Évaluation du lieu : 2 Garden District, New Orleans, LA
Cheap drinks but not very many people in here on a Saturday night. They have old school TV’s and pool for your drinking distraction pleasure. The Devil might very well be inside here. Maybe this place gets crowded later at night?

Here’s the setup: 4 dive bars in one parking lot and 3 more bars across the street. I am more inclined to go to the latter group of bars because they just feel better to me. More fun. Friendlier bartenders. Better music. Devil’s Bayou is one of those dive bars. I was shocked when I first came here last week and saw that they still used small tube style TV’s! The bar has been untouched since the place was built but the drinks are really cheap(one of my beers was $ 1.75). It looks like the only thing new in this bar from the last 20yrs is the digital jukebox. The rest of the bar is nondescript as well with one pool table, a few long tables, dart boards, and video poker machines filling in the rest of the place. I walked in last night and there I was. Face to face with no one else but the bartender. I was almost instantly trapped. I wanted to walk out but my kindness got the better of me. So I settled down at the bar and ordered a beer. Just me and the bartender(Danielle) sitting in a dark and lonely bar. Danielle was sweet and talked my ear off. She talked about Family Guy(that she was watching when I walked in) and this Walking Dead fantasy football-style game they were playing at the bar. Mentioned something about picking a character and whoever’s character is the lone survivor at the end of the season wins the pot. No clue what she was talking about as I don’t watch the show. I wanted to leave so bad but there was no breaking out of that chastity belt. After praying for her to find some solace with her phone(who doesn’t love being on their phone when bored?), my prayer was answered. Another customer walked in and that gave me the chance to bid adieu. I thanked her for shooting the breeze with me and left quickly. Next time I will go with a friend especially if I go on a slow weekday night. Devil’s Bayou is a bar with a kick-ass name but for me they miss the mark. I guess it can be a fun bar on the weekends when it gets crowded but during the week it is a ghost town(my pics from last ngt validate that this place is indeed a ghost town on a Sunday ngt).
