Delicious margaritas and great, fast service. The 2 for one margarita Monday is great. 1.5 drinks, definitely tipsy. Go for the peach margarita! The chips were ok but they’re free and the food pretty solid. I enjoyed my chimichanga but nothing to write home about. Overall, a great choice and decently priced!

Would have given five stars but they didn’t have the white cheese sauce I prefer. Everthing was GREAT. Can’t spell what we had and they took the menus. 2 for one Margaritas did us in. They didn’t scimp on the tequila. Got out for under $ 40 including tip. Will be back!

We ate there about five times last year and it was very good every time. Two for one margarita Monday’s are great too!

The food is good and the staff is nice. The queso dip isn’t like we are used to but it is still really good.

They have a real wood fire grill they cook the steaks and chicken on, very good flavor. The Chimichanga is also great. Good is always fresh and cooked properly. I take friends here that live in the«nicer areas» and they all love this place too. RECOMEND: Steak or Chicken Cuban Style

My wife and I eat here at least once or twice per week. the food is ALWAYS good! The staff is always extremely friendly. I would highly recommend the chicken tacos or the ropa, two of our favorites. and the fajitas too:-)

We went for lunch yesterday. Chips and salsa was very good. Small bowl of chips served. The waitress didn’t come back to refill after waiting a while. Finally I had to bother her to ask for more along with white cheese dip. They didn’t have any, she said. So she brought us yellow cheese dip instead. It tasted like cheese whiz. Actually pretty nasty stuff. We ordered the Cuban sandwich to share as an appetizer. Took a long time but finally arrived. Sandwich was dry, and stale tasting. Barely had anything in it. Tasteless. We had fajitas for our entre. Couldn’t chew the«steak». Maybe 6 strips altogether and tiny at that. I left most of it because I couldn’t chew it. My husband got the chicken. He said it was chewable, but no taste. The place was not crowded at all. Maybe 3 other tables very disappointed. I was looking forward to going here because I heard it was good. Maybe the other El Chapparel is good. The one in Cocoa on US1, not good. I will not be back.

Easily the best Mexican food in Brevard County. Since moving to the area in September, I have been disappointed time and time again by the mediocre(at best) Mexican restaurants – until coming across this gem. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive, and our food was out quickly. It totally hit the spot. Delicious. Don’t forget a margarita to wash it all down!

This is about the worst food in the area. They can not even make a good margarita. We will never go here again!

They are by no means traditional and thats fine. i ordered the chorizo burrito. my boyfriend and i make these for breakfast a lot. this was so disapointing. the chorizo was completely flavorless. it was really dry. i usually put tapatio on these but they didnt have any. so i had to use chalula. still not good. it came with rice… the rice had carrots and other veggies in it. not good. later that night i became extremely sick thanks to the bad chorizo.

This is a duplicate of El Leoncito in Titusville. Both have the exact same food which is pretty mediocre. And both are equally slow especially for the amount of staff on hand.

One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve eaten at in Florida. The staff was super nice, the food came out fast and it was super delicious. I got the Chaluoa Tostada and the shell was fried perfect with the shredded chicken adequately spiced. The complimentary salsa was spicy but dang good. The frozen margarita was done just right… Not too strong.

We were skeptical first as there were no cars in parking lot, we were first customers at noon. We were thinking about returning back to nearby Indian vegetarian restaurant as we had few guests from India traveling with us. But we dared to go in and were not disappointed. Lunch was great, good portion side. Tacos were good. Most important was guests liked the food(their second preference is Mexican food after Indian food). My son was super excited, he wrote his special feedback with all happy faces. Wife was happy with Flan.(I thought that it could be more smooth/soft). Overall nice surprise while traveling to Kennedy space center. Whole party is happy, I am happy. Thanks Unilocal

This place is probably the best restaurant in the area, but that is saying almost nothing since I would give the city of Cocoa as a whole negative stars. Service took forever, the prices weren’t great for Mexican food, and there was nothing outstanding about the taste or quality of the food. That being said, it got me appropriately carbo-loaded for the marathon the next morning, so thank goodness for tortillas and rice.

The food was good and the portions were certainly hearty! Very nice restaurant overall, though the service could’ve been a bit faster.

This places service was absolutely horrible and the food was just average. Our appetizer came out at the same time as our entrée, which was 55 minutes after we ordered(and the place was like a ghost town) .Until we got our food, neither of our drinks were refilled, and our waiter was no where to be seen. The food was nothing exciting, it simply lacked flavor. Will not be returning…

If you read my other reviews, you would know that I rarely give a 5 star rating. Chaparral just hit the perfect combo of Margarita, sausa, and service. Then service was great. I was permitted to order somethig that wasn’t exactly on the menu. I admit that the perfect Margarita or the perfect sausa is a matter of personal taste. This place just happened to match mine.

Came in for lunch. Ordered the Cuban sandwich and black bean soup. I’ve had this exact meal at least twice before and have been pleased, but this time, it was a major disappointment. For starters, the soup was watered down… literally. It was thin and watery, as though they ran out of soup and decided to add water to stretch it out. Only this was beginning of lunch shift, so there’s no excuse for that. Whatever the reason, it was nothing like they have served me in the past. Normally, it is thick and full of flavor. As for my Cuban sandwich, it came MICROWAVED. Yes, nuked… unreal! How do I know? Well, it came to my table soggy underneath like it had been steamed instead of crunchy from the sandwich press. Also, it was sitting in liquid, presumably the juices from the pork that escaped during«cooking». Five minutes later while working on the second half of the sandwich, the bread become hard and chewy, which is exactly what microwaved bread turns into. I decided not to mention anything to my server because I usually don’t make a point of complaining about a meal of this price point(under $ 10) unless it has something to do with cleanliness or mistreatment by staff, etc. and I experienced neither. The server was very attentive, polite, and competent. My rating is based on that horrible excuse of a Cuban sandwich and the water-stretched soup. As I said, my expectations are pretty low for this price point but there should still be standards set by the kitchen because otherwise, folks will happily spend their $ 8.50 elsewhere. Judging by the empty dining room, it appears many already have.

OK, if this place were located somewhere with other great restaurants, it probably wouldn’t be five stars, but I’m adding an extra one due to the fact that this place is an oasis in Cocoa. We were staying at the Apollo Inn down the street and couldn’t afford to travel 25 minutes to get something to eat. Unilocal guided us to Chaparral and we couldn’t have been happier. Great margaritas, solid burritos and enchiladas. The décor was kitchy but cute, and our service impeccable. Again, this place gets a bump for knocking it out of the park when we didn’t have a backup plan. I’d happily eat here again.
