Spartan Pizza

Been driving by for a while and finally decided to drop in. Glad we did. The whole family loved the pizza we ordered. Looking forward to trying wings and other sides next time. Very relaxed atmosphere.

One of my favorite places to order from. They’re fast and good. My favorite meals are chicken kabob wrap, buffalo finger wrap, or pizza. My kids love it too.

Subs and fried food are good — pizza is bad. Haddock sub is to die for!

Ordered here Monday night and let me tell you I get the pizza a lot, but this past Monday the pepperoni pizza was perfectly topped with pepperoni and cheese and cooked until perfectly crisp! Can’t wait to order next Monday!

I had a large cheese steak sub and a small fries. Both were too large to eat at one setting, got 2 meals from it. Large portions and good prices.

The Zeus pizza is fantastic.. staff is courteous. .portions on the seafood dinners were small.

Great subs! Stopped at Spartan Pizza on a trip up to NH — was right off the highway and easy to get to! Ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and Italian. Chicken was nice and crispy and the Italian was also delicious — lots of meat and great rolls! Will definitely stop again!

A little scared to try it since the Pizza Man was so bad. Ordered delivery when they first opened. Was ok. Not fantastic. But not bad either. Decided tonight to stop and eat there. Went with subs since a few reviews said the pizza was bland. Kids menu was not very extensive (3 year old wanted Mac and cheese and chocolate milk, neither of those were an option). My sub was ok. Nothing special. The kids chicken tenders were surprisingly good. There are a few pizza /​sub places in town. Nothing I’ve tried here stands out. Good or bad. Worth a try. Other reviews say try the fish and chips. But I’m not a seafood fan.

We’ve ordered from Spartan on quite a few occasions, primarily pizza. I love the sauce as it has a sweetness to it. Not a giant fan of the crust as it almost seems pre-​manufactured.
The last time we ordered from them my kids got the fish and chips. I typically would not order fish and chips from a pizza place, but I was pleasantly surprised. The piece of fish was huge! And it wasn’t deep-​fried and greasy. It had a type of breading on it which was perfect. All-​around nice piece of fish, quite frankly, beyond my expectation. The coleslaw was delicious!

Excellent pizza… always fresh, hot, and delicious. This is my favorite pizza, which is saying a lot because I’m pretty picky with my pizza. The sauce to cheese ratio is spot on… and not sure what they put in the pizza sauce but my friends and I now call it «crack» pizza because it’s so darn good!

When I want pizza this is the only place I go; I always order the Zeus.

So far so good with Spartan Pizza. We had been a little afraid to try them out after they had been Pizza Man because Pizza Man was highly inconsistent and often had either an A Team or B Team working. So far Spartan Pizza doesn’t seem to suffer from that problem.
I’ve tried their Chicken Kabob Salad and their Grilled Chicken Salad and find them both to be fresh and tasty. The Chicken is seasoned well, and the Cucumbers are typically cut at an angle and seem huge.
I recently tried their Garlic Bread and I was a little disappointed by it. I prefer Garlic Bread that has a good buttery flavor, and this just tasted greasy. If I had to guess they used olive oil on the bread, but either way it just wasn’t for me.
My husband recently had their Ziti with Chicken, Broccoli and Alfredo Sauce and it tasted great. The portion was huge and he certainly had enough left over for lunch the next day.
Overall a good place for a quick bite to eat.

I am so glad Spartan Pizza took over the old Pizza Man. It’s a pleasure to order from Spartan and know your not going to get sick from salmonella or worse die from it. The subs are the best and they are full of meat. I don’t know where they get their rolls from, but they are comparable to the best Italian bakery in Boston. The seafood is as good as Lobster Boat without the high price. I haven’t tried the pizza yet. I always get delivery and within 10 – 15 minutes I have a knock at the door. It might be because I live down behind them not sure, but they are fast. If you ordered something hot it is delivered steaming hot like it just came off the grill or out of the oven. Cold food ordered is always cold not warm like some delivery places. The best thing about Spartan besides the food is the consistency. You would think by now they would be like other places and get skimpy with the food, but they haven’t. Keep up the good work Spartan!

Absolutely some of the best fried chicken anywhere ! Clean well run place ! They are great !

This was my first time going there since Pizzaman closed. The Greek Salad with chicken was awesome and the house dressing is delicious. I also tried the buffalo wings… the were really, really good but the blue cheese was so-​so (can’t entirely fault them for that).
In terms of the actual restaurant, what a difference, the place looks great inside. This is exactly the kind of restaurant that Merrimack needed. The owner was manning the register and is extremely personable.
Bottom line, this place is definitely worth trying.

The facility itself has been upgraded so it is a lot nicer than it used to be. Skip the pizza. It is flavorless and the crust is like cardboard. The cheese is never browned and tastes like cheap cheese.
The subs are good though. Gyro is excellent. I will definitely go back, but never for the pizza. I haven’t tried the dinners yet but I can say, when they bring fish and chips out to someone, it smells awesome! And I can over hear people saying it is good. Next time!

Gross. That’s all I can say. Tried both pizza & subs. Won’t go back.

Was skeptical about trying Spartan as it was in the gross Pizza Man building. The building itself is not gross, but Pizza Man was. But, I am all for trying new things, and after about 5 meals from there I can now say, without a doubt, Spartan is excellent. I LOVE their marinated grilled chicken dinner which comes with homemade rice mixed with a few green peppers and onions, a roll with butter, and a small side salad. I also love their marinated steak tip dinner which comes with the same. I only had one small issue where I had delivery and they sent me either terriyaki or BBQ chicken when I just wanted the regular marinated, but it was still good. We finally decided to try their pizza tonight, and it is a puffy crust with a good amount of cheese and yummy sauce. My 2 kids finished off a small on their own. We have had delivery where they ALWAYS arrive earlier than the estimated time they give, and I have picked up from them twice. They are very friendly, and I met the owner the other night and let him know how pleased I was. I love supporting small, local, businesses, and this will now be a frequent dinner spot for nights I don’t feel like cooking. Keep up the good work Spartan!

This is the former Pizza Man. The new place has made some renovations and modifications and improved the menu. We went here opening night (at least I think it was as we had been watching closely for it to open) and it was pretty busy. There are all new tables, booths, and carpeting. They layout is the same but much cleaner and they added a flat screen TV. We ordered a large spinach and feta pizza. It was around $ 15 which was reasonable. We took it to go but waited there for it. It was ready in about 15 minutes which again was reasonable. When we got it home it was loaded and hot! And at this place a large is actually a large, unlike some other places that have downsized their larges to mediums. It had a ton a flavor and we were very pleased. The menu claims that the pizza dough is hand made daily. The dough was good but my girlfriend was not convinced it was hand made. We went here again a week later and got the same pizza and a grilled cheese (genius idea at a pizza joint for picky kids). The pizza again was very good. The grilled cheese was good and came with fries however the fries were a little soggy. As for the staff they were VERY friendly. I can already tell we will be ordering from here quite a bit, especially since it’s right around the corner :-) Also we received coupons in the mail today see keep your eyes out!
