I really love this cute little wine bar! This place is super cute and has a very romantic feel to it. It’s definitely the perfect date spot. They serve a book full of wines and have an amazing variety of tapas. We ordered the antipasto for one, which was definitely enough for two to share, and it include a variety of Italian meats and cheeses and olives and was really very tasty. We also got the cheese and honey and the olive platter, both very good too. The service is always amazing here and even though it’s only three girls running the place they still manage to make it work and are professional and sweet and very accommodating. My only issue is that it’s very tightly packed in there if you are at a table or the bar. There’s limited space and it can get a little claustrophobic at times. Also, some of the wines of the list aren’t always available. We ordered a bottle of one we usually get and our waitress said they were sold out but she was very kind and brought us two samples of the ones that are similar so we could decide on an alternative, which was much appreciated! Other than that they are amazing and you should definitely give them a try!

They know what they are doing! My boyfriend took me here for a late night drink to wrap up a wonderful Saturday night. The staff was extremely friendly and our server, Taylor, was easily able to describe the wines within my flight($ 30, Italian with 2 whites and 2 reds) and the creative Bay Breeze-esque Pinto Colada. I think the flight was worth the price, but I do not think the specialty drinks are where they could be for their $ 16 price tag — too much ice and not enough alcohol. My boyfriend loved his peach martini but was not a fan of his specialty drink(the name escapes me). I was very pleased to see the amount of cheese that came on the cheese board and the grapes were a nice touch. The cost of the food seemed a tad high and the price per glass was more Manhattan than Long Island, but they make up for the up-pricing with their ambiance, service, and knowledge of what they are serving. My favorite part of the night was when I expressed extreme interest in on of the wine from the flight to the server, and she promptly told me about the Vine Wine Cellar(also in Merrick), handed me a coupon for the store with the maker/name of the wine on the back so I could remember what I wanted to check out. I look forward to more visits and building my own wine flight!

We were just looking for a great glass of wine and pleasant atmosphere. We got so much more. It was far from home but oh so worth the travel. Wonderful and caring wait staff; very attentive. Great wine selection and many flights… wine… whiskey. …oh and I think even martini flights… the food choices are great. Try the tepinade with pita crisps. delish!

A excellent place for an early, relaxing drink. I was looking for a nice place to enjoy a small bite to eat and a drink in Merrick. When my first choice ended up being closed(during what they said online were business hours) I stopped by THEVINEWINEBAR. I received excellent customer service and a delicious flatbread pizza. Stopping by THEVINEWINEBAR, the first thing you’ll notice is the dark but thoughtfully lit main room. From what I could gather, that main room is the only room, but I could be wrong about that. On the left is a raised lounge area with some nice sofas. On the right, dinning tables if you’d like to sit down in a more traditional fashion. Straight ahead — the bar. I was alone, so chose to sit at the bar. THEVINEWINEBAR focuses more on their wine and cocktails, so you wouldn’t come here for a large meal. There are plenty of places in Merrick for that. A small bite to eat and a cocktail were exactly what I wanted, this was perfect. My go-to drink at the moment is an Old Fashioned. Unfortunately, the bar doesn’t stock bitters so I was SOL on that. I decided not to hold it against them and ordered one of their signature cocktails — a White Peach Martini. The martini was excellent. I’m not typically a martini person and most of the«creative» martinis seem more gimmicky to me than actual creative cocktails. I’m happy I was wrong this time. The White Peach Martini was not too fruity and had a balanced taste. For food, I ordered their 3-cheese flatbread pizza. Although I came in for a small bite to eat, I was concerned this flatbread pizza would be smaller anticipated. I’m happy to say that it was just the right size. You get 4 triangle-shaped pieces and they were phenomenal. Previous flatbread pizzas, in other restaurants, had been rather disappointing, but this was great. With a good cocktail and a perfect appetizer, I got the chance to talk with my bartender/server. It was early and I was one of only three parties in the establishment. Michelle was excellent and professional. She showed all of us a fair amount of attention and made sure to keep me informed on the progress of my food. Hardly any establishment is perfect so here are just the few things to take note: This is not a cheap place, this is a small place, they do have some gimmicky event nights. THEVINEWINEBAR certainly falls into the category of having«city» prices. The food and drinks are delicious, but if you’re looking for a bargain bar — this ain’t it. The place is tiny. I can’t imagine it holding more than 50 people without drinks spilling from congestion. I went early and that’s what I would recommend you do. I anticipate that when it get later and busier, it might get frustrating and ruin an otherwise pleasant experience. Michelle informed me that things pick up around 7:30 — 8:30. You’ll also notice that they have some of those gimmicky event nights that some places do to drive up patronage. Art and Wine Night? Ok. Fortune Telling Night? What!!! There are also nights when bands will come in and play. Typically this is a major plus for me; I love live lounge music. Sadly, from what I understand, the music played is light rock. What’s more confusing is that there is no real room for a band. Bands take up that sofa area on the left, which essentially kills 1⁄3 of the space. You should def try THEVINEWINEBAR if you’re interested in good wine, beer/whiskey flights, and/or a casual night out. I think the best use of your time would be to go early before your main evening plans. I’ll will definitely be back.

One would never know this place existed in Merrick! Let me tell you, it’s definitely worth a visit(or more). I went here with my friends(4 of us) on a Thursday night. Our server knew a lot about wines and was extremely nice and didn’t mind us sitting forever talking! Prices were about average…$ 12.00 for a glass of Sov. Blanc. The one thing I would say that was a bit of a disappointment was their lack of food options. For those that are not cheese lovers there’s really not much to eat along with your wine. Perfect date night spot… romantic, intimate, relaxing!

Just had my 40th birthday party here. Lynn and her staff were accommodating and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. My guests had a fabulous time. Would highly recommend for a private party or date night.

I really like this place and its atmosphere, and it would be our weekly spot if they had better/more food options! I love the cheese options but when we are more hungry there really isn’t anything to write home about. They have some pizzas but it’s not enough.

Cozy place with great flights. Stick to what they know. Ordered a margarita – terrible. Very good food and cheese platter. Owner and staff very pleasant. Only down fall if they open at 5 but the doors also open at 5. They set up in front of customers and ignore you until 530. Plus as a customer we don’t need to see the staff set up. They should get there at 4 and open the doors at 445. The owner has experience— she should know better. So don’t go early. Other than that it’s a neat spot.

I liked this wine bar. Besides a large assortment of wines to choose from, the staff was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The wines are usually why people go to wine bars(adaaaa) but if you can supply a diverse menu than that absolutely enhances the experience. Nice ambiance, nice service, good food makes for a wonderful vino experience. PS. There are several ways to purchase, assorted tastings of several wines or by the glass.

This place is a 5 star for me for ambiance, food, service and«vine»! Our bartender was extremely knowledgable of the wines and even let us taste two different ones to help us choose a bottle. She engaged us in conversation and poured our drinks for is at the bar. It was a quiet and rainy Monday night but they have a back room for drinks or private tastings. It’s a very romantic place with a great menu. They have tables but also couch seating for a more relaxed seat. I love fondue and very few places offer it. They have a full menu but I love the dips and dessert. They stay open late if there’s enough people there and stayed open just past 11 when I was there. Great place for a date but great for girls nights too! It’s definitely going to be a regular spot!

This place is a perfect local wine bar with pretty decent food/dessert. I wish this place had additional seating though. Tough to get a seat on a weekend night. The meatballs were delicious!

Great place for a date. The staff is courteous, allowing you to taste the wine before filling you up a glass. Great flatbreads and antipasta. I would definitely return here.

Our favorite girls night spot. The wine selection is stellar. We usually get cheese and meat. It is a little pricey but they don’t rush you out and it’s well worth the atmosphere.

Wine good… food not so much! The wife and I finally got a night out alone and chose to try one of Merrick’s two newer Tapas type places. We went on the early side and the place was empty as were our stomachs when we left. Had a glass of wine which was enjoyable. Ordered a second glass of something different on the menu and sadly they were out of it. We had the goat cheese pizza which was decent. For food the wife ordered the veggie burger… it was inedible. I ordered their version of a slider, JJ’s mini burger… it was maxi-disgusting. The thinnest and driest burger patties I have had since Merrick Ave. Junior High School! You know, those burgers that you had to kill with ketchup just to get ‘em down. I will give it a second chance when the weather warms up.

I am writing this review based on one experience. I came here to have a girl’s night with a few friends of mine. The décor was appropriate for the type of place it was although the place it’self was on the small side. The lighting and style was romantic and sophisticated. The waiter was pretty knowledgable and accomadating. The was just OK, nothing stood out as amazing and in that regard, it did some a little bit overpriced although the wine we got was pretty good. I also thought it closed slighlty early for the type of place that it is. Also I remember we had to sit in chairs that were high up and they were not comfortable, so although we were in a relaxing are, we weren’t really sitting in a relaxing way, this scould improve uppn this. I would recommend this place because if’s something different in the area to do.

I love this place! I stumbled upon it driving 2-years ago. I went there one night and had a wine flight. That night changed my life!!! It’s called… NEWAGE!!! Omg! This is the reason I love this place! Can’t find this wine anywhere! They offer Johnny walker flights and martini flights too which were very good!!! The food is pretty good. Little appetizers, cheese, crackers, meats, flatbreads. Nothing great; nothing bad. The place has a nice dim lighting modern feel. PERFECTFOR A FIRSTDATE!

Cool place for an intimate date if you’re 21+. The food is simple and good. My girlfriend and I had one of the paninis. The sangria doesn’t come with fruit but it was good nonetheless… I drank most of the pitcher we got actually. You can get about 6 glasses out of a pitcher. Definitely will be returning.

Soo not a fan of this place. The venue is so tiny that it’s awkward to have a convo because you know everyone in the place can hear you. The good thing is that they have a decent wine list. If you’re hungry, don’t expect to leave here full. We got a cheese platter to go with our wine, and the bf had a grilled cheese sandwich, which he hated. The cheese was ok, but there wasn’t much else on the menu that looked appealing. I spent over $ 100 here and left still hungry.

This is a really great place on Long Island to go for a nice glass of wine in a nice atmosphere! The service was great & everyone worked as team players. The server Ashley was very knowledgeable about the various wines offered & I chose The Bitch, a wonderful red wine from Spain. It was $ 14 a glass, but worth every penny. When you go out for a glass(or bottle) of wine, you know that you’re going to be paying for not only the wine but the experience as well. I’ll definitely be back. It’s a great place for a date or friends getting together to catch up!
