Brought some visiting relatives here for a quick bite to eat on our way back to the mainland from Cocoa Beach. They were thrilled with the hearty portions of hot, fresh chips, salsa and their meals. I ordered the beef taco and it was really delicious. My mother loved her taco salad too. The staff was super friendly and helpful too. My brother, a self-proclaimed lover of super hot sauces, swooned over all the different hot sauces at the bar. We were still raving about the food and service the next day. Thank you TJ Flats for the fantastic food and great service, keep up the good work!

Well I had to update my review as it is always excellent we go every Tuesday night tonight we got take and our salsa that we ordered was old and not very good. I hate to give this place 2 stars as I love it however after driving home and craving chips and the usually great salsa I was disappointed… sorry TJ Flats but extremely disappointed

Walked into a disgusting smell of nasty kitchen floors which may have been moped with a 10-yr-old mop… hopefully it was just the floors we smelled. Several other customers complained while we were there so it wasn’t just us. Food was bland, quest and chips were only decent part. Overall Yuck!

The staff are probably the best thing this place has going for it. That and the hot sauce bar of course. Otherwise, you do not get what you pay for. The portions are pretty pathetic. I always get a mahi mahi burrito(not on the menu) with rice and beans and they will just cover a small surface area of the plate with rice as well as beans. The skimp on the mahi mahi as well. I tried notifying the corporate office via email but never heard anything back.

I’ve been eating steak tostadas with sweet chili sauce from this chain for the last ten years. This particular location has been on my radar for about half that time. I’m disappointed that the amount of salsa and sour cream included with my meal has decreased. Also, black olives were once a standard topping option but not anymore. I did mention on my most recent visit that there was an unpleasant smell upon entering. The staff informed me that it is being addressed. But unfortunately they could not smell it themselves to determine the source. Despite this recent problem, this location continues to shine. The food continues to be delicious and the hot sauce bar has not lost its novelty. The décor is fun and the photographs never fail to lose my interest. I do however, miss the booths. Only tables now. Truly, this deserves about a 3 right now but I’m sure that the smell issue will be quickly resolved.

Pretty good food, friendly staff and big portions. A great section of sauces to use. A little over priced and had a funny smell inside the building. Would eat here again but only if it was on my way to somewhere.

I was on Unilocal looking for someplace nearby to eat, which then turned into let’s do Mexican. I’ve never eaten at any Ti Juana Flats before so decided to give this place a try. We walked out within a minute, because inside it smelled like shit… literally! Sorry, but… JBH!(JustBeingHonest)

Always look forward to coming here when I’m in town. Although when I went yesterday I asked for 2 regular tacos(just meat, cheese, and lettuce) they bring them out and they have sour cream, tomatoes, and jalapeños on them. I tell the lady who has been working there for awhile that they were supposed to have nothing on them, just regular tacos. She said she was sorry and for us just to keep the tacos that had everything on them. She brought back 2 tacos with just meat and cheese with no lettuce. So I went back to ask her for a side of lettuce and she gave me this look and then smiled and said so you do want lettuce. I was like yes I just want regular tacos. I was pretty annoyed that she gave me this little passive aggressive attitude when I specifically said what I want on them to begin with. Also like to say to ease up with the salt on the chips geez. Either way I still think they have the best tacos.

We love going to Tijuana Flats! Great service, good food, and lots of different sauces for your meal. The kids really enjoy coming here and they even come to your table to refill drinks.

Food is OK but it’s a take atmosphere with dit down prices. The kids behind the counter do the same work as Taco Bell and have the audacity to put out a tip jar.

Came here after our cruise ported before heading home. Our cashier was extremely helpful, made excellent recommendations… When my husband ordered something he didn’t want they changed it right away no issues. Sauce choices are excellent the Georgia peach one is delicious. Clean, servers nice, prompt with refills. Everything was delicious come with an appetite, flautas eas a table favorite

I went here today for the first time with my two best gals. We were offered a free appetizer since it was our first time in the restaurant, chips with a selection of salsa, queso, and guacamole. The salsa was my least favorite of the three. I ordered my Flautas and was surprised with the big portion set on my table. The steak and cheese Flautas were incredibly delicious and I really enjoyed the sour cream, avocado, and queso dips. I did start to grow pretty full by my 3rd or 4th but after I finished everything I felt satisfied. It’s a shame that they don’t have a wider selection of meals. Definitely recommend for a nice dinner with friends!

I think management/ownership has changed here, used to be passable for a Tijuana Flats(nothing beats the original off of Goldenrod). Ordered a steak chimi and I think they dropped the whole can of salt in it, wife had steak tacos, obviously with similar salt result. Luckily our daughters chicken nuggets were tasty. Ordered side of chips and salsa, they used to keep it filled, but I was told there would be an additional charge for more salsa, thought that was tacky considering we ordered about $ 35 in food at a «fast casual» restaurant. The girl taking our order wasn’t very pleasant either, quite snippy when I told her no black olives. Overall a very underwhelming Tijuana Flats experience.

Super yoga session at Pro-Health without power was a challenge & left us hungry! Great to have TF so close — yum. But this is all about Millie. What a fabulous employee, knowledgeable and personable! She followed leads with wonderful suggestions and great care. She worked her way through the computer program to insure the onions on my order was to HER satisfaction to be certain I would have the best meal possible! She is charming, calm & efficient while being engaging and informative. I hope you have the chance to work with Millie to execute the most personalized custom order ever! Hang onto that one TF! P. S. We enjoyed the«fake I.D. collection» sign behind the counter

I don’t know why I keep coming here… oh yes I do there are not many choices in this small town. Every time I go here I feel pressured to order quickly from the«young, too cool, super young staff». I continue to order bland super boring foods. I’ve now tried tacos, enchiladas, and burritos. They all seem to taste the same. The salsa bar is super cool but then again it’s just a gimmicky compensation for the very under seasoned food. I would like to say I won’t be returning but unfortunately the very limited options in this small town may lean to the contrary.

No way this store got so many stars! I ordered 3 tacos. They all had a drizzle of meat juice along the bottom. No meat. Just juice drizzle so don’t expect a normal taco. My daughter had a burrito of some sort. She threw up later that night after complaining in the car on the way home from there the she felt nauseous. Maybe not getting meat was a good thing?! Curious about the grease tracks coming outside to the sidewalk from the exit. Makes you wonder. All the furniture was spattered and never cleaned proper. Soap, people!!!

I visited this location twice in the week that I was on vacation in cocoa. The food and service was excellent both times. The chocolate chip cookie dough dessert is to die for! Took stars off because both times it smelled bad inside the restaurant at the counter where you order, like they had cleaned up a spill with a soured mop. If not for the outdoor seating I would have left.

I’ve been to this Tijuana, and others around the state, quite a few times. Mainly because I keep searching for something else on the menu that’s actually good. Tijuana has two things I can always count on: really friendly service/upbeat atmosphere and 4 extra layers of tortilla that the meal just didn’t need. My favorite thing on the menu is the carnitas flautas and every time I order them they grow an extra layer of tortilla. The first time was two years ago and I got a massive amount of pork with a layer and a half of tortilla. Just enough crunch to soft ratio that I could dip it or stuff it with the fix’ns. Fast forward to my last visit and I counted no less than 5 layers of dry, crunchy, tortilla around my speck of carnitas. Oh…carnitas…how I miss you… how lonely you must be in your fortress of tortilla, unable to hug your bestest friends Smack my Ass and Call Me Sally and sour cream… …anyway. The tacos are alright. The ingredients aren’t always the best but they’re fresh enough. The chicken quesadilla, as said in other reviews, is lacking meat and leads me to say again… the ingredients aren’t the best so that cheese tortilla isn’t winning any awards. The burrito has been hit and miss. From perfect(two layers), to ripping the single tortilla apart, to being encased in a tortilla fortress. I will certainly be back, if anything so I can have some more of their awesome sauces. I’ll never like Tijuana Flats as much as Chipotles or Qdoba but at some point you’ve gotta eat something other than burritos and bowls so I –need– TJ Flats to get it together. Hah. And of course, the parking is an issue… there is more around back but it’s dark and scary back there. This place gets really crowded on event nights.

I’ve been coming to Tijuana Flats for about 15 years — usually the stores in Orlando. While the quality and service have continued to go down in those stores the one constant bright light is the store in Merritt Island. The food and service are always excellent staff is attentive without being cloying and I will come here over and over again. Thanks for a great time, great food, & great service. You guys are the best!

I’ve been coming here for a while and pretty frequently during my son’s football seasons. I love TJ Flats! The servers here are always very friendly and quick and the food is always right out of the kitchen piping hot! My only complaints are about the location’s problems but not so much about the food — 1) this place likes to get busy and people like to linger… which means seating is constantly a problem and 2) the parking can be difficult. The parking in the front is limited and you’ll be forced to hit the grass for a spot or swing through the alley if you find this area full. There are some spots on the side and the back though. Food here? The flautas and tacos are 2 of my personal faves but I try and rotate through the menu. The sauce bar is always changing and that is all about your personal tastes. If you want salsa, make sure to ask. The side of guacamole is also pretty good. About the only thing I’ve found that I’m not a fan of is the Bangin’ Chicken. Something about their buffalo chicken in a burrito just doesn’t do it for me even though I’m a fan of hot wings. Oh well, there are plenty of other choices I do like!
