I gotta be honest, I’m a coffee snob. I enjoy the art and time it takes to make quality coffee beverages. I’ve been dissapointed with what Starbucks has turned into and where Dutch Bros is heading. So I’m being truthful when I say I was hesitant in trying a new, lowkey, family owned coffee business ran in a community college campus. But I can tell why they have two locations. I got a coffee shake, Vanilla to be exact, loaded up with whip crème, caramel, and chocolate syrup. and not only was it the best damn tasting coffee drink I’ve had but it was also well designed and looked artfully created in the cup. With their prices, vibe, and customer service… I’ve found my new go-to coffee stop.

I was dropping off my friend’s car keys and noticed this campus coffee shop. I live in SF and know my coffee, and these guys are on par with some of the best I’ve stepped into(I’m talking about coffee, they have some cafeteria items too). The kid behind the counter was fast and courteous, the latte was world class(and with art :)) and the prices appropriate for broke college kids. If I had still lived in the Valley, I’d def go out of my way to come here for my morning coffee!

I came to this place and got a smoothie. Mango tango to be exact and I just didn’t like the flavor so I wanted to switch it out. I work at paradise bakery(where there’s great customer service) and when someone brings back up a drink or even an entrée they didn’t like we will switch it out for them for no charge with no hesitation and apologize that it wasn’t what they expected. So I brought my drink back up and told the barista that I didn’t enjoy the drink I chose(said it in the nicest way possible) and asks what flavor I wanted and I told her and she goes«that will be $ 4.95» I was caught off guard and I am never one to complain it took everything in me to go up there and say I didn’t like the smoothie! So I had to leave the counter to grab my wallet where my sister was sitting and I Ieft my smoothie on the counter. My sister said not to pay for a new one and said to go get the old one. I just paid for the new one even though I thought it was pretty stupid I was being charged. My sister walks up and asked the lady why I had to pay for a new one and with an attitude the barista replied«well there was nothing wrong with it, she just didn’t like it so she has to pay for a new one» and my sister asked if we can get the old one back and the barista said carelessly«I already tossed it» so I got my smoothie and we walked out irritated. It’s just annoying that we got mediocre service and no apology. They suck.

I checked in today… I was going to MCC pick up my sis. I ordered the Irish cream. That’s awesome but the cup is too small even I ordered the large one :/

I work at Mesa Community College & Grounds for thought is the campus coffee shop. Grounds for thought has 2 campus locations. One inside the KSC(Kirk Center) the other is located within the AS corridor. The owner Rick is a great guy, he interacts with customers/students all the time. I’m not a coffee drinker but I am a tea guy! & of the handful of places I’ve gone for tea. Specifically«Chai Tea Latte» Grounds has the best tasting Chai! I don’t know what they do differently as compared to Starbucks but the taste is so smooth, sweet & rich tasting.
