpy on the cream cheese. Honestly I miss Noah’s where they lathered it on. Service was fast and they seemed friendly, but I mostly care about the quality of the product. Bagel was great just needs more cream cheese.

Good bagels and cream cheese, they also have breakfast sandwiches. Great morning stop for a quick bite.

Service was a little slow, but the drip coffee was perfecto delicious and the egg, ham, and swiss asiago bagel was very yummy… however, it was too hot. I realized that it burned my mouth when I bit into it and there was a painful shock to the roof of my mouth. Driving home, I was surprised when my my tongue felt the blister that had developed on my soft palate from the SECONDDEGREEBURN that the too hot egg had left there, OUCH!!! I then saw the blister in the mirror with a flashlight when I got home. The blister has now popped, and I am now irritated enough to no longer tell myself that the yummy coffee and food make it ok that my palate was burned badly enough to blister. Seriously not ok.(being completely fair, I may go back because the coffee was seriously good, but I will never buy a cooked bagel again)

Every time we come here, I order one kind of bagel with one kind of topping and my husband orders a different bagel with a different topping. Without fail, every single time, they get them switched. Normally we just eat it but today we finally decided to have them correct it. The lady argued with us that they weren’t wrong even though it clearly showed on her screen exactly what we ordered. So we gave up and didn’t get our order fixed.

We stopped here again this year before going pumpkin hunting. We decided to try the coffee cake and this year the pumpkin muffin didn’t have cream cheese on top. Don’t bother with these. Totally disappointment. Additionally I ordered a 16oz latte and really only got about a 12 oz. It was so over sweetened and tasted burnt. My husband, who ordered the same thing got a full 16 oz, but his was barely sweet and was super burnt. Both went in the trash. :( Additionally the staff was really rude. We probably wont be back.

I’ve been going to this place for years because I live & work on MI. But after yesterday I’m done. The bagels are always fine, but the service consistently ranges from indifferent to rude. I don’t know how many owners there have been in the past few years, but none of them have cared anything about employee customer service. Yesterday what I experienced was employees griping at each other, repetition of my uncomplicated order three times, and a condescending attitude from the staff. One employee tapped on the top of the counter to indicate that I should come to her. No words, just tapping. I don’t Unilocal review often. I’ve worked in service jobs and I’m forgiving most of the time. But I have many, many visits to this place and it ALWAYS leaves me irritated and frustrated. Training employees is about more than just how to make a sandwich and run a register.

Very rude, absurdly slow, and downright incompetent service. It took over 20 minutes, from the time of order, to get a bagel sandwich to go. After 15 minutes and a dozen people who were behind me in line being served, I asked about my order and all I got back was a clueless look. When the order finally showed up, it arrived without an apology or an excuse. Beyond that, the layout of the place is terrible and the food is simply mediocre. I’m hoping this place goes out of business and is replaced by something even halfway decent.

Bagels are good but service was really slow especially on Sunday morning. Might be better to just get a bunch of bagels to go and toast and schmear at home.

Good news for those who had had bad service, there’s a new sherif in town! New manager Jennifer went above and beyond, and the whole team were welcoming and working hard! Nary an eye roll to be seen. Bagels are great, place was packed, clean and sparkly. I ordered three dozen various bagels and several schmears, my order was correct, and I even got great tips on freezing the bagels. Keep it up, Jennifer! You and your team are doing great!

The bagels are done well, with plenty of schmear and the staff is usually friendly. But this location is sometimes overwhelmed. They can be a bit slow and you’ll likely be shocked by how messy the tables, floor, and drink service area can become. Don’t count on a free cup of a reasonable size for water. .. a little extra would go a long way here on our friendly island.

The bagels are great! The service is horrific! I was in the other day for lunch and there was not one person ahead of me. I stood at the counter to order while two employees kept«working» and by «working» I mean talking about a letter that some friend sent, yadda yadda. The young blond girl or as I call her«Pissed off Blondie» has had the same pissed off and miserable look on her face every single time I’ve been in kept sweeping out the bagel case and refused to make eye contact with me. The tall«Frat Bro» could have cared less when he saw me standing there. After about 7 min of waiting an older woman came out of the back and said«has anyone taken his order» Finally! I’ve been noticed! …Not so fast… «Frat Bro» instead finished his conversation and then as if I was an inconvenience walked over while he rolled his eyes and said«what do you want»? «Pissed off Blondie» never even acknowledged I was there. After«Frat Bro» underwhelmingly took my order and finished with a «go down there» as he pointed to the register with the tone of a 14 year old that has just been told to do their chores . It was then that I realized that he had rang in my order incorrectly. The very pleasant woman at the register called down and said«hey, that order is put in wrong, he wanted a deli sandwich» and that’s when«Pissed Of Blondie» finally pulled her head out of the bagel case and screamed(with a very violent tone and look on her face) «I DIDN’T TAKEHISORDER» NOKIDDINGBLONDIE, you refused to even look at me! «Frat Bro» began slapping the sandwich together while making it very obvious that he hated everything about that job, me, my sandwich, that day, the world, life. Basically I ruined everything. I whispered a «my god whats wrong with those two» to the nice lady at the register and that’s when she informed me that there had been a big fight when she got in at 11am because she was supposed to be in earlier so now they were punishing her.(And every other poor sole that walked into that disaster of a business on that day). If you are craving a bagel just stop and as a random stranger for one. I am sure they’ll be much nicer to you! Two stars. One for the nice lady at the register and the 2nd because Unilocal likes to filter the one stars.

Two stars is generous. It should probably be one star but I’m in a good mood today. I’m not sure why but I keep giving them a chance to turn things around but end up mostly disappointed. I have been to other Einstein’s locations in other cities with virtually no problem. The customer service is lacking greatly. The staff generally feels like the could care less. I understand it’s only a bagel shop but at least basic customer service skills should be present. Orders come out wrong regularly and they act like it’s not their fault. The food is inconsistent from the degree of toasting to the amount of cream cheese you get. Too bad there’s not much competition on Mercer Island to push this place to improve.

Fast and friendly. Just got a bakers dozen of mix and match with a cup of coffee two cream cheeses all for under 20.00. Easy parking right in front. Simple. I love these bagels. Nothing special but they do have a few unique flavors. Blueberry, 6 cheese, pumpernickel. I love the standard Asiago. The grab-&-go box is great and has a nice slot for 2 cream cheeses.

I have loved Einstein from the first time I had it at the Colorado airport several years ago. There isn’t one in my city but thankfully one nearby on MI. We have been coming here regularly for weekend breakfast sandwiches and it’s always a satisfying meal. There are plenty of breakfast sandwiches to choose from and I generally get one with bacon though I tried the veggie one today. Bagels are always fresh and I like all of their smears. They also have pastries and coffee so you’ll likely find something for everyone. This location is near QFC and Mud Bay so you can run home errands before or after your meal.

Mmm bagels. I used to stop here sometimes on my way back from Hot Yoga to carb up. And many times when I had friends crashing at my apartment we would end up here in the morning too. This place was busy every time I came but we were always served promptly. Bagels and spreads are delish as should be expected. But I just can’t give above a three because they don’t have my beloved egg bagels. And the challah while nice just isn’t the same. This girl needs egg bagels(not egg bagel sandwiches). They are the best! Oh, I forgot! Their coffee was pretty good as well, and my friend really enjoyed her smoothie.
