Nardelli’s Grinder Shoppe

I love this place. It’s such amazing quality and definitely get alot of food. I love the fact of seeing what you get before it’s made. I’ll never go to subway after coming here. The only downfall is they are closed on Sundays and can be a bit pricey for a sub.

I had previously went to the Nardelli’s in Naugatuck and it was amazing I had a full size Italian combo w. pepperoni, however I was craving one today and stopped at the Meriden location I wasn’t as thrilled it was good but not as good. Maybe it was just a bad day … The service was amazing and the store was clean Im not going to write them off just as yet. I’ll be going back.

Excellent chicken and eggplant parm grinder! Somehow, I never understood how, everyone screws up eggplant. But the eggplant here is excellent! The service is friendly and professional and the music kicks ass too.

Great place with great employees. Went there for supper and was very impressed how friendly and helpful the employees were. They didn’t rush us to order, which is good because they have so much to choose from.
The food was great and everything was fresh. I had an Italian combo on Milite’s bread which was full of meat and so fresh. Also had tomato and fresh mozzarella with balsamic drizzle which was delicious. Will definitely be back.

The nardelli’s franchise has me torn– they do one sandwich really freaking good and its the italian combo on panini bread. It has the perfect combo of italian meats and the panini bread is like real italian bread. I dont even know why they have the other bread. Other than the fact that they charge you extra for the panini bread. I just paid 11 bucks for a full of this sandwich (the other half is my dinner!)
Everything else I have got from there has been disappointing. Sorry microwaved chicken is just not good… Also I’m not a fan of their «everything» mix. Made that mistake once.
Overall that one sandwich is like a 5 but everything else a 2 so i settled on a 3 since i do go regularly for the italian combo. People are also always very friendly.

Great sandwich selection! First stop in on a visit home, got the chicken cutlet with everything on it. Absolutely delicious. The ½ is definitely more than large enough for one person and prices from $ 5 – 7. Extremely friendly and courteous staff behind the counter. Quick and efficient. The bread holds up well, the chicken warm and lightly breaded, great lettuce/​cucumber/​pepper mix/​blend. Stop by if you’re in the area and craving a sandwich. Oh they also have great selection of olives, pickled products, etc.

this shop is filled with the nicest people! every time I go in I’m greeted with smiles and always get the most generous grinder that ends up being 3 meals. THE BAKES PASTRAMI IS THE JAM! the best nardelli’s in Connecticut by far!

I have to say I am really surprised to read some of these reviews. I’ve been going to the Meriden Nardellis since they opened last year and I love it! The entire experience is great. there is an insane selection of sandwiches plus lots of salads and desserts! The Italian Combo with everything is my favorite… yumm! Pair that with a cheesecake parfait and your tastebuds have never been so happy. Lol. The service has always been great, the girls are always friendly and helpful… I truely believe some of these reviews must be from a different place because, I cannot see how anyone can leave there unhappy. Keep doing what you’re doing Nardellis! I’m looking forward to going again soon… as in tomorrow.

Staff unhelpful and could not remember anything. Chicken cutlets are terrible. If plastic, chewy bacon is your thing then this is your place. Only good thing was the Cannoli burrito. Methinks I will not be back.

Staying next door for a week up photographing the Hartford Fire Dept. Stopped in for a «grinder» ordered a barbecue bacon and cheddar chicken. It may have had chicken. But I’ll be damned if there was any bacon or cheddar any where in sight. Just lots of other crap pilled on that I didn’t ask for or want. And had to pay 9 dollars and some change for a sandwich I didn’t even want or care to eat. I WILL NOT EVEN THINK OF GOING BACK!!!

Four stars for their grinders, two stars for their salads (at least the chef salad).
Nardelli’s uses a decent amount of deli meat in their grinders, the bread is always fresh and delicious, and the other standard ingredients always taste fresh. I should have stuck with the grinder. Today, I ordered a chef salad and it was just so sad looking. I’m annoyed that I didn’t take a picture just so you get a sense of what was coming if you ordered a salad from here. Everything tasted great and was fresh, but not what I was expecting for an $ 8 salad. There were three little 1 inch rolls of deli meat and cheese, half of an egg, four half cucumber slices, a few marinated mushrooms, two olives, a decent amount of cherry tomatoes, a handful of their chopped up veggie mix thrown in, and of course lettuce. I was definitely hoping for more deli meat (supposedly the main part of the salad), and overall a salad that actually filled the container. The mushrooms, olives and veggie mix were odd choices, and seemed like they were added at the end to make the salad seem more substantial. I would not recommend this place if you’re looking for a decent salad.

Food elements were delicious, BUT, as I didn’t get what I ordered, resulting in a dry sandwich, so I can’t give it more than 2-​stars. I asked my coworker to order for me the eggplant chicken with marinara and with everything else listed on the eggplant chicken on the menu item (which means, quoting from the menu: «L&T, Cheese, Classic Mix™ (diced veggies) & Hot Sauce, Olives». I got a tasty cutlet, eggplant, cheese, marinara, and NO VEGGIES AT ALL (except the eggplant).
Given the thickness of the bread, this makes the sandwich very very unbalanced, and honestly quite dry. Rosa’s Deli in Wallingford does a better marinara job, by far. So does Subway. Apparently, my coworker said to the person making the sandwich «and everything else» and she looked confused, and didn’t, apparently, ask him any clarifying questions. Therefore, nobody had the opportunity to find out if I really wanted lettuce covered in marinara (maybe not, but, I did want the veggies, olives, and hot sauce).
He does have a witness to these events, as another coworker went with him.
Re-​reading the menu, if this happens to be an issue of comma abuse /​semicolon lack /​parenthetical phrase ambiguity, you might want to grab your nearest hungry English teacher and get that worked out. The list copied from the menu offers only one option — Marinara OR Mayo, with the rest of the items presumably on both options. «Marinara Sauce OR Mayo, L&T, Cheese, Classic Mix™ (diced veggies) & Hot Sauce, Olives»
We will probably go back, as the food is tasty, but, PLEASE TRAIN YOUR STAFF. DO NOT EXPECT YOUR CUSTOMERS TO DO YOUR MANAGEMENT FOR YOU.

I discovered Nardelli’s when they opened in Middletown. Simply THE BEST. I was very happy when they opened in Meriden. I went to the Meriden location on opening night and it is consistent with the other Nardelli’s I’ve been to. The food is fresh and the variety is terrific. I have not had any grinder that I did not like. Italian Combo is the best I’ve had. Buffalo chicken is the bomb. The only thing I would like to see is having the option to have peppers and onion on a sausage grinder for those of us who don’t like or can’t eat peppers or onions. The sausage, peppers and onion are already prepared and mixed together.
I have found the staff in Meriden to be very accommodating and friendly. This is my ‘go to’ place for grinders.

Ordered an Italian combo with lettuce, tomato, raw onion, and hot peppers.
Somehow they put mayonnaise on the sandwich. I found when I arrived home.
Not sure how they could get this wrong. It was pretty easy. I’m afraid to open the turkey club I also purchased.
I threw it out. Very discouraging. Ordering a pizza now.
I called back asking for a manager. .same person who hung up on me. She said she thought I hung up! Fabrication.
I asked for a refund for the Italian sandwich and she said ok I will see if my credit card is refunded. This place is off the list
So I called them. Said I can bring it back and have another. Sorry I am not driving back. Girl said I’m sorry about that. I asked ok so that’s it?
Woman who answered the phone hung up! Very nice customer service. I know it’s a franchise so I am hoping the owner read this and corrects the problem.

Okay so about 20 minutes ago I checked into this fine establishment and got my salad and my grinder and my dessert and then I said I needed to go to the bathroom.
Now I don’t usually right about these types of things, typically I would not right about this part of my visit to this facility but dad gum they got that cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen. I’m not just talking they’re nice I’m talking they’re spectacular they’re clean their wonderful
