Some dishes are decent, some not so much. If I ever go back, I will avoid anything with seafood in it next time.

Upon further review I am sad to say that that I agree with all the one star reviews. The chef is very passionate however he needs to listen to the reviews and take action. The bread crumbs on the field harm are usually brought out burnt in way too heavy the meat is lost, the flavor is lost. As for the dipping oil I agree it taste funny however I think it contains anchovies. As for the funny tasting water yes that’s a natural water untreated unfortunately he would choose to serve it. I can only assume that when something doesn’t come out quite right he knows it but serves it anyway thus bringing on his own negative reviews found here. We are going out with friends this weekend and after reading the current reviews and our own memories we have decided not to come here again and go to another well-known Italian restaurant in Nashua.

It was OK. Would I go again. I don’t think so. No ambiance, room was very hot, not comfortable. Drinks were good but not a generous one for the money. The chef came out and talked to us about our meal to see if we enjoyed it. He seems to take pride in his culinary expertise. Liked the meal, didn’t like the bread and the water tasted bad. I don’t think I’m that picky but it just didn’t set well with me.

It wasn’t awful as some people have said, but we have been multiple times and have never had a wonderful experience. The food was alright, but not great. And the service was pretty poor. Overall, a sub par experience.

Why oh why didn’t I read this first. It was SO expensive. The only thing halfway good was the salad. Forget trying to send anything back.

Don’t waste your time or money. Food was the worst I have ever had. Even the water tasted terrible.

I only chose this place because i had a gift certificate. I was very excited to try it, the setup inside was very well decorated. Our waitress was new to this place but she was the ONE and only good thing about our visit. First of my bf got a corona that came out piss warm. We ordered garlic bread with cheese, it came out burnt. who would serve that to their guests? I was so turned off by the bread two of the slices were completely died pink and the other two were white, I have no idea why. I ordered lasagna and my bf got the chicken parmesan. The lasagna I am not even kidding it had about two teaspoons full of meat and about a teaspoon full of ricotta, it was ALL noodles. it was burnt on the top and the«chef» tried to cover it up by drowning it in sauce. The chicken parm that my bf got was absolutely horrendous, the chicken was soaked with oil not one bit of it was crunchy the chicken was like rubber. The waitress was more than willing to get us something else, my bf didn’t want anything, i ordered the ravioli hoping it was better than the lasagna. Nope, once again no filling at all. i mean thats the best part of ravioli is the filling! I ordered a drink because i had to spend $ 50 for the gift certificate. i kid you not, i had to wait at least 10 minutes for a drink. There was two waitress’s, one that also made the drinks. once i got the drink EVEN that was disgusting. I honestly felt bad for our waitress(not the bartender one) she was so nice and very understanding. We left there and about 5 minutes later my bf puked up his chicken parm, We both agreed that this is absolutely the worst place we have ever eaten at before. Please do not go here, im telling you its horrible. They didn’t even take my cocktail or anything off the bill. We will never be back again. I rather eat at mcdonalds.

We first ordered Carpaccio Di Manzo ~ Classic Italian beef carpaccio with arugula, hearts of palm and avocados in a truffle dressing. The spinach was rotten at least 10 pieces, The beef was cold tasted like it just came out of a freezer and it had a bad after taste. The waitress even admitted the spinach was bad and did nothing for compensation. We had to ask for a glass of water from 3 different people until it came. Then we ordered some bread. This bread was burnt and didn’t come with any oil or butter.

If I could give ZERO reviews, I would. When I can make ‘MANGIAMANGIA’ Italian food at home… Meh. One big MEH. I chose to give you the benefit of the doubt, and come in to try your restaurant out– EVENTHOUGH I am a Unilocaler, a professional foodie(I write for several columns, both online and in print…), and have learned from several past experiences attending your restaurant… I refrained from writing a review, and then… The breaking point was when your extremely rude and condescending«close friend» comes into my «PARTTIMEFUNJOB», and berates me for giving a negative opinion–(OPINION, MYFRIENDS.!), because your business is in my hometown– and you FAILMISERABLY… Doesn’t everyone have a good conversation about the local food– what is good, what is not, pros and cons of said location??? Your friend should have her foot in her mouth right now, and learn when to judge and not judge, when to speak and not speak… You just NEVERKNOW who certain people are!!!- Way to make yourself and your«close friends» look more like benign asses in Our Town… I find it enthrallingly pathetic that someone would come into a place that I work–(PARTTIME, FORFUNANDTOKEEPBUSY, mind you!!!), and threaten me with a good time. I do not work at this job for a living– HA! Well. You folks see where I’m going with this. Sauce was acidic and watery– with a slick of grease. Meatballs– wow. Something so simplistic, yet so wrong, yet the first thing I try when having to «eat Italian»… Not robust in flavor, more like a reheated meatloaf ball… If I could open a Cucina in my home, I could outdo these folks in a heartbeat! Service? Please… If Pizzico has irritated you in the past, with their snotty, spacey, and bourgeoisie service– please don’t come to Luna Caprese!!!

I’m an idiot because I went there despite the reviews. I went because I had a great coupon. As it turns out if the coupon was 110% off it wouldn’t have been worth it As to service just one waitress and a hostess girl trying to help her. The only thing harder to get than the bread was the check at the end! We ordered bruschetta as an appetizer which was awesome– assuming that you like your bruschetta burnt! My wife got some kind of seafood entrée that was so salty she will not need to be embalmed when she dies. I ordered an exotic Italian dish called Chicken Parmesan. Apparently they forgot the Parmesan. There was a thick coating of bread crumbs that was just a great pile of greasy mush. The chicken was too thick and chewy. This was on top of angel hair pasta that I got up charged a buck for. In a miracle of science the chicken was red hot and the sixteenth of an ounce of pasta it was sitting on was cold! Did I mention that they serve water in plastic Pepsi glasses,(very classy.) oh yeah– the coffee comes in a cup that’s about the size of a shot glass. All in all it would be an excellent meal to serve to a death row inmate– he would sprint to the electric chair! Your mileage may vary.

My neighbors called us and asked us to join them. We said yes and then checked Unilocal… after reading the low ratings we wanted to cancel. But then thought we would form our own opinion… Six of us in a pretty empty place on a Sat. Night. Drinks were great and the waitress was too ! The food was just average at best. out of six of us — two liked the meal… enough said. I feel bad to give a bad review because they were so nice but really they should be wondering why they are not packed on Sat. Evening. We won’t go back. just not worth the prices.

Visited recently and found a well meaning chef and server. However, the drink and service were the best parts of the evening. The dishes utilized canned/premade ingredients(from the appearance/taste/texture) and were very overpriced. The bread was cool and dyed different colors(a la the Italian flag), which was not appealing. The bar downstairs looked more enjoyable… if there had been any patrons.

Awful, awful, awful. Food was ok at best! People were friendly but there were not enough of them! That’s about all the good I have to say. Now for the rest… Right off the bat we had to wait 8 minutes before someone even acknowledged we had been waiting to be seated. When we were seated in a nearly empty restaurant,(3 other couples were seated in the entire restaurant) the four of us were seated in a very tight corner at a small table. We could have been seated anywhere! The restaurant was nearly empty. To keep this short, the order was not right when received, no apology and then charged the higher amount for their screw up! Lastly we had a Groupon gift certificate we were given as a gift. They had taken about 15 minutes to process it and the waiter/cashier/host seemed very frustrated and irritated and no longer had his friendly attitude but instead was a bit hostile and unfriendly in taking his frustrations out on us. We were also now in a rush to get to a show in Manchester which we ended up being late for because if this ordeal. Lastly he did not give us the coupon rate off of my and my wife’s meal, which we had the gift certificate for, but instead off of the other couple we were with. Total screw up! Highly NOT recommended.

As other reviewers, I really wanted to like this place. The owner is apparently straight from Italy, figured I couldn’t go wrong with trying this place. The wait staff was extremely friendly from the beginning to end. No issues there whatsoever. The food was not that great unfortunately. The bread and oil were average. The $ 4.90 salad was awful. The lettuce was room temp and very lifeless and wilty. The homemade balsamic vinaigrette was strangely sweet, almost like the sugary sweetness overpowered the salad itself — I did not finish my salad. I ordered eggplant parm and it was rubbery, somewhat chewy with too much breading. The homemade linguini was so-so, and the tomato sauce was just okay — I did not finish these items. Dessert was some sort of little donuts with chocolate sauce and powdered sugar. The waitress said the owner made them that day, however, they tasted stale and were cold and hard — did not finish. It saddens me to write this review because I can tell that the waitstaff and owner have a passion for their restaurant and will go above and beyond to please their customers. With that in mind, it’s hard to believe they themselves would eat what I was served tonight and think it was all delicious. With every course I had, I tried to like it but was disappointed throughout the entire meal.

Wow, these negative reviews. Maybe it was because they had just opened and it took a while to get their footing. Usually my experiences at restaurants are on par with Unilocal reviews, but this time it was totally not the case. Because I had a great time. Super friendly staff, great food. The chef even came out just to chat. He got a kick out of the fact that my husband’s boss is from Italy as well. I love Italian food, and this place honestly reminded me of a few restaurants I had the pleasure of going to while in Rome. Honestly no complaints.

We had a coupon for this place and it turned out to be very close to where we live, so we were hoping to have a new regular Italian eatery. The atmosphere and décor were all terrific and the menu was surprisingly replete. They even had canneloni, which I don’t find very often in New England. The wait staff was polite and knowledgeable, and everything seemed to be pointing to a great evening. But once the food began to come, things went sideways. The olive oil for the bread tasted funny and the food was soggy. I can’t describe it better than that. The beef had a consistency one step up above mush, boiled as a cooking option perhaps and taken directly from the pot, stuffed into noodles, and boiled again. I can’t quite say. I know when I’m older and unable to chew solid foods, this place will be my first choice. Once the food was all done, they brought the bill and it had combined ours and another table. They were unable to fix it, though, so they had to hand write our bill, which seemed very awkward. Then the manager and the waitress kept trying to get us to fill out a comment card with each of their names on it. I don’t know if they got a bonus for that or something, but it only made the end of the night more awkward. We had high hopes for this one, but we will not be returning.

Was looking forward to trying the restaurant and I was not disappointed. Will definitely be back. The service was friendly/responsive, and the food was excellent! My wife ordered the sea bass, I had chicken valdostana, and my niece had lasagna. I also had a glass of chardonnay and my wife had a cosmo. The wine and the drink were very good. Prior to dinner, we received some bread and garlic/herb oil. The bread was very good(a previous reviewer states it was like stale wonder bread but ours was good) and we really enjoyed the oil. A word about this restaurant. This is not a big production chain restaurant and it doesn’t run like a well oiled machine. It’s a small(family owned?) establishment which, for us, was part of its charm. The chef/owner is Italian and is very happy to discuss your meal with you. In our case, the server asked if my wife would prefer her fish whole or filleted. When she had additional questions, the chef visited us at our table to explain the options and even brought the fish with him to enhance the explanation. She chose to have the fish prepared whole and it was delicious. He also explained that the traditional Italian approach to cooking is to sauté — very few items are deep fried on the menu. Your chicken, veal, etc. is not likely to be breaded and fried. My chicken was very tender and flavorful. The side potatoes were crispy and tasty as well, and the vegetables were sauteed in oil and garlic and were still a little crispy — just perfect. I love dining at Lui-Lui’s in Nashua or Giorgio’s in Merrimack. My experience was just as good but very different. I encourage you to try Luna Caprese if the experience described here is what you’re looking for. …and whether you like or dislike your food, ask for a conversation with the chef/owner.

I was really really(really) looking forward to this place. hoping it would be at least decent quality italian food. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Before I start this, let me say our server was awesome, Karen is the best and, if it wasn’t for her, we would have left sooner. The GF ordered a specialty drink which was supposed to be some cucumber infused drink thingy. It ended up being an entire glass of sour mix… which is odd because it’s not supposed to have any sour mix. Disgusting, sent it back and ordered something different. The appetizer was supposed to be polenta topped with prosciutto and cheese. It was a cold pile of corn meal with cheese that, at one point, probably was melted but now had chilled and hardened into a piece of plastic. It came with a dipping sauce, otherwise known as a V8 juice with a few chunks of tomato in it. Not good. Then the bread and dipping oil. Hard to mess up but the bread tasted and looked like Wonder Bread. Slightly stale, slightly toasted Wonder Bread. The dipping oil wasn’t too bad although Liu Liu’s is much better. And here we go… the meals. Oh my God… literally the worst looking and tasting meals I have EVER had out in my entire life. We thought we were being punked they were so bad but then I realize that show hasn’t been on TV for like a decade or so and, ultimately, that I am not famous. My dish was supposed to be Penne sauteed chicken, olive oil, some red sauce and broccoli. What it actually was was way undercooked luke warm pasta(I’m in to al dente but this was crunchy), drowning in flavorless olive oil, 4 tiny pieces of chicken and burnt broccoli. It was disgusting. They also forgot the red sauce(same V8 with chunks of tomato) and brought it over in a cup later. There is no way it is humanly possible that a chef really made my dish, it just cannot be. I am not picky at all but this pile of cold oily mess was inedible. My girlfriend got another pasta dish(oh and the pasta is supposedly made fresh in the back…) and it was supposed to be made with diced prosciutto, mushrooms and some other stuff. It also came over barely room temperature with a HUGE clump of stuck together pasta… again, there is no way a chef would let this leave their kitchen. This messy pile of, equally flavorless clumpy pasta was just horrid. I cannot describe how bad they were… it was almost like the person cooking it had not only never cooked before but also possibly has never eaten food before and did not know how it was supposed to taste. We sent both meals back, paid for the app and drink(the 2nd drink, not the messed up first one) and left the waitress a large tip for having to deal with this nightmare. Do yourself a favor and wait for this place to go out of business and go to whatever restaurant goes in there next. If you’re starving and in the area but need Italian food, go to Shaws, buy some sauce and pasta… cook it at home, it will be 100 times better than this.

Luna Caprese Italian Ristorante is now open for business inside the former Amigos Mexican Cantina and Ya Mamma’s before. I’ve been driving by this location each week and have been very much anticipating dining at this new Italian restaurant. I stopped in here for dinner just before 6PM on this quiet evening. I was greeted at the hostess station/takeout counter as I walked in and seated in the upstairs dining room immediately. The place had only been open for business for less than 2 hours. The restaurant has a lounge downstairs and the casual dining room upstairs which has booth and table seating. The staff was just getting acclimated to the menu and serving the dining room. Onto the food! The menu offerings are quite extensive such as appetizers, soups, salads, homemade fresh pasta dishes, beef, chicken, veal, seafood, sides, and a few desserts(no set menu). Many of the menu items/dishes offered here have Italian names including Gamberi Puttanesca, Polenta Antonio(named after the chef), Bistecca Ai Diti Steak Tip Salad, Brasciole Napoli, Salmone Alla Fiorentina, Scallopine Villa Deste, Risotto Con Aragosta, Ravioli Teresa, Lasagna Regina, and many more Italian dishes. The wine list is extensive too. The prices are moderate, most dinners priced $ 10.50-$ 22.95 range, with a few dishes priced higher. My waiter promptly arrived to my table to take my drink order and brought out a basket of with two pieces hot chewy bread with olive oil and Italian herbs for dipping the bread. A second bread basket was brought over after I finished the first basket, but the new basket had slices of cold soft crusty Italian bread. It took me a few moments to go over the menu. For starters, the Mozzarella All Bacio($ 6.50), layers of mozzarella, eggplant, zucchini, and fresh basil, breaded and fried, and served over fresh mixed greens and tomato sauce for dipping. The bacio was interesting, which had crispy greasy breading on the outside, almost like having three appetizers: fried mozzarella, fried eggplant, & fried zucchini, combined into one appetizer. The Small House Salad($ 1.95), romaine, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, black olives, and house dressing(sweet balsamic vinaigrette & olive oil) was fresh and good. For dinner, I ordered the Linguine with Crab«Fra Diavolo»($ 14.95) –homemade linguine, slowly braised ragu of crab, fresh tomato, roasted garlic, white wine, hot chili, basil, parsley, extra virgin olive oil, & lightly spiced. This dish was not spicy at all as I would expect for fra diavolo, but nonetheless, this dish was enjoyable since I could taste the flavors of the dense and rich crab meat ragu, roasted garlic cloves, white wine, on top of soft linguine. The portion was a good sized one, not too small nor too large. I passed on the offer for dessert and coffee. They did have tiramisu. The food check came out to $ 25.50 with tax and before tip. The service was good and attentive as the waiter checked up on me often. I was offered more bread, fresh ground black pepper on the salad, fresh grated parmesan cheese on the pasta, and the ice water was topped off. The food took some time to arrive, but everything here is made fresh to order. Overall, this Italian dinner was pretty good on the first night of business for Luna Caprese. I plan to return here for dinner again, next time with my dining buddy, who enjoys a nice glass of red wine with his Italian meal. RATING: 3.65÷5.00STARS WEBSITE:
