So disappointed. This use to be my favorite place years ago, when they made their own bread. I ate here for the first time in 6 years today(I had moved several hours away and recently moved back) and first of all, they don’t make their own bread anymore. No more raisin toast :(Second, my order was wrong(forgivable). third, the prices increased while the food quality decreased– eggs were gross, my daughter’s grilled cheese was extremely salty, the ham tasted like rubber. overall, the food just tasted so. ‘cheap’. The only positive thing I can comment about was the service. Our waitress was very sweet. It makes me so sad how far down this place went.

Pretty good breakfast like a better version of dennys which is right next to it… but i prefer this place. Its homestyle cooked breakfast very homey and the prices are cheap and awesome.

Food and service have taken a huge nose dive in the last few months. Prices have been raised yet quality in all areas has greatly decreased.

This place is pretty good, I would definitely come again. The food service is fast and delicious. Didn’t have to wait, and it was a Saturday morning. Seated right away, waitresses always came to check up on us. A variety of breakfast including Mexican breakfast entrees as well.

Our first attempt at breakfast was the Cracker Barrel across 635, but because of the 30 minute wait there we decided to give this place a shot at our business. There was a medium group ahead of us, approximately 12 people, who unexpectedly crippled the kitchen. Our ticket time was over 1 hour and we would have most likely finished eating at the cracker barrel had we decided to stay there. The food was good, but definitely didn’t garner that type of wait. We won’t return — the management didn’t seem to care that our wait time was that long and acted as if it was normal. A little communication to the customers goes a long way! Might I add, the interior of this place could certainly use some attention or TLC. The majority of the tables/booths look like they are reclaimed/second-hand and some cleaning would go a long way.

The food was great. My friend had pork chops and I had a chicken fried steak sandwich. Our portions were huge, well prepared and service was exceptional. A great place to eat, including breakfast. If you haven’t stopped in the afternoon or evening you need to try it!

Uh… What to say? Orders were wrong, food was bland, service was horrible. We will not be returning.

This is one of the worse places I have ever been. The food is horrible. Pancakes were burned. Scrambled eggs were watery. Homemade bread is regular bread. The service is horrible… Took 45mins to get our food… the staff seems over work and they only have one cook. Only reason they have people go in is because of the long line at Waffle House of Cracker Barrel. Word of advise… stick with the long lines

Ordered their breakfast burrito. No flavor whatsoever, no seasoning, just eggs thrown together with old sausage, tortilla was dry and the sauce over it reminded me of a baby’s diarrhea-soaked diaper. The pancakes were especially blah and tasted like raw batter, not even vanilla added to somehow disguise the bad cooking. Nasty, just nasty. There is a reason the place is always empty. We were going to eat at Waffle House next door but they were packed; next time we will wait in line but we will never go back to this horrible place. Disgusting is too nice a word for this place.

Diarrhea palace. If food poisoning, flies, and nasty waffles needed a place to live in harmony… this is the castle. The only redeeming quality is that for 6.00, I learned never to eat here again. You get what you pay for. I’m so disgusted. PS — I had burnt bacon, runny under cooked eggs, and a powder waffle + coffee. Took a customary 1 bite of everything and threw a napkin on top(a funeral) and went to Crocker Barrel.

Do yourself a favor & just stop elsewhere. This place is inexpensive for a reason. Everything we had was terrible. The place is dirty. The service is almost worse than the food. I would rather stop at Waffle House with the truckers and drunk crowd at 3:00 a.m. or wait in line for an hour at Cracker Barrel, than go back to this place.

I stopped by for breakfast. Had the omelette, hash browns, and raisin toast which was pretty good. Omelette was huge and the green sauce was very good. Ive been looking for a place that has good green sauce! Overall I would eat here again.

So sad to see a once great place go so far down hill. Sweet tea– bad taste and not sweet Omelette– all the cheese was in a single blob and sausage and bacon was burnt Home fries– over cooked Raisin toast– burnt To top it all of about halfway through breakfast a foul overwhelming smell of sewer over whelmed the dinning room! «Yeah we’ve been having this issue for the past three months» wth seriously were is the health department?

1st the smell coming from the place outside is enough to turn a goats stomach. The owner seems to micromanage his team and seems a total jerk. The wait staff is hit and miss some are very good where some are so bad I have gotten my own food and silverwear. The only redeeming thing about this place is the cost.

Wonderful pancakes… marginal service. The chorizo omelet… did not have much chorizo… grits were yucky… don’t order them. Fried potatoes were good… not very many people in here and the service is slow.

I REALLY wish Unilocal let us give half stars. This place is 2.5 stars. So, my last breakfast venture gained me less than satisfying pancakes. Now I’m kind of craving a good pancake. I know from past experience that I won’t find it in my own kitchen. Another Unilocaler said that her food was cooked in a bad tasting oil. So was mine. My pancakes tasted like they used old oil on the grill. It gave them a kind of a burned taste, but my pancakes were nowhere near burned. Oddly, my over-easy egg and bacon were cooked perfectly and tasted just fine. Pancakes aren’t rocket science. Why is it so hard to find a cheap decent pancake in Mesquite?

If there is a half star, I would rate this place barely a half star. This place is not only have flies all over, I had to slap my menu to catch 2 dirty flies as soon as we got seated. Menu looked decent but food was just horrible. They used old oil for toasting my bread and other fried side dishes. I could taste bad chicken oil on my toast. Chicken friend steak also had a bad smell to the meat and the fried batter coat all came off lose with one slice cut. I had to eat the naked steak| separated from the batter. Only decent tasting food was the gravy. Waffles were ok. Their small juice and milk prices are ridiculous because of its size compared to their large size. The smell of their oil that they used really killed my appetite. I will not go to this place ever again. Ihop is probably the safer way to eat breakfast than this place. This place is NOTRECOMMENDED.

MY family has always been big fans of Scrambles. This is first and foremost a breakfast place– but theydo serve other foods. The food is always good, the prices are very inexpensive, and the portions are big. The grandkids always get the smiley face pancakes, and are never disappointed. Someonoe else always gets a breakfast burrito-which is cheap and quite filling. I often opt for the chicken fried steak. IT’s not the best in the world– but is pretty gooed and the price always makes me happy. The store itself is always clean and well lit-although there is sometimes a foul smell near the front door. Staff are usually friendly and helpful and lightning quick to take your order. This place is a regular in the family dining rotation andwill remain so for quite awile!

I am trying this place for the first time today. I ordered the special. It came with choice of bacon or sausage, two eggs and a pancake for $ 3.99! I also ordered a side of ham. First of all, I had my eggs cooked over medium and they came out perfect. They had a nice buttery flavor and were huge. I chose bacon as my side. The bacon was thick sliced and they gave me three. I thought the flavor was awesome. The side if ham was average at best. The pancake is something I would avoid. It was very thin and tasted like it came straight out of a cheap box. I loved the coffee. The service was great. I was greeted, seated and got my food five minutes after I ordered. My server was sweet and had a great attitude. I am giving this place four stars instead of the average three stars because of great service and the cheap menu.
